Blog Candy
I have no projects to share tonight, but I do have the Blog Candy I promised, and here it is:
A Scor-Pal!!! Brand spanking new in it’s original packaging, ordered especially for you (one of you anyway!!!) — sorry for the glare but it’s that shiny packaging.
I intended to have a project to post using the Scor-Pal, but time got away on me, and I wanted to get this up so you can begin signing up. Check back in a day or two and I’ll try to get a Scor-Pal project/tutorial posted. I’ll run this Blog Candy sign up until Monday night, March 17 at midnight Eastern Time. Then I’ll use a random number generator to pick the winner.

Now, I don’t only mean the favorite kind you actually use, but truly your absolute favorite, totally disregarding the price, that you wish you had tons of at your disposal — and maybe it IS what you always use but, then again, maybe not — I love ribbon and I’m just curious — that’s all!!! I adore silk ribbon. They come in so many beatiful colors and their vibrant and very pliable. I love too do ribbon flowers… i mean there is no end to its use. I wish I could put it in every project I do!

I love the huge rolls of ribbon Costco carries! Also, the new ribbons from Paper Trey look delicious though I haven’t tried them….yet!
I love organdy, any type, any width but the better bows are tied with really wide organdy.

Hello! I would have to agree with a previous post that I like Stampin Up! ribbon, as it coordinates so well with the ink and cardstock colors. Wish I had the funds to splurge on purchasing it, but I usually shop the bargain bin at Michaels!

My favorite ribbon has to be any satin ribbon. It add so much shine and dimension to just about any card that I use it on!

There are so many different types of ribbon to choose from these days and I like to use all kinds, but I would have to say I use more Stampin Up.

This is too hard …. I like organdy, love the new velvet ribbons, satin looks so elegent. I really can’t say which is my fave except a card is not complete without ribbon.
I love any ribbon…lol! I think right now my favorites are the SU striped ribbon and also the polytwill. I think every card I make has ribbon on it! I love your blog. Great blog candy! I am a hoarder of ribbon. I have tons, but I rarely use it! I like grosgrain the best, I think, even though I think sheer is easiest to tie. I also like the looks of satin and velvet ribbon.

…just kidding ;)…wouldn’t be great if you could ‘hear’ someones tone of type? I always worry that someone won’t get that I’m joking… My favorite ribbon has always been grosgrain…but anything wider than 1/2″. I love how it ties and it lays just right. There is a twill Martha Stewart ribbon that is another new love. I have been using it almost as much as my grosgrain. …oh, and I am a huge fan of SU’s new skinny twill…and I don’t usually like skinny ribbons…ok…that’s not one love…does that disqualify me??

Hi Sharon! Hmmm…my abosolute favorite ribbon is one I scarely use because it’s not only EXPENSIVE, it’s hard to find! It’s a 1″ wide verigated raw silk ribbon and it’s so scrumptious! I try to use it very sparingly and for very special cards. The last bit I found was while I was in Montreal visiting…I bought all she had but it was only 6 or 7 metres. After this is gone, there is no more! I almost panic when I use a piece now! lol…I am sick I know!!

My favorite ribbon is sheer and soft and flexible with polka dots.
ooops, typo above—meant sparingly, not scarely….don’t know where my head is this morning! LOL
My favorite ribbon is May Arts 3/8″ sheer polka dot organza. It is perfect for cards…I have lots of ribbon but keep going back to this one. It comes in tons of colors but I have to say pink and white are the two colors I go to most often.
I would leap with joy if I could win a Scor-Pal.

WOW Sharon, what fabulous blog candy!! I have wanted a Scor-Pal but just haven’t ordered one…silly me!! My favorite ribbon is the wide satin. It makes such an elegant bow….sometimes that’s the only embellie needed. I also love the new PTI satin polka dot ribbon…absoutely luscious!!
My favorite “ribbon” is really not! Strips and cords of leather add such a vintage feel to my work. It come in such deepth of color; rich and deep. Anything looks good dangling from a leather ribbon.
I LOVE ribbon……all kinds of ribbon. I do however always seem to choose grosgrain. It seems to work with just about everything. Stampin’Up seems to have the best ribbons out there. They are so easy to work with.
ooh, that’s a toughy, because I love ribbon. have a lot of it. favourite colour would be chocolate, but i like the striped ribbon from SU!. very fave would have to be the satin. haven’t tried velvet though and if i had that might be a close one.

OMG!!!! A Scor-Pal is at the top of my “want” list!!! You can do soooo many things with them!!! My favorite type of ribbon is 1.5″ velvet ribbon. I love to put a rubber stamp on it and emboss it with an iron. I get my velvet from Strano Designs - and it’s not too expensive. Love it!!

