Spring Merci

There’s a bit of a story to this card, so please bear with me.  Today at 6:00 a.m. (Wednesday the 20th) the uploads will start rolling in at SCS for this months Dirty Girl Challenge.  This card was supposed to be my challenge entry — well, until I realized I broke some challenge rules, so now it’s just a regular upload, but I still like it!!!  The challenge this month was to make a card using a stamp that had been designed by one of our own Dirty Girls — did you know many of them actually do design stamps?  Or, as an alternative, we could CASE a card from any Dirty Girl’s Gallery - how fun!!!  Oh, and it also had to have a spring color scheme, and NO Cuttlebugs, or Wizards, or any die cut type of machine — and therein lies the problem — LOL!!!  I didn’t start my card until almost midnight (well gee, I only knew about this challenge for a month!), I had it about done, and as I was running my scallop Nestability through the Bug, I cracked my B plate — first time ever — a huge crack — which INSTANTLY reminded me that I wasn’t supposed to be using it — LOL!!!  Oh well, too late to change course, so I carried on through with my plan as I was about done — but, knowing I was now out of the challenge, I went ahead and added the Swiss Dots embossing as well, and I really like it — maybe it was just meant to be!!!  So, here’s my card:

The Dirty Girl stamp I used was the Pretty Pattern background stamp designed by Lisa Strahl (Mona Lisa) for Cornish Heritage Farms.  Isnt’ it wonderful!!!  Just love it!!!!  And this is also a Dirty Girl case of this card by Amy Rohl (rohla).  I omitted the stitching, changed the dry embossing from straight lines to Swiss Dots, and used a background stamp rather than DP, and changed the color scheme and main image.

I used an SAB set, Merci, and watercolored it with reinkers and an aquapainter and framed it with a Nestabilities rectangle scallop by Spellbinders.  Tied on a ribbon, added a button, and that was about it.  I do like the spring feel of this card.

Now remember, once 6:00 a.m hits, and thats not too far off, check out all of the Dirty Girl uploads by clicking here, or doing a gallery search for DCS208.  The uploads will be rolling in all day.  There’s sure to be a ton of great cards — fun!!!

Thanks so much for checking in!!!  Truly appreciate it!!!
