OK, It’s a Go!!!

Well, it sounds like a lot of you are up to another challenge — so I’m going to go ahead and do it.  It’s been difficult to decide when to post it, but I guess it really doesn’t matter as it can be done at any time at all, but I decided to post it on Friday, somewhere in the area of late afternoon or early evening, Eastern time.  That way it’ll be there all weekend for those who work out and it’ll still be there on Monday if some Mom’s can’t stamp until the kids go back to school!!!

The first challenge will be posted this Friday, 9/21, late afternoon/early evening.  And I’ll give you one little hint so you can start thinking about your stamps — chose ONE stamp, not one SET, but one STAMP, that is an image you love because it is either gorgeous,  adorable, cute, whatever — just try to think of one stamp that you really love!!!

OK, the rest of the story will come on Friday!!!!

Thanks so much everyone for all your responses and encouragement!!!  I think this will be so much fun!!!

Fantasy Bloom

sc142-fantasy-bloom-cr-wm-notimetostamp.jpg

I made this card with the new set from Flourishes called Fantasy Floral Garden.  Just love it!  It has 23 stamps, and some of them are just the prettiest words that go so well with the floral images.

This is a fairly simple and basic card.  The main image is stamped in Black Stazon onto Whisper White and watercolored with reinkers and an aquapainter.  Such a small amount of watercoloring was happening that it didn’t bother the plain paper at all.  The DP is by Basic Grey, available at Flourishes as well.  The layout is from today’s sketch challenge at SCS.  Pretty basic and simple card, but I love the colors!!!

  • Stamps:  Fantasy Floral Garden by Flourishes
  • Paper:  Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Whisper White, Lily Kate 6 x 6 pad by Basic Grey
  • Ink:  Black Stazon.  Reinkers in Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Barely Banana
  • Accessories:  Old Olive Wide Grosgrain Ribbon, Brads, Photo Corner Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, Mounting Tape, Aquapainter

Measurements:

  • Card:  Standard A-2 size, 5.5 x 4.25
  • Main Image Panel:  2.5 x 3, each layer behind is 1/4″ bigger

Merry, Merry Christmas

merry-merry-sc-red-wm-notimetostamp.jpg

I absolutely love the look of this simple, potted tree in the set O Christmas Tree! by Flourishes.   The set also has a tree skirt, but for some reason I love the look of a potted tree, so that’s the image I seem to keep using.  The set has a ton of decorations for the tree, and this time I draped the tree with these gorgeous, drippy icicles.  I love icicles on a tree!!!  They were stamped in Purely Pomegranate, then colored with a blender pen dipped in Purely Pomegranate ink from the refill bottle dotted onto the pad lid, then dotted with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen (real fine tip, like a pen) and sprinked with Dazzling Diamonds.  They look so nice and sparkly IRL.  The tree was stamped in Always Artichoke and accented with markers in shades of brown.  The pot was stamped in Brown Stazon and colored with a Creamy Caramel marker.  The tree branches were used to stamp all the River Rock paper.  I love using the tree branches for this subtle background stamping — it really warms up the feel of the card.  The edges of the River Rock pieces were then sponged as well.

  • Stamps:  O Christmas Tree! by Flourishes
  • Paper:  River Rock, Purely Pomegranate, Very Vanilla, Holiday Harmony DP
  • Ink:  Always Artichoke, River Rock, Purely Pomegranate.  Timber Brown and Black Stazon.   Markers in Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa and  Chocolate Chip.
  • Accesories;  Pomegranate Satin Ribbon, Quickie Glue Pen by Sakura, Dazzling Diamonds, Blender Pen, Mounting Tape, Sponge.

Measurements:

  • Card:  5.5″ square
  • Pomegranate frame for Artichoke DP layer:  5″ square
  • Pomegrante Frame for Merry panel:  4 3/8″ x 1 3/8″
  • Pomegranate Frame for tree:  4 1/4″ x 2 3/8″

Thanks much for looking!!!
