Name Tags

name-tags-red-notimetostamp.jpg

We had a ladies function at our church today and I had to make the name tags. The theme was missions, and our decorations/meal were Mexican. I was told to make name tags with flowers and bright colors, so this is what I came up with, making them, of course, in the middle of the night last night!!! I did 40, and they were quite simple. The only stamping was the “Hello” which is from Fantasy Floral Garden by Flourishes. The rest of the tag was made with punches. They were made to hang on your neck. The tag base is a 2″ x 3″ piece with all 4 corners rounded. The round tab punch was attached at the top of the tag with brads and the ribbon run through it. And the really good thing is the ribbon, 3/8″ black satin, was from the $ Store, 100 yards for $1.00 — yes, you read that right — 100 yards!!!! And it was a very nice, soft satin ribbon!!! No adhesive was used — only brads. They really were fun to make!

  • Stamps: Fantasy Floral Garden by Flourishes
  • Paper: Basic Black, Green Galore, Office Max Yellow, Office Max Pink
  • Ink: Basic Black
  • Accessories: Ribbon, Brads, Paper Piercer and Mat Pack (to punch holes for brads)
  • Marvy Punches: Large and Small Flower
  • SU Punches: Round Tab, Corner Rounder, Scallop Circle

Thanks much for looking!

They turned out very cute, even if it was the middle of the night.

Wow! That’s 120 brads and lots of punching! They sure are cute, though, and they fit the bill perfectly. I really like the way you used the tab punch on the top. very clever, I think. What a find on that ribbon!

Sharon these are awesome. Looks like I’m not the only middle of the night stamper. :)

The colours in the flowers suit a Mexican theme.
Love the simple, graphic quality! Nicely done!

Many people just hate wearing name tags, but not these!! Think many will be keepers after the fact and a great reminder to pray for the missionaries serving in Mexico! Reminds me of some of the lovely, tropical flowers I grew up with in Costa Rica.

what a fantastic job on those Sharon! they will be so thrilled not to have those stick-on ugly name labels. I’m pretty sure you wont have to convince anyone to wear one LOL.

Love the tags, great idea! I’ll keep this in mind the next time our ladies at church have a function, and we need name tags. They would love this!

Wow, I would have been proud to wear a pretty name tag like this one. So many times you get those sticky ones that gum up a nice jacket or sweater. These are very pretty, and WHAT A DEAL on that satin ribbon. You gals must have much nicer dollar stores than we do here–LOL! :)