My “favorite” ribbon is any ribbon that is tied so beautifully on one of your cards! I am drawn to any ribbon with polka dots and am loving Papertrey’s new ribbon collection. SU taffeta is great, too, and I love the striped grosgrain. OK, that’s three favorites but choosing a favorite ribbon is like picking a favorite child… I just can’t do it!

My favorite ribbon hmmm….I think it really comes down to anything grosgrain and polka dotted. My mom would always put ribbon in my pigtails when I was a kid. The kind of pigtails only a mother can do, where your eyebrows pull back from the sheer tightness! She would make a big deal of picking out the ribbons and the polka dots were my most favorite one. So, now when she sees my workspace and “comments” on the mess of ribbon I have all over I tell her that I hold her personally responsible for my madness!!

Ribbon huh…. well I like a lot of different ribbons. But I would say the silk ribbons are my most favorite. Infact the LSS has this wider silk ribbon that I found and love. You ahve some of the gold that I sent you. Its just awesome ribbon.

Originally, I did not think I wouild like the 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon from Stampin’Up. But, since using it, I just think it is looks so much nicer and richer than the narrow, even on smaller projects. I hope your random generator picks my number for the Scor-Pal! LOL! I look at your blog everyday.

I love ribbon floss. It is thin and stays curly so it looks wonderful hanging from a card. I sometimes use it to tie through the holes of buttons before I attach them to a card.
It’s so hard to pick just one. I love all the SU ribbons, especially the in colors. I also really love all kinds of wired ribbons for gift wrapping. But my absolute favorite is SU’s wide grosgrain. I think…

I absolutely LOVE gross-grain ribbon of any color. I think it looks so clean and classic. However, I’m a sucker for the $1 ribbon at Michael’s. Seems I just have to have every one of them! If I’m using the ribbon as a closure on say, a journal, I really like to use silk ribbon as it drapes much nicer.

I absolutely love the wide chocolate satin ribbon from SU. I wish I could buy it on a roll by itself. I ordered some from Flourishes thinking it would be the same but the color does not match. My favorite ribbon, is ALL ribbon
But if I have to pick just one, my favorite is half inch wide white grosgrain because you can dye it any color you want and it’s just so versatile. It’s not too wide, not too skinny…. love it!
My absolute favorite would have to be SU’s retired taupe grosgrain. I’m almost out of that favorite color. boo hoo!
I really like SU’s ribbon best because it coordinates so well. I love the new striped grosgrain, it would be more perfect if it were just a tad narrower, but I love it as is, too!

Anyway, I LOVE ribbon as well, and collect all the little scraps I can find! I have lots of fun with rick rack (not really ribbon, but close), satin ribbons, and sheer ribbon.

Awesome blog candy, Sharon! How I’d love to win a Scor-Pal! I love all ribbon, but my very favorite is the silk ribbon by May Arts. Archiver’s has it every now and then and I’m determined to find all I can lay my hands on. It ties and hangs beautifully.
First, I just I have to say that I just LOVE your blog header. I always imagine that you have a little lake in the middle there and Mr. Darcy is walking towards me! LOL!
Now the ribbon question is a tough one, because you’re asking me to call one a favorite. That’s like asking which one of my children is a favorite and you know what an uproar that would cause (alright, that’s probably a bit of an exaggeration!). Sharon, I’ve cleared a place of honor on my table, have a lamp set up so the area is in the spotlight, and placed a big note that says ‘coming soon, Scor-Pal from Sharon’ right in the center of this (now) very-bare area. Too presumptuous?!?!?
A gal can dream, can’t she?? Oh, how I would LOVE to win this candy!! I’ve had my eye on a Scor-Pal for SO long now……and you have one that needs a good home. Maybe this is destiny, huh?? I’ll keep my fingers (and toes!) crossed, in hopes that I’m having a lucky day on the 17th.
Like everyone else, I love ribbon. Period. Any kind, any print, any color, any width….I love it all. The kind that I use most often, though, is 3/8-inch sheer brown polka-dotted—-I can’t begin to count the number of rolls I’ve purchased since I started cardmaking. (Even the big rolls don’t last long!) Since I invented my ribbon blossom, I find myself using a TON of ribbon—and I LOVE it! I’m a ribbon addict-collector-hoarder-coveter-fan, and I don’t want to be ‘cured’!

My favorite ribbons are ones that are shear and two toned, but I don’t remember the manufacturer. I have several of them in different shades. I do love the new tafetta ribbons and find them very nice to use, as they are flexible and not too bulky when tied. Thanks for all the ideas you share and I’ll be back tomorrow for the challenge!

Oh, wow honey- I love it all, but right now my favorite is the 5/8 inch solid satin at Wal-Mart. Easy to work with, makes great bows and cheap, cheap, cheap. $.25 per yard with 15 yards on a roll- so I try to buy all the “new” unopened rolls that they have each time I go!

