Birthday Bunny

I used one of the latest Easter releases by Flourishes, Easter Bunnies, to make this darling little girl’s birthday card — these are just the sweetest little bunnies in this set.  This is also for two challenges — the sketch today at SCS and a challenge being run by Flourishes in their Member Company forum at SCS to make a card incorporating the details found in a little girl’s dress — how fun.  You can read about that challenge here.  I also attempted to work this into yesterday’s color challenge at SCS — Orchid Opulence, Sage Shadow and Kraft — but the Kraft just wasn’t working for me here, so I used Barely Banana in it’s place, and that made me much happier!  Here it is:

The elements I used here that would relate to a little girl’s dress are the Swiss Dots (from embossing in the Cuttlebug), the gingham ribbon (all little girl’s dresses need a big bow), the picot trim, the button and the pretty, soft colors.  Loved this sketch as well — fun with all the panels!!!  The image was colored with an Aquapainter and ink refills and can you see his tail?  I pulled a bit of cotton off a cotton ball and glued it on — so fun!!!  And even though this is supposedly an Easter set, merely using a different sentiment turns this into a wonderful card for a little girl or baby.  I am certainly not packing this set away after Easter!!!!

  • Stamps:  Easter Bunnies and Many Sentiments by Flourishes

  • Paper:  Orchid Opulence, Sage Shadow, Barely Banana, White

  • Ink:  Same as above plus Pumpkin Pie, Versa Fine Onyx Black

  • Accessories:  Aquapainter, Ribbon, Picot Trim, Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots Folder, Button, Mounting Tape, Mini Glue Dots, Cotton Ball, Glue Pen

That’s it for now!!!  Thank you for stopping in and hope you all have a great day!!!

Awww, Sharon. This is just darling. I love the orchid opulence bunny, and that little chick is just darling. Your watercoloring is perfect, as usual, but I think the picot trim and gingham ribbon really make it soft and JUST like a little girls dress. Awesome! :) Kelly

This card is adorable, very sweet!! Funny how a mom of 4 boys is drawn to little girl cards. LOL That is exactly how I would have dressed a little girl, in frills! TFS

OMG! How cute. And you are so right about the sentiment! I was just thinking that Impress Rubber Stamp’s (Savvy) sentiment little cursive words “The world is waiting to meet you ” would make such a great baby shower card. I am always searching for that perfect sentiment for the recipient(s) that matches your creation and your creation is divine!!!! TFS your incredible talent. Just Awesome.

Cute card - love the ribbon you used for trim (you are the ribbon queen! Had to smile with the big bow story — first thought that came to mind was since you didn’t have a girl to dress up you can dress up a card instead :)
