Stamp Simply Challenge #9 - Quick Measures

Challenge #9 - Keyword SSnotime09-There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload yourproject at Splitcoastand/or your Blog, anytime at all! You can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.

I wasmore than a little brain dead tonight when I had to come up with this challenge, so I had to resort to doing something quick — thus the challenge, Quick Measures — things that we do/use to make cards super quick when there just is No Time To Stamp (LOL)(or when we’re brain dead!!!). You may incorporate any Quick Measures into your card that you routinely fall back on. Please share your favorite quick measures with us in your description. For some ideas, here are the Quick Measures I incorporated into my sample card — you may use these or your own Quick Measures:

  • Use of Designer Paper = great backgrounds
  • Solid Image Stamps = instant color with no extra work
  • Use of punches = instantly adds geometric interest
  • Zap of Color = pizzazz and eye appeal
  • Elevation =added interest without much effort
  • Sparkle = eye catching appeal

Other things I often fall back on, though did not use on this card are:

  • Dramatic ribbon treatment = great WOW appeal
  • Use of 1 set only = less decisions to make/less to clean

Remember when you upload to use the keyword above, followed by a comma. Please come back here to post (as a comment) that youve played, and provide a linkso I can check out your card right away. You can find all cards uploaded for this challenge by clicking Gallery Submissions Here.

Some wanting to play said they have never uploaded before. If thats you and you need help uploading, just go to my Challenge No. 1 and instructions are there.

  • Stamps: Perfect Presentation, Many Merry Messages
  • Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Wintergreen Designer Paper
  • Ink: Black Stazon, Real Red, Sage Shadow, Soft Sky
  • Accessories: Ribbons, Brads, Crafter’s Tool Kit, Dimensionals, Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Punches: 1/2″, 1″, 1 1/4″ Circles, Ticket Corner.

It might look like there is a lot to this card, but there really isn’t. I started with my Wintergreen Designer Paper and thought I’d use the snowflake background which would go well with the tree and snowman from Perfect Presentation. I stamped each of those images on white and mattedin red. I have several different strips of DP as I was using up scraps again — figured the white under the snowman and tree could represent the snow. I stamped Merry Christmas on the bottom in black and wanted to incorporate a bit more black into the card, so I used it on my round sentiment and also to mat the sentiment. The Dec 25 is popped up, stamped in red for a little extra punch. I stamped that sentiment twice, once in black and once in red, then punched the center Dec 25 out with a 1/2″ punch and used a 1″ punch for the North Pole. The entire layered sentiment is then adhered to the card with another Dimensional. Added two red brads in the upper corner for balance and did a simple ribbon treatment on the bottom — no fussing with fancy bows here. I just ran my wide red grosgrain around thepanel and adhered on the back, then just quickly tied on a little piece of the black gingham, which added another needed touch of black and balanced things off for me. Then I still wanted a bit of sparkle, so I merely traced the tree and snowman with a glue pen and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds — done!!!

Hope you can play sometime and I really look forward to reading what your Quick Measures are that you routinely fall back on!!! Thanks so much for looking!