I love satin ribbon. I just love the look of it, it is so elegant. Unfortunately the price of it is a bit much. And I have nowhere locally to buy it. I can’t seem to buy ribbon without being able to see it and touch it. Second favorite and what I tend to use a lot is gingham.
I love grosgrain ribbon because it’s’ so easy to work with and sits well on projects - stitched especially - and gingham is a close second!

I love the dry embossing that you do with them Sharon - its fantastic. My favourite ribbon at the moment are the wonderful new ones being released since last month by PTI. I’m not a huge fan of ribbon. Not sure why. I just seem to have a hard time adding it to any project. But if I had to pick a favorite it would be a organza type….soft color and simple to tie.

My absolute favorite ribbon? I once went to a store in Toronto Ontario Canada called Mokuba. (I think they had a website too)They had the most delicious ribbons! Pleated satins and sheers, lucious velvets, beaded, embroidered, anything you could imagine. For cardmaking I love plain solid satin ribbon in any color and width.

My favorite ribbon would have to be SU grosgrain. There is so much you can do with it.
That is too cool of you to give away a Scor-Pal! Such a good idea, although I can’t quite justify one to myself at the moment. As for favorite ribbon, I have to say I adore the little Offray MicroSpools. Ok, they’re cheap, but they also come in so many fun colours and patterns and styles! Plus, being cheap, I can get a whole bunch of them to play with. As they’re small ribbon, not bigger than 1/4″ wide it’s pretty much guaranteed I can get it into a project if I want. And 9 feet for $1.50 is pretty good. I get them at Omer DeSerres, a major art store chain that has a scrapbooking section. Love it!
Ribbon - hmmmm… I keep buying it but do not seem to use it as much as I would like - not sure why. But I do LOVE anything with polka-dots. That has to be my favorite. My favorite ribbon is SU grosgrain. I love all types of ribbon but usually seem to reach for that. I’ve never commented on anyone’s blog before but wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoy you and everything you share with us.

So hard to pic a favorite ribbon, I would have to sa I love sheer ribbon with polka dots, any brand and I love all of the stampin’ up stiped and stitched ribbon!!! I would love to win a scor-pal too!!! Could this be my lucky day?

What wonderful blog candy! I am very easy to please. My favorite ribbon is organdy ribbon. I think it comes in such beautiful colors, and for me, it is easier to tie than others. Sometimes I feel like I am all thumbs when I try to tie ribbon!
My favorite ribbon is any that has a print on it. I love bright colors. I usually use ribbon that is 1/2″ wide because it is easier to work with.

Confession time here……. (whispers….) I’m soooo ribbon challenged!! I’ve tried blaming it on the fact that I only have boys so have not had practiced putting ribbon’s in a little girls hair….but in all honesty….I don’t think that would have helped!
Like DP, I’ve bought ribbons (some SU, some from Target, some from my LSS) but I don’t reach for them, ’cause I know that I will be frustrated and disappointed in how my ribbon looks on my project.
That confession done, I hope that I still have a chance at the score-pal….I’d like to think that I might be able to figure that out! LOL

No wonder you have tons of comments–a great candy! I love ribbons too, but really love the rich simplicity of a satin ribbon–about 3/4 to an inch wide, I think! At least that’s how I’m feeling about it today!!
Oh my. That’s like asking me to pick my favorite child!! I will say taffeta, with velvet as a close second. The one I use most is grosgrain or polka dot organdy though.
I have just started doing cards and such, but at the present time, I have some white sheer ribbon with gold flecks that I have really enjoyed using. I have some black also, but haven’t used it yet, but as soon as the right project comes along, I know I will love it!

Of course the answer to that question changes depending on the day but I love the chocolate chip satin ribbon. It’s so classy looking. But I also love the ginghams. What a wonderful blog candy! Just look at how many of us are pathetic!
I love most all ribbons! I’m really liking SU!’s wide grosgrain, and I do like organdy for a softer look - particularly if it’s black with white polka dots, which I wish SU! sold by the roll. I also have had fun coloring white organdy to match my projects, so it’s a very versatile ribbon, and I’m bummed that SU! stopped selling it by the roll. After making a card at my upline’s with the Pomegranate and Chocolate ribbon SU! had for their holiday promotion, I really wish I’d bought some! I don’t care for scallopy ribbon, and I’m so-so on the gingham ribbon. There’s my two cents… or three… or four…
My favorite ribbon is anything by SU. I have lots of their ribbon and it always finishes a project off so nicely. I like the taffeta best, but have mostly grosgrain.

well, since you asked. my favorite ribbon for a while was the sheer organdy kind. so beautiful on packages. i also had little run with some hand-dyed silks. i mean the variegated colors, TDF!!! And of course anything polka dotted (still love those, especially contrasting color combos) But right now, I would love some trimmed out ribbons. Gobs of them. Like a lime green ribbon with a loopy edging in aqua, and pink and orange too. Tiny pom-pom like things. Anything ornate, but not fussy, and more than one color. KWIM?!!!
My favorite ribbon is grosgrain gingham check ribbon. I like the look of the wider width ribbons, but I haven’t used because I have trouble tying pretty bows.
I love all ribbon, but my favs to use are mid size organdy.
Right now I am enjoying the new papertrey ribbon. I have always loved the polk a dot ribbon too. I like how they offer the variety in the same color. I like to do lots of altered items.

