Large Square Envelopes
I get asked often about where I get my envelopes as my favorite size card to make is a 5.5 inchsquare, and since I just received a few more inquiries, I’ll address it here. I always use 6″ square envelopes that I buy on the net. I’ve bought from a few different places and have been happy with them all. My last purchase was from Action Envelopes, and I’ll link them in my sidebar. Their pricing structure is such that the more you buy, the cheaper they are. When you go to their site, do a search for square envelopes, and you’ll get a listing of all size squaresin more colors than you can imagine! I always get plain white and have purchased the ivory as well.
I really like the 6″ envelopes. With a 5.5″ card that leaves 1/2″ of space, which I really like as many of my cards are rather thick and bulky, orhave larger ribbon knots, or who knows what — so I enjoy the extra space the 6″ envelopes provide.
And about shipping bulkier cards — I learned a little trick from Linda Bullard a year or so ago. Maybe everyone does this already, but it was knew to me and I thought it was brilliant. To make a padding for your card in the envelope, cut a piece of cardstock the size of the card and run it through your crimper — instant protection for your card front!!! I’ve done that ever since I learnedit from Linda, and have received a ton of remarks on what a great idea it is — I thought it was too — thank you, Linda!!!! Just thought I’d share that in case it might be helpful to someone else!!! I often feel I’m the last to learn everything, but just maybe there is someone else out there who didn’t know!!! LOL!!!
OK, I couldn’t get the link to work in the sidebar, so here it is: Action Envelopes
