So, to sign up for Define Your Life — just comment below, and tell me what color cardstock you seem to be grabbing for cards at this time of year!

This Blog Candy post will remain open until midnight on Saturday night, April 26, at which time I will have a random number generator pick the winner.

Thanks much!!! Good luck!!!

  6. Lisaon 22 Apr 2008 at 3:53 am

I’ve been in a barely banana mood lately. Not sure why. I love it though!

  7. Jenniferon 22 Apr 2008 at 4:02 am

I keep picking up purple. Oh and orange. And uhm, green. Oh I can’t forget blue! And red. I’m not so good at picking just ONE color that I use most coz I love them ALL. LOL!

  8. Jillon 22 Apr 2008 at 5:07 am

I stocked up on Cool Caribbean last year and right now that seems to be what I am going back to over and over again.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  9. Margaret Hillon 22 Apr 2008 at 5:23 am

Just love the wonderful ideas on your blog. You are such an inspiration. I’m really enjoying Gable Green right now–so bright, and fresh and Springlike.
A close second is Blush Blossom–it’s become a real favourite that I reach for often and goes with so much.

Thanks for such a fun contest.

  10. Kathy Don 22 Apr 2008 at 5:51 am

My last few projects have been beach or nautical theme, so I have been using Soft Sky as my main color. Thanks for the chance at blog candy!

  11. Linda Lon 22 Apr 2008 at 5:57 am

  13. Jules {Creative Makes}on 22 Apr 2008 at 6:21 am

I seem to be using green a lot at the moment, all types, from mossy to “dirty”.

Maybe it is the spring - summer type feeling going on…

    Jules (UK)

  14. Carolon 22 Apr 2008 at 6:26 am

I really don’t have one color I use more than others. I just pick up whatever I feel like at the moment or what would go best with the stamps I am using. I love all colors! Thanks for a chance to win!

  15. Angelaon 22 Apr 2008 at 6:38 am

I’ve been using Groovy Guava as much as I can while its still around — I’m going to miss it!!

  16. SueBon 22 Apr 2008 at 6:50 am

Love my plum and old olive … my fav color combination - and thanx for the inspiration and chance at t’riffic blog candy!

  17. Diana Curtison 22 Apr 2008 at 6:55 am

At this moment, I have been using sky blue and rose red. Look great together. All that could change since I really love pinks and browns. Oh I can’t decide. Thanks for the chance for blog candy.

  18. Diane Schultzon 22 Apr 2008 at 6:59 am

Right now I’ve been using tempting turquoise, pink, yellow, white and green. All the bright spring colors. Just loooove your blog and have it set up in my Outlook under RSS feeds. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful creations and the chance to win the blog candy.

  19. Becky Yoderon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:11 am

I’ve been using a lot of kraft color for my card base - sounds boring, but I love how I can mount something bright or soft on it and the colors of the stamping are always the focal point.

  20. Hopeon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:15 am

I’ve been grabbing whatever I fancy at the time - a whole variety of colours. It always depends on my mood :-)

Thanks for the chance at blog candy. I only recently found this site and it’s great - thanks for sharing.

  21. Renault Herringtonon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:18 am

LOVE your site. My favorite CS is Bright colors of Pink and Green.

  22. Judy (StampingQueenJAR)on 22 Apr 2008 at 7:24 am

Wow, Sharon, what great candy! That is an awesome set! I love the brighter greens this time of year!

  23. Michelle (CraftySpice)on 22 Apr 2008 at 7:24 am

I have been using Soft Sky a lot lately–It looks elegant with black and springy with certainly celery but always seems like a fresh choice. I need to restock before it’s gone. :-) Thank you for the chance at blog candy and also for the wonderful inspiration you provide on your blog.

  24. Karen D.on 22 Apr 2008 at 7:26 am

The colour that I seem to be going for lately is the celery greens (sorry I don’t have the SU cardstock). They have such a fresh feel to them and we have been waiting a long time for spring to arrive here in Canada.

  25. Michelle Nadraszkyon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:27 am

I seem to be reaching for brighter colors right now but, also neutrals like Black, Confetti White, Whisper White & Kraft.

  26. Amber H.on 22 Apr 2008 at 7:34 am

What? No ten minute card? I could have used a ten minute card this morning but I can take blog candy instead. Especially since i really want that set.