Wow! Would I love to have one of those! I have been making do with my paper trimmer because of all the cute projects on the Scor-Pal website. My absolute favorite ribbon (which I definitely hoard!) is the Stampin’ Up! taffeta. It is so soft and ties so beautifully, you can’t make a mistake with it. GREAT blog candy!!! Man-o-man to say I LOVE ribbon does not come close to covering my addiction!!!! I CAN NOT even go into a hobby store without walking out with at least one new roll!!! At this moment in time my favorite is the SU striped grosgrain, if you have not seen it in person you are missing out, the catty doesn’t come close to showing how beautiful it is and it is totally “bow friendly” I was able to see and use it for the first time at a stamp camp last week at Amber P. and “fell in love” now I can’t wait to get some!!!!
I really like all of the SU ribbon. I love how is coordinates with the paper and ink (I’m all about matching). My favorite SU ribbon is the Taffeta, with the Satin ribbon a close second. How they finish a card is scrumptious!

But, how can I choose a favorite ribbon? That’s almost as bad as you asking to choose which of my children was my favorite (okay, yes, I’m really overstating it :).
I honestly don’t have many fancy ribbons. I had some white twill tape that I rather enjoyed using, and now I have some cheap 1/4″ satiny ribbon (JoAnn’s) that perfectly matches the Perfect Plum cardstock, and I like that. I need to explore fun ribbons a bit more.

My absolute favorite ribbon is the SU! Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon! I love it and I hoard it because it can’t be bought any longer. But my favorite ribbon to use is “old faithful” 1/4″ grograin. I try to use it on everything!!

my favorite ribbons are ones that match the card/project i am making. i love that su matches everything. but i do buy ribbon at craft stores so i love what is on sale.
with a husband who is a teacher and i a stay at home mom- who homeschools (so we buy all our school books and things) i have to look for bargins. and so with that said, if i win the score pad it would be #1 a miracle, #2 a blessing and #3 awesome.

I’ve just signed up for your blog and I’m loving it. I love ribbon, too and I have to say I love the aqua mist satin ribbon by Papertrey. I like the width, not too wide or too thin, just right. I love satin ribbon of all kinds though. I find organdy just a little too sheer on most projects. I do like to use funky print ribbons on occasion as well. You used a brown ribbon recently that looked like molten chocolate–I was eyeing it!

Wow– That’s a hard one to pick my favorite— It really depends on the card I’m making. I use a ton of organdy ribbon for gifts and gift baskets though so I guess that would have to be my favorite since I always go to it……. I do have to say that I love using yarn on my projects too. It just makes them so fun!!

Wow! What a generous give-away! I love so many different ribbons, but right now I’m stuck on A Muse’s stitched grosgrain ribbon. My favorite color is popsicle pink.
Ribbon — I love it all! If I absolutely have to pick an all-time favorite, it would have to be the extra wide satin in any color, but especially the deep, rich colors. On a daily basis, though, it seems like grosgrain is my staple.

Grosgrain ribbon is my favorite, unless the card is on the more elegant side, then satin fits the bill.

I actually don’t use it too often, but I just love the look and feel of wide satin ribbon………….any card in the gallery with that type of ribbon/bow catches my eye right away and is usually so much more elegant because of it……

I love all ribbon regardless of color, where it came from or price! My perfect ribbon is the one that matches perfectly to the project I’m working on. And I LOVE hunting for it! Sometimes its a rich chocolate wide grosgrain, but then it might be be a soft silky pink satin, but then again, sometimes I get lucky with the perfect pattern ribbon-gotta love the pattern ribbons!
How many of you have ever made something JUST SO you could use a special ribbon! Ahhhh, now that’s ribbon love!

I think I am making up for it from when I was a little girl; I wanted a pony tail or pigtails but my mom ALWAYS gave me a pixie haircut–thus, no ribbons in MY hair!!

They had 3 different colors and they match the ‘07 in colors, true thyme, cranberry crisp, and buckaroo blue. I hardly ever use it b/c it is all I have, so it only goes on really special projects. I just love ribbon of all types don’t know if I really have a favorite, but I love the sheer poka dotted ribbon, and silk ribbon, and grosgrain, and wired edge, oh and there is that lovely taperstry ribbon that is to dye for.

