Wintergreen Tags

This is a set of 6 tags I made for workshop samples, all using Wintergreen DP and the tag set called Tags for All. There are 7 tags in the set, but I did one with the 7th stamp on my Tag/Bag challenge a week ago, so that tag, which would complete this set, can be seen here. My natural inclination would have been to make all of these tags match perfectly so they’d be a *set* — LOL — can’t help it — I just have this matchy/matchy thing at the forefront of my brain all the time — but I didn’t make them match — since they are workshop samples, I tried to vary them. And the really good thing, I usedup scraps of DP to make them — no large pieces of DP were used in the making of these tags, and that’s a good thing!!!

I’ll start with this one because it’s my favorite of the bunch! I really like the vine/berry image on this stamp. It is highlighted with Dazzling Diamonds (DD). The layout came together based on the size scraps I was playing with. A piece of the 5/8″ red grosgrain is wrapped around the DP. The top of the tag was formed by rounding the corners of my tag, securing a Key Tag punched piece on the back of the tag and then punching a slot and inserting the Word Window Tag, holding it together with a brad. A ribbon will fit to slip through the Word Window Tag loop, but since I like long ribbons to tie them onto bags, it was just easier to photo all of these without ribbons. And some may actually end up getting taped onto a box rather than hung from a bag handle, so we’ll just handle that part when the time comes.

The top of this tag was made just like the one above, with the Key Tag punch, only a Tag Corner punch was used rather than a Corner Rounder on the corners ofthe tag base. The image is stamped a second time on a scrap of white in red, and then the *M merry* is punched out with a 3/4″ circle punch and adhered to the card with a Dimensional. Two red brads add a little life, and the row of tiny dots and the row of stars are all done with DD.

This is a little 3 x 3 that opens. Snowmen are colored/highlighted with markers, DD on the snow, again red brads add a little interest and I punched a slot in the upper left of the card front, added a Word Window Tab held closed with a brad and a ribbon run through it and tied — just for the fun of it!!! Something different — it’s just a tag — what the heck!!!

This is another little card that opens — it is 4 x 3. The tree is watercolored in Sage Shadow to match the paper and it is also highlighted with DD, as is the snow. Silver Elastic Cording is wrapped around the top and a little piece of Black Gingham ribbon is tied on for fun!!!

tag-small-2-notime.jpg

This is more of a typical tag, measuring 2 x 4.25″. The black piece with the white embossed noel was in a scrap pile, a reject from another project — just love when rejected pieces find new life!!! Again, a scrap piece of DP was added, the snowflake on the stamped image is highlighted with DD, and brads and a tab are added.

This is the last tag, and it measures 2 x 4. Again using DP scraps, the ornament was colored right on the stamp with markers and then highlighted with DD, more brads and another tab. All done, that’s it — very quick and simple — using up scraps laying around — I love doing little projects like this — such a feeling of accomplishment with each little one completed!!!

Hint: You will notice that most of my tags have a dark base — black in this case. I prefer a dark base on a tag so that it will stand out and be seen if it is taped onto a package. Packages are usually wrapped in a printed paper and often times the tag just gets lost in all the print and color, but if it is matted in a dark color it will often be more noticeable!!!

Once again, thanks much for looking!!! Hope you are having a great weekend!!! I hope to have some more SU projects featuing Designer Papers ready to upload sometime tomorrow!!!
