Blogroll Links

Published by notimetostamp under Chit Chat

I got two more Blogs linked on the sidebartoday, and here they are:

1) Debbie Olson - debbiedesigns. I am linking Debbie especially for my local friends and neighbors who, to my knowledge, don’t spend a lot of time reading stamping Blogs, but if you do, then you’ll know who Debbie is anyway!!! Debbie has an extremely highly rated Blog, and once you stop in to visit, you’ll see why — her work is amazing — beyond compare!!! She is a true artist - no doubt about that!!! Her Blog is full of eye candy for the cardmaker, with full and complete instructions, and links to just about anything you’ll ever need to know! And I swear, Debbie has every single product ever manufactured, and she uses them all and tells us about all of them. And the surprise part for my local friends — she is practically our neighbor — well, almost — she is less than 100 miles away — can you imagine!!! Now, you’ll have to click into herBlog and play Where’s Waldo to figure out where she’s from!!! First one (of my local friends) topost herewith her town, gets a prize!!!! Really, you do — won’t be much — but something!!! LOL!!!

2) Lauren Meader - mytime. The Artfully Asian card I posted earlier today was based on Lauren’s Sketch in the DTGD Challenges of last month. It is a fabulous sketch!!! One of the things I really love about Lauren’s work is her ability to produce such simple, yet lovelylayouts — her layering is kept to a minimum, and the end result is always very light and *floaty* — in my mind I relate her cards to butterflies — that’s what they make me think of — light, lovely and *floaty*. And I’ve known her to say she LOVES butterflies — well, the feeling of a butterfly certainly translates into her work!!! Lauren and I were both called to serve on the Dirty Dozen Design Team together. It was such a pleasure getting to know Lauren and her beautiful work!!!

Artfully Asian

artfully-asian-workshopred-notimetostamp.jpg

This card uses Artfully Asian, a set I havent used much but, oh my, do I love it so very versatile with both flowers and leaves and 2 sentiments!!! This started out to be an autumn card for a workshop next week, but ended up in shades of blue, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou what can I say when Im stamping I go where the mood leads me!!! More fun that way!!!! But Ill still use it for a workshop card.

This layout is from one of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges of about a month ago. It was Laurens Sketch Challenge (mytime). I didnt do the challenge then, but its been on my mind as Ive seen so many nice cards coming through with this sketch and now that Ive done one, oh, do I like it such a super quick and easy sketch just what I wanted for today quick and easy for a workshop!!! Lauren excels at easy and interesting layouts. Ill be adding her link in the sidebar shortly!

The main image panel was cut 3 3/4 x 3 3/4, image embossed in gold, colored in with the fine tip of the markers, then cut into thirds so that would make each piece 1 1/4 wide. The Blue Bayou bottom border is the textured paper so pleased that SU has come out with such lovely textured paper forus!!! Thecard base was stamped in tone-on-tone Soft Sky. The ribbon used is Ivory Taffeta and Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon!!! Gotta love SU for all the great ribbons they have recently come out with!!!

Thats it for this one super quick and easy and how I love embossing dont do it nearly enough. Gold embossing is what first got me hooked on stamping so how could I NOT love it!!!! Thanks for looking.

Star Studded Season

jami-holiday-mini-swap-07-cr-red-notimetostamp.jpg

This is a swap card I did for Jami’s Holiday Mini Swap. I used Star Studded Season which is a simple set with only 1 large star but tons of Christmas sentiments. So nice to have a lot of sentiments to chose from for Christmas cards! I had to make 8 full cards, which is a nice small swap — very manageable!!! And I love that they were full cards rather than the typical card fronts. We can actually use all of our swap cards at some point in time, and I like that!!!

And here again we have my very favorite color for the season, Purely Pomegranate, in paper, ink and luscious satin ribbon. Baroque Motifs is used for the background, and the swirls were gone over with a glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds, so these cards are nice and sparkly IRL!!! The staris stamped on white, cut out, backed with pomegranate, cut out again and then wrapped with the newSilver Elastic Cord — just love this cord — it looks just like the old cord but is SOOOOO much easier to use. Itdrapes and hangs so nicely when that is what you’reafter! The DP is Happy Harmony, also in the new Holiday Mini. Love that for Christmas cards — it coordinates with the Pomegranate, River Rock and Always Artichoke — all great colors for Christmas cards! And, of course, no card is truly complete (LOL!) without a gorgeous piece of lush satin ribbon! This is sold by the spool in the Holiday Mini as well — just wish they had more colors available!!! It’s available in Chocolate and Pomegranate — and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this to be a regular item with more colors to come - we’ll see!!!!

If you’d like to see the rest of the cards in this swap (probably 32 I think), go to SCS and keyword in JSWAP907, and that should bring them up; however, we are just starting to upload them, so there aren’t too many there yet — check back over the next few days. It’s a nice way to see a lot of fabulous samples from the Holiday Mini all in one place! And if you particularly like a card you see, leave them a comment and let them know! It will be appreciated!!!