I love the organdy ribbon in any color and width but especially in burgandy and pinks. You can layer them over other ribbons to add a little sheen and a hint of different color.

I really love the double stitched ribbon and wish SU! carried it in EVERY SU! color! It’s soft enough to tie easily and I use it all the time. I also really, really love the Pomegranate and Chocolate wide satin ribbons - they are just luscious!

I love grossgrain ribbon and the sheers. Sheers add such a soft feeling to cards and since I make a lot of flower cards they are a good fit often. Also love the grossgrains - just wish I had them in every colour and various widths.

Well, I definitely have to say I like all kinds of ribbon! I love adding ribbon to a card! It just does so much! If I had to choose a specific ribbon though I would honestly either choose SU! grosgrain ribbon (any color of course) or their taffeta ribbon! I love the colors and feel of it! I love any and all wired ribbon. I like my bows to be crisp and the wire helps keep the bows in the exact shape I want. When I ship, I just stuff some tissue in the loops and it arrives perfect.
After that, grosgrain is my most used ribbon. You can attach it with everything - glue, adhesives (dots, etc), staples, brads, you get it! I gotta have every color - need to have a choice.

Hello:) I’m new here, but I thought I’d leave a post because this is a fun topic! And who could pass up a chance for a cool tool?
I don’t have a particular type of ribbon that I love best. What I love is the process of discovery, in two parts. First, I love to find completely random fun, pretty, or otherwise aesthetically pleasing bits of ribbon at the bottom of $1 boxes, at garage/estate sales (where talented older ladies left yards of the most expensive lace behind for their sons to sell for pennies), or other odd places (like on gift boxes at the check out line at Fruit Basket). Then, I love the thrill of finding just the right scrap of ribbon for just the right project. Like the white lace with blue butterflies (probably from the 80s, found at a garage sale) that works perfectly for a little girl’s birthday card:) Or the sexy red silk ribbon with the names of red wines on it for a party invitation, found in the $1 box at Michael’s.
I love designer ribbon, too, but somehow the marketed matching just doesn’t appeal to me as much as this more messy process of discovery:) It also allows me to accumulate a lot of scraps for a relatively small cost; gotta love that!

I seem to use organdy the most. I love the new SU taffeta ribbons too. Most of my ribbons are polka-dotted though I’m really drawn to all the pretty patterns out there. I think I just like ribbon!
Oh, fun question! I absolutely adore all of American Crafts coordinated ribbon collections. They are so fabulous that I don’t even use them!! They just sit there looking pretty in their jars(5-6 coordinated spools of all different types of ribbons –satin, grosgrain, patterned, solid, ric-rac, felt, etc. etc. etc.!!– per package). It’s sick - I have to have it all, but then hate to use it for fear of running out. Good grief!!

But, lately, I have been making bows and LOVE how the SU tafetta ribbon is so pliable. But, good ole tried and true grosgrain is always a fav of mine.

For myself, I’ve got to say that I’m on the beginning edge of loving ribbons. I became aware of my burgeoning interest when SU retired the organdy. I didn’t realize that I was using more and more ribbon until I’d reach for the rolls of wide organdy and then be disappointed that I couldn’t use it on cards that would be for workshops.
A couple of years ago, I wouldn’t have thought “What a bummer!” in reference to not being able to use a particular ribbon. So I guess that the wide, organdy ribbon would definitely be a favourite. Although, come to think of it, I did end up with several handfuls of the wide satin ribbon spools on SU’s recent 2 for 1 sale and I certainly enjoy the feel of that ribbon! I just took a quick look at my stash of 1/4″ grosgrain - I’ve got spools of almost every colour that SU offers (along with a bunch of the ones that were retired).
Oh, my! I’ve got a feeling that I’m headed down a ribboned road and the only salvation might be a 12-step ribbon-aholic, recovery program.
Enjoy your hundreds of emails. Perhaps they’ll hit the thousand mark soon. That would be so cool.

I’m not exactly sure what it would be called but I love the embroidered look ribbon - looks like a little bit of an embroidered seat? Anyway, that would be my favorite but I rarely ever use it, mostly because it’s ususally so expensive. After that, what I like and user most is printed grosgrain - polka dots, flowers, stripes, etc.
I am ADDICTED to ribbon, everytime I go a craft store, there I am walking out the rolls of it. I have a drawer in my craft just full of it. If it is pretty, shiny……ok I really am not that picky. I wish I could afford to have every roll there is in the SU catty. Thanks

My favorite ribbon?!! Oh my! I love it all! I’m such a ribbon ho! My favorite really depends on the project I am using it for. Sometimes a nice ‘plain’ ribbon is just the icing on the cake for a card… and sometimes - you really need some nice fancy stuff!