I have been going for black a lot to make my images/sentiments pop more. And it goes with any color. Other than that, I haven’t been picking any color over another more often. (It’s usaully whatever cardstock I have more of at the time! lol)

  27. Amanda Angerton 22 Apr 2008 at 7:35 am

I’ve been grabbing River Rock a lot lately. It’s a great neutral for card bases!

  28. Kerry Jon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:45 am

I know it’s odd - but I keep grabbing pumpkin pie - even though it doesn’t seem very springy! Thanks for the chance to win!!

  29. Sandraon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:45 am

Gotta say I love the pretty in pink and certainly celery. They look great together.

  30. Donnaon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:46 am

Hard to answer that question, but if I had to, I’d say turquoise. Frequently I choose my cs to match a patterned paper that I’m using. Groovy Guava is definitely one that I’ve enjoyed, though. Thanks again for your inspiration, Sharon!

  31. Melissaon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:48 am

I love your work!!! Bashful blue and Almost Amethyst!!

  32. Patricia Austinon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:49 am

That would be pink and or yellow, combined with blue and green.

  33. rebecca wheeleron 22 Apr 2008 at 7:55 am

  36. Jacque (SCS: Petals)on 22 Apr 2008 at 7:58 am

Wow, what a generous give-a-way! The color I seem to grab for most lately is Pretty in Pink, with Certainly Celery being a close second. I’m not sure why I grab pink since I really don’t care for the color in general…so it must be the season. Thanks for the chance to win!

  37. Angelon 22 Apr 2008 at 7:59 am

Hi Sharon! Hmmm…. I think I am always grabbing Soft Sky. I have got to stock up on it before it’s gone forever!!

  39. Karinon 22 Apr 2008 at 8:01 am

  40. ChrisEon 22 Apr 2008 at 8:02 am

I’ve been working on a couple of Mother’s Day gift sets, and seem to be using a lot of pretty in pink to go with my soft spring flowers!!

  45. Cynthiaon 22 Apr 2008 at 8:17 am

I am into Groovy Guava right now for some reason…I love Certainly Celery as my all time favourite colour though.

    Tracy

  53. Sherrion 22 Apr 2008 at 8:43 am

I’ve been using lots of pinks - pretty in pink…rose red (I know it’s not called pink, but I think it’s definitely a dark pink!)

  54. Pat (Just4Fun2 on SCS)on 22 Apr 2008 at 8:44 am

I seem to be doing a lot of Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip. Thanks for sharing!

  55. Marcia Luisaon 22 Apr 2008 at 8:46 am

As a beginner, your blog has been, and continues to be, of great inspiration, and a source for learning new techniques. Your tutorials are so well done, that I can follow along pretty well. Thanks. Presently I am reaching for River Rock, Real Red, Groovy Guava, and any of the pinks (Real Rose, Pretty in Pink are my favorites) the combos I get are refreshing and bright (at least to me).

  56. Jackieon 22 Apr 2008 at 8:49 am

Hot pink and lime green! With black for an accent. Sounds hideous, I know, but it actually isn’t if done right, I can’t seem to stay away from it!

  57. barb schramon 22 Apr 2008 at 8:49 am

I keep grabbing all the greens! I have vowed to take all the green cardstock out of my studio! Lol.

  97. Katieon 22 Apr 2008 at 10:34 am

I love the 10-minute card idea!

All my cards lately include oranges, yellows, or lavender. I sneek in light green here and there, too.

EVERYTHING has polka dots included either in the paper, stamp, or ribbon. I don’t usually do polka dots.
I didn’t even realize it until a friend said, “Boy, all your cards have polka dots. I love it!”

Polka dots just make me smile!

  98. Kriss Huelson 22 Apr 2008 at 10:37 am

I am and will forever be an Old Olive gal! It just seems to go with everything. Next in line is Pumpkin Pie. But not always with the Olive, or that would get pretty boring!

  99. buzzyon 22 Apr 2008 at 10:40 am

I wouldn’t say that is very fresh, but chocolate chip is calling to me. Maybe because it works so well with all of my favorite pinks!

  100. papercrazy1on 22 Apr 2008 at 10:49 am

It is definitely soft sky and I have to order more before it retires *sigh*

  103. Allisonon 22 Apr 2008 at 10:51 am

Thanks for the chance to win!

