Wild Horses
I did this card today for the Color Challenge at SCS — River Rock, Basic Gray and Basic Black — very cool colors together!!! I needed a sample using this set for a workshop,so this is what I came up with. And before I started, I spotted the CC card done by Angela R. She had used bleach to stamp her image and said when bleached onto the Basic Gray it came out a perfect River Rock color, and it sure did — amazing!!! Thanks Angel!!!! Here is Angel’s card using bleach: Angel’s Card. Isn’t it just drop dead gorgeous!!! My Wild Horses can’t compare to Angel’s card, but I do love how the bleaching did turn to River Rock!
My main image panel started as a piece of Basic Gray, the horses were stamped with bleach, I then just dragged the edges of the Basic Gray panel over my home made Bleach pad to create the River Rock border. I had some accidental bleach splatters on my horses, so I just took a paint brush and flicked on a few more! Some blobs actually came too big, but, oh well — life isn’t perfect!!!
Hint: My home made bleach pad is just bleach poured into aCool Whipcontainer (couldn’t find anything smaller at the moment), with a double thickenss of white felt cut to fit the bottom. A smaller container would actually be better! You don’t need much bleach!
Hint: This is what I call a “Scrap Card” as I put it together out of scrap pieces laying around. When I do a Scrap Card, I have no preconceived ideas as to layout — I just play with my pieces, whatever size they are, until I like how they look — sometimes I need to trim a little here or there — but for the most part they end up being pretty close in size to how I found them –I love doing “Scrap Cards”!!!
Hint: As I often do, I use piercing to fill in dead spaces — quick and easy! Also, I know a lot of people only pierce the top layer — they don’t like to pierce all the way through to the inside of the card. I LOVE to pierce through the entire card!!! I love the look and texture that the piercing lends to the inside of the card!!! This is pierced all the way through.