Wowzers!! What terrific blog candy. I have been eyeing this for awhile. I am a total ribbon addict. My daughter works in marketing and saves all of her ribbon from her many client gifts for me. Yum!! Some of that ribbon is really incredible, but I don’t know where it comes from. (Especially the gifts from Martha Stewart, Inc) I’d say the ribbon I use most often is May Arts because several LSS carry it and I can get lots of variety for a good price. My current favorite is SU! satin Purely Pomegranate. I totally love it’s rich look and am kicking myself for not getting the chocolate.

I love ribbon I have tubs of it that I get in dollar binds, on sale or by the yard at scrapbook stores. But my fav. is SU ribbon it goes with my cardstock and I usually can match it up to pattern paper I get in the store. I also really like printed twill ribbon. It is great to use with holiday and sport pages and cards.

OMG OMG OMG - Now THAT’S what I call blog candy! crossing my fingers (and I’ll pay extra shipping …). Now my favourite ribbon would be …… ‘an equisite piece of antique trim, found in great condition among a trunk of treasures in the attic of my grandmothers house (OK, so my grandmother didn’t have an attic but we’re dreaming right?). As I gently pick it up from the trunk, I see the sunlight catching the beautiful rose pink and avocado green thread of the antique rose embroidery on the trim, and notice how beautifully it blends with the natural ivory of the scalloped lace edge. As beautiful as this trim is in the physical sense, the most beautiful part is the knowledge that is was chosen by and precious to my grandmother’

My favorite ribbon is the satin ribbon carried by Flourishes. Also SU’s Purely Pomagranate (sp?) and the Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon…this ribbon is so easy on the fingers when making a bow…Plus it is just plain elegant

I can’t believe you asked maybe the toughest question there is to answer! I think grosgrain ribbons are my favourite…I’m using alot of SU right now because it’s so easy to coordinate the ribbon, ink, and paper.
All things grosgrain! So many different colors, styles, and widths I can do any project with grosgrain.

What fabulous Blog Candy!! I’ve had the Scor-Pal on my wish list forever, and have been telling myself I could wait until Mother’s Day, but boy has it been hard! My favorite kind of ribbon…grosgrain, striped, polka-dotted, silk, taffeta, velvet….!!!
Well, if you saw my craft room you’ realize I can’t really pick just one. But…I do really love organdy ribbon. I love the light shimmer it gives off and the elegance it brings to a card.

My favorite kind of ribbon would have to be SU’s wide grosgrain. I LOVE it and can’t imagine how I lived without it - thank goodness it’s affordable! 1/4″ grosgrain just looks so sad and tiny on card now that I’m so used to using the wider ribbon. My very favorite ribbon is the ruffled ribbon from May Arts. I like the pink best and I am hoarding it and very rarily use it! I love almost all ribbon though. My second favorite is 5/8″ grograin in celery green. Love your blog!

Awesome awesome blog candy - especially since Diana upped the ante. My favourite ribbon is the wide chocolate and pomegranate ribbons SU had out before Christmas and I stocked up on them when they went 1/2 price in December. I hope they bring more of those out in the next catty - they feel and look great on a project.

I’m not sure if this qualifies for ribbon but my favorite is a flat scalloped eyelet. And if you could see my ribbon stash you would understand why it’s hard to pick just one favorite. I think I’m mostly drawn to anything that will produce a vintage look when adhered to my project. I always check your blog first thing in the morning to see what awesome project you have to show us. I love all kinds of ribbon, but especially find myself drawn to ribbon that is printed or a plaid. I have the Score-It but the Score Pal in on my “I want it!” list. I love the idea of multiple rows for scoring.
I love organdy! I use the widest I can get away with on cards because I love the way the bows look. I just found your blog and am enjoying it.

I have been wanting to play with one of these for so long — it really needs to live at my house. Thanks for the chance! Now, Ribbon — I almost always use SU ribbon — I drool over May arts and any ribbon at my LSS BUT the ribbon that truly has my heart is one I have never found again. It was a beautiful silk — but the colors - well, they looked hand dyed so the color varied throughout the ribbon. It felt wonderful - looked great, tied perfectly and cost a lot (for ribbon) and I have never found it again. SO - my favorite ribbon ever is only but a dream…

I go nuts at Walmart with those little tiny spools that are 73 cents. I will often have 10 of those in my cart just because. I would love to have the whole SU collection but only have a few. I love the BIG rolls of ribbon at places like Costco. Wired ribbon makes those of us with no talent look better than just adequate. I also have an old stash of hard ribbon…it has wired edges and the whole ribbon is solid but very flexible…sort of like the stuff they make twist ties out of…you know, those things you use to close a loaf of bread. I don’t think it’s available for purchase anymore but it should be.

