Snow Burst Winter

- Paper: Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Basic Black
- Ink: Bashful Blue, Black Stazon, Versa Mark

I made this card forthe Ways to Use it Challenge at SCS today. The challenge was to use spirals in your work — I chose to use the spiral punch. I just love that punch for making journal covers, but have only used it a few times on cards. I was going for the film strip look as was shown on several samples; however, in this card I feel my film strip ideakind of gotlost in the sparkles, cording, ribbon, etc. I do like the snowflakes and the sparkles, and I like the filmstrip idea, just not necessarily together! But the card will do and I will use it. I do want to use this film strip idea on another project — maybe I’ll get it right the 2nd time — LOL!!!
- Filmstrip panel: Black is 2 1/4″ x 5″, spiral punched along both sides. The square punches would work great for the pictures on the film strip, but I don’t have them, so I just cut the panels to fit, approx. 1 3/8 x 1 1/2″. Snowflakes stamped in Bashful Blue, edges sponged, snowflakesoutlined with Sakura Quickie Glue Pen (has a real fine, pen-like tip) and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. Then all those spiral punched holes were just begging to have something run though them, so I used the new Silver Elastic Cord — what great stuff! It looks wonderful and is so easy to use. It bends, drapes, hangs just where it should, so flexible and manageable!!! A HUGE improvement over the silver cording it replaced!
- White panel: 5 1/4 x4″. Snowflakes stamped in Bashful Blue, edges sponged, went over the entiresurface with Versa Mark (DTP), then embossed with Iridescent Ice EP. Love that look!!!
- Winter panel: 1 1/8 x 2 3/4″. Top corners clipped with Tag Corner Punch. Winter stamped with Black Stazon, embossed with IIEP as above. Attached to Film Strip Panel with brad (from Michaels), sneaking a bow between the brad and tag. Entire film strip panel attached to card with foam mounting tape (Wal-Mart).
That’s it for this one! Thanks so much for looking!!! And if you haven’t entered the Blog Candy contest below, please do so!!!

Ooooooh, ahhhhhhh Sharon! You just reminded me that I want this snowflake set. Dang, I almost forgot! I must get my hands on some of that elastic cord, too. I love the other cord but this looks easier to handle. Thanks for testing it out and posting your fine example! This is a true stunner!
I love it!! I think it looks great with the snowflakes and filmstrip!!
You know I like filmstrip!!!
This is just gorgeous. I love sparkly, especially for Christmas cards. I love the filmstrip idea, too, and the cording, tag, and bow really “make” the card. TFS!! I love your step-by-step instructions, which are very easy to read!
Absolutely beautiful card. Love how the black paper looks so much like filmstrip. The bow and huge brad are the perfect finishing touch.
Oh my, this is gorgeous! I just discovered that you have new blog — I am so excited (I’ve been hoping you would start one)! I’ve been playing “catch up” on your posts — I could look at your creations all day long!!
Wow, this is stunning. Beautiful work.
Beautiful, dazzling snowflake card! I’ve really been debating about this set. You are definitely making it more tempting for me here. :o) Linda
Really beautiful. I love the sparkly and blue is my favorite Christmas color.
I love the sparkly snowflakes and blue together! The silver elastic cording looks really cool the way you’ve laced it through the “filmstrip”. Pretty card!!
I love your instructions on all of your cards. They help sooooo much! I also love the sparkle effect and the filmstrip but might not use them together. Thanks!
Nancy
Gorgeous! Love your glitter filmstrip!
Stunning!!