I just looked at my gallery, and I think the most common color I’ve been using is green (certainly celery or wild wasabi)…it just seems to *go* with everything…..maybe it’s because all the trees are starting to bloom and everything is getting *greener* outside every day…very exciting! :)

  116. Mary Fon 22 Apr 2008 at 11:38 am

Gosh, it seems like I’ve been using Wasabi (SU) and Regal Rose (SU) lately. Wish Spring and Mother’s Day that seems to be the main two colors. If I’m not using these, I’m reaching for some blues as well. Love, love, love your blog!!

  117. Denise Groveson 22 Apr 2008 at 11:38 am

I keep reaching for pink and green! I just can’t get enough!

Just love your blog. Look forward to seeing the 10 minute Tuesday card next week.

  118. Kathyon 22 Apr 2008 at 11:38 am

My colors are blue and brown — the colors of my new grandson’s nursery. I’ve done a card for my daughter and SIL and lots of thank you’s for her to send out. I’m ready to move onto Mother’s Day and a slight change of color, perhaps pink and brown?

  119. Joon 22 Apr 2008 at 11:43 am

  124. Susanneon 22 Apr 2008 at 12:11 pm

for some reason i’ve been gravitating towards river rock, basic black and whisper white. the black stamping on white, then matted in black or river rock is very striking. so i better look to replenshing my river rock before it is only a memory in SU cardstock choices. :)

  125. Bonnieon 22 Apr 2008 at 12:12 pm

I’ve been reaching for a light aqua with a soft yellow. Seems spring-y to me right now!

I love celery, but I’m ready to make some summer fun cards and I see them done in soft denim blue for some reason. Thought I’d work on some Bar-b-que cards and some Fourth of July cards. Last month I made a heap of spring cards that I am now using and I’m ready to move on to something new. Love reading everyone’s lcolor choices.

Right now, here in Oregon, we are having record cold temps - it’s the same in April as it was in January, doggone it!! But my colors have been inching towards spring - Always Amethyst, Blush, Soft Sky, Pretty in Pink, Red Rose or Pomegranate (not necessarily all at once). Anyway, thank you again!!

  343. Julia (artystamper)on 23 Apr 2008 at 3:37 pm

Hi Sharon - I’ve been using my new Summer Sun and Berry Sorbet from PTI lately they are great bright colors for spring!

  344. DawnieJaeon 23 Apr 2008 at 3:39 pm

I cannot keep my hands off this color combination: Close-to-Cocoa, Regal Rose & Pretty in Pink. I’m having a ball…

  345. terrion 23 Apr 2008 at 4:10 pm

I am using alot of rose red right now.

  346. Marilyn Yon 23 Apr 2008 at 4:25 pm

I’m ‘Defining my life’ with Pink Passion to celebrate Spring, Easter, Mother’s Day and just for the joy of living. Every day of the year is Spring….constant temperature, cool breeze, sunny, flowers all around and pollen everywhere because all the fruit trees are bursting with flowers. Everything’s great except for the vog (volcanic smog) in the air.

  347. Debbyon 23 Apr 2008 at 4:38 pm

I have been using a lot of bright colors lately. Real Red, Lovely Lilac, blues. But yesterday I found some 12 x 12 paper at a dollar store 4 for a dollar that is browns and pinks. So will be working with them this week.

I can not believe I just found your blog this very minute! Where the heck have I been! I can’t wait till I get home tonight to spend some time looking around. I love your SCS gallery. And what timing — great blog candy! I don’t often sign on to these but I would love this set so –what the heck. Thanks for the offer and the inspiration. Oh yea, my favorite colors right now are the East Coast Prep colors and the Summer Picnic — bright, cheery and fun!

  350. Joyceon 23 Apr 2008 at 6:22 pm

I tend to lean toward yellows this time of year. I guess I think of spring, chicks, sunshine….and it still goes so well with all other pastels, or even some earthy colors. Seems to me to be a very versital color for spring/summer.

  351. adriann humphreyon 23 Apr 2008 at 6:24 pm

thanks for the chance to win.
i love colors that go with choc.chip. i just made my daughter a birthday card that i put rudy read and buckaroo blue w/ cc.

Thanks for the chance to win, you are the BEST!!!!!