Honestly–my favorite kind of ribbon is the one that matches the project I am working on what ever that may be. I usually don’t pick out ribbon till I am half way or more through a project. If it could be 1/2″ (or wider) double sided satin–so much the better!

I love ribbon, too. I love garage sales and thrift stores. It’s fun to pick up what others don’t want. I’m on a budget, so this is a great way to stretch my stamping dollar. I like to challenge myself. I let the ribbon “speak to me” as to what design the card should be. It’s amazing. Each ribbon has it’s own personality!

I love to use the Ribbon Originals from Stampin’ Up!. I especially like the one with the chocolate satin ribbon. What I especially like about the Ribbon Originals is that they come with several on one card that are all fabulous, which allows me to indulge my ribbon addiction with several new ribbons at one time, and tell my husband I only bought one ribbon product! lol

Sharon - I love your blog and was excited to see your blog candy (doubled even!). My favorite ribbon is the SU tafetta - pink and blue!! I really do use it all the time! I just love the feel of it and it works or nearly every project! A close 2nd favorite of mine is the SU ribbon original packages - but those are generally too expensive for me to use regularly!

As far as ribbon, I like Stampin Up! and have all the rolls of original grosgrain and some of the newer colours, along with the 1/4″ organza, some of the stitched and gingham. I don’t yet own any of the packages which coordinate with the paper. If I can find a good deal, I also buy ribbon from Michaels, the Dollar Store, and ribbon by the yard at my local stamp store.

My favorite ribbon is a sparkly white organdy ribbon. it’s cheap, I get it a Michaels. I love how sparkly it is and then when you heat it, it crinkles very nicely. It goes with almost everything and I can dye it if I need to.

There was a spool of burgandy silky-ish ribbon I had gotten out of the bargain bin at Michael’s about a year ago that I wish I could find again. I loved that ribbon and used it all up for Christmas cards this past year.

I too love SU ribbon and am always checking them out at craft stores. One of my latest passions has been the variety of different colored “crocheted” type ribbons. They give cards and scrap pages a sort of vintage look. Can’t find a color you need, buy cream or white and use SU ink refils to color them to the desired color!!

I have not used much ribbon on my cards in the past, but I am starting to more and more. So I don’t have much experience with various kinds of ribbon. So far my favorite is 5/8″ satin ribbon with the little loops along the edges.
Well, I do have to admit that I’ve never met a ribbon I haven’t loved. And any craft project I do is naked until there’s ribbon involved. I guess I can say that I love Stampin’ Up!’s new wide grosgrain. Especially in red. Yummy!

I love the 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon from stampin’ up. Favorite colors would be chocolate chip, old olive, and regal rose. It adds so much to a card. I’d love to have a scor-pal!
I would love to have all Stampin’ up ribbon but haven’t bought any yet (gasp)! Mine comes from Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or Wal-Mart. When you are just getting started tools, etc. comes first.

Wowza - what amazing blog candy! Your blog is SOOO one of my favorites - it is one I check every morning! Your ribbon question is hard for me - I bought some fun cheap ribbon on wooden spools at Michaels that I find myself using sometimes and there are a ton of different kinds. I really like the fuzzy ones (SU has a few of these on their carded ribbons, too), and I am coveting some of papertrey’s new Swiss dot ribbons - they are so pretty!

I love all ribbon but if I were to pick my “favorite ribbon” hands down it would be the new ribbon from Papertrey Ink. The colors are beautiful and it folds and ties so smoothly.

My favorite ribbon is from a box that is handed down from mother to mother in our family. Every time a child is born, this special box and ribbon is used by the last mother to package a special gift to the new mother and the name and date is noted in the lid of the box. This box and pale blue ribbon have been in our family for over 60 years. It is amazing to see how pristine the box and ribbon are. I did my best to find a pale blue ribbon that matched and used it to make thank you cards for the box recipient to use. Not being a mother, I have never received the box, but gleefully watch as it is presented, eager to review the lid recordings. It is fun to see when the box was presented to my mother on my birth.
A Scor-pal would be so nice, I have been having score issues lately. And I love making boxes and things like that so this would be invaluable! As far as my favorite ribbon, I love the look of antique ribbon, especially on those old wooden spools! But I have never used any, don’t even own any! LOL! My second fav is grosgrain. It’s so useful and versatile.

Anyway, I LOVE taffeta ribbon - any kind. I like it solid, striped, tinted, etc. I will take it any way I can get it…I also like it in any width it is available: 3/8″ or 1/4″ or 5/8″ are my favorite…it is so wonderful and crisp looking on a card or project! YUM!

And I love ribbon. All ribbon. Printed ribbon, plain ribbon, stitched ribbon, shiny ribbon, skinny ribbon, fat ribbon, yarn, fibers, I love them all. But I use them on sewing projects mostly.
Tonight it’s the black wide organdy that I used when I did your challenge, I guess I really like the Chocolate Ribbon, but tomorrow I might have an intense passion for dotted grosgrain or stipes. What a hard question! Thanks for all you do.

Love your blog - always in awe of your work. I LOVE ribbon and have tons of it but my favorite is black & white gingham. That touch of black seems to add just the right touch to many designs. Second favorite would have to be luscious double faced satin.

Ribbon, ribbon and more ribbon! I just love all types of ribbon. I think it really depends on what card I’m making. I use organdy for an elegant card, gingham and double stitched for an everyday card and the little black dress of ribbon, gosgrain for everything in between! I love ribbons but living in Vermont limits the options to go to the specialty stores that would prompt alot of buying. I have found that I go back to SU’s Blue Bayou ribbon, the most often. I absolutely love all the felt ribbons from places like Queen and co. All the different colors, shapes, there are just so many things that you can use it for. Cards, scrapbooking pages and even altered projects. They have ones for each season as well as different holidays. There are just so many different possiblities.
The love the wide silk ribbon from SU for its richness but I love the dollar spools for its affordibility!

I think I should buy stock in any ribbon company! Especially one that makes moire taffeta ribbon. I love the shimmery took and the shading adds texture and elegance at the same time. My mother used it for my hair bows, I used it on my three girls’ hair and now that they are gone I use it on my cards. How Beautifully a Scor-Pal would compliment this gorgeous ribbon!

My favorite type of ribbon is the sheer stuff that forgives a novice knot-maker! I rarely use ribbon on my cards, but I’m beginning to branch out after joining SCS. I absolutely adore your cards made with the Cuttlebug and Scor-Pal. They put the Scor-Pal at the top of my current wish list!
I’ve read about the Scor-Pal but haven’t seen one in action. My fingers are crossed that this blog candy comes my way! Great site, BTW. I’m just getting into card making…I’ll be back here for ideas!
You know…it does help if I follow directions and tell you what kind of ribbon I like. D’oh!! May Arts. They have a leaf-shaped ribbon that is out of this world and I’m addicted to it.

Once I brokedown and ordered the SU ribbon, I have to say that I love it! I think my favorite is the wide satin they had in the winter mini - purely pom. I didn’t get the chocolate and I’m kicking myself! : )
I really like the double stitched InColor ribbon by Stampin UP. I need to buy full spools of each color before they’re retired! Also like the striped Grosgrain. That’s going in my next order!

My favorite ribbon is by May Arts and it’s SO COOL! It has approximately three equal parts… the edges are grosgrain and the center is satin. YUMMY! It comes in several different colors and I use it all the time. I fell in love the moment I saw it when I worked in an LSS about 2 years ago and I still love it.

Wow, awesome blog candy!! My favorite ribbon on cards is the SU Pomegrante, but my favorite ribbon for other craft projects is wired ribbon as I am “bow challenged” and the wire enables me to make better bows!
I don’t think they have made a ribbon that I did not like!!! Although SU and Papertrey are at the top of the list.

Wow, favorite ribbon that is sucha tough one. I love all ribbon, especially shen I find the oerfect ribbona nd it insoires a card. lately I have been liking 1″ grosgrain that is thinner and not as thick…I like ginghams becasue they help bring in multple colors and if I had to be a favorite color right now I guess it would be Chocolate Brown with a tan or caramel color, It can go almost anything…

Hi Sharon, I am a newer reader of your blog, and I am enjoying your liberal use of ribbon on your cards! My favorite ribbons are the Christmas Ribbons at Costco. I love how they show up long before Christmas, signaling the change of the seasons! I always get at least 2 a year to bulk up my stash!
I’d soooooo love a scor-pal…….and as for ribbon…..well, I LOVE ribbon! Although I have to say if there was one I truly loved it would be this gorgeous ric rak that I’ve found, not plain ric rak, but this beautiful one with loops off it in various colours.

I tend to stick with SU products, so right now my absolute favorite ribbon is the chocolate chip taffeta. I love how the edges of the ribbon are darker and the center is lighter in color…love, love, love it!

The SU ribbons with the extra sticking line (double stitch, single down the middle), because toy can pull the stitch line and add al sorts of addtional texture to cards, scrapbooks.

Hi Sharon, have been very taken with your for some time now. I have quite a folder now of your ideas and projects. I have seen so many comments and projects made with this apparently superb Scor-pal that I would truly love to try it out for myself but it is not available in the UK.
I love working with pure silk ribbon even the tiny 2mm wide because you can make such cute tiny bows with it that stay in place.