  356. Inkyhiveon 23 Apr 2008 at 7:09 pm

The color I use all depends on the card I am creating. This week I am making - working on an order, 10 cards for a man, so I am using mostly earthtones.

  357. melanie plon 23 Apr 2008 at 7:15 pm

Soft pastel colors always grab my eye this time of year: soft blues, greens, chalk and light brown… just like the beach!

  358. Julieon 23 Apr 2008 at 7:17 pm

I’ve been using soft sky and chocolate chip alot. I also like groovy guava.

  361. Danion 23 Apr 2008 at 7:50 pm

Sorry you didn’t have time to do the 10 minute card today but I guess one of us will benefit from it!!! I tend to go for pastels like a lot of your other posters but I tend to use Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink more than any colors in the Soft Subtles group. It is pretty funny that I go for these colors since my favorite color has always been any shade of purple and I hardly ever use that color.

  362. Wanda Garrisonon 23 Apr 2008 at 7:52 pm

Love Groovy Guava, but my most favorite of favorites is Ginger Blossom DP. Thanx for the chance to win. Love your blog.

    Hi Sharon,

I love using Groovy Guava and Real Red together on cards and projects. A close third for me would be Apricot Appeal. Thank you so much for your blog and especially for explaining the difference in the Nestabilities (sizes: petite vs classic).

The cardstocks that I have been using the most lately are Yo Yo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise and Gable Green/Green Galore.

Would love to have some Wild Wabashi and Groovy Guava to play with one of these days!

The colours I use this time of year are blush blossom and certainly celery with lots of white. It’s just so soft and airy. Beatrice

  404. Joanneon 24 Apr 2008 at 7:52 am

I don’t think that I have specific colours that I go for at a particular time of year - other than blue and white for Christmas. But at the moment I am using greens and browns as I am having a spate of men’s cards that need doing. Not very spring-like! I think that my colours are more down to who I am making the card for, rather than the season.

  405. Bettyon 24 Apr 2008 at 8:26 am

I just love your blog! I always come away with some new idea or inspiration. Lately,I have been using a color that I rarely reach for - Lovely lilac. I just bought the SU! Blossoms Abound. Lilacs are a favorite of my mother. Lovely lilac, Always artichoke, and gold metallic - just right for spring stamping.

  406. jeannen2on 24 Apr 2008 at 8:33 am

I love your cards! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us.

As far as color of card stock, I’m navigating toward the bright colors: tempting turquoise, pink passion, only orange, real red. I think that should be enough colors for anyone. So with that said, I’m ready for color as we’ve had a gray winter here in Minnesota.

  421. Jorion 24 Apr 2008 at 12:22 pm

Hey Sharon, I’ve been going through the DP from SU all year - it’s great. Lately, it’s been Summer Picnic and Afternoon Tea. It is surprising to me, because I am not really a ‘pastel’ person, but the color lilac has been my favorite color this spring. I think my eyes are just hungry for color after a long, dark, colorless winter.

  460. Nicole P.on 25 Apr 2008 at 10:49 am

Oddly enough, I’ve been loving my kraft cardstock lately. Maybe it’s that whole ‘bare tree’ look, though hopefully we’ll be all greened up here sooner rather than later.

    Great cards, btw. :)

  468. Charlene Reeson 25 Apr 2008 at 5:11 pm

The color that catches my eye seems to be PINK. Why? I don’t know, I’m not a pinky kind of gal. But there has to be pink somewhere on all my layouts or cards. I made a birthday card for my son, who turned 34 this year, and there was pink on it!

  469. Belindaon 25 Apr 2008 at 7:23 pm

Oh how fun! I keep grabbing for the light pinks! :o) I’ve always been a pink girl - and this time of year provides so many great reasons to pull the pink out!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  470. Nimueon 25 Apr 2008 at 8:08 pm

Yellow! Yellow! and more Yellow! After surviving all the bleak darkness of winter, I need to see the light. Yellow comes the closest to the warm light of the sun so I want and need YELLOW! Thanks for all the info you give us through your blog - Nimmy

  471. Ansaon 25 Apr 2008 at 8:12 pm

Hmmm I like white…but I also like the pinks and soft purples.
Guess it depends on the mood and what kind of card Im creating.

I tend to use the InColors more often just before they

    get it anymore.
