Oooh, this is difficult. I don’t have a favorite of any card type…I love layered cards and pretty cards, but I also love cutesy and humorous cards. If it’s a simple card, something really needs to stand out to make it special. Cards with embellishments are nice…I gives me a chance to see what’s new that I may not have seen yet. Thanks for offering the goodies…I haven’t ever won anyone’s blog candy, but there’s always a first time. Have a wonderful day! Cheryl in Reno-Sparks, NV.

  2. SharonC says:

I’m definately a cutesy card person. Lots of florals. I’m new to cardmaking and need supplies desperately! Thanks for the chance to win. Love your blog!

  3. Jess says:

I’ve become much more of a clean and simple stamper I think. I used to feel like a card had to have a thousand layers and embellishments to be worth anything, but now I’m drawn to one layer cards that really emphasize the stamps. It’s quicker, less stressful, and cheaper!

  4. terri says:

There are so many types of cards I like to make but layering is one of the things I like to do. What great candy!

  5. Juanita says:

I like elegant, but I LOVE to make clean and simple.
    Great candy, thanks

  6. Brenda says:

I like to make card that are pretty with lots of layers and ribbon. I put ribbon om most of the cards I make, but the last few I have made I have used my nestabilities and less ribbon. Now having said that I aols like to make all type of cards and try new things.

  7. Marilynn aka APandi says:

Many times I ask friends to pick several cards or a set of cards they would like to have as a gift. I have noticed elegant and simple are the most popular. Not sure if that says I do better with that style or if that is just what most people prefer. But it sure is fun once in awhile to use several layers and embellishments. Sometimes ugly but always fun.

  8. Donna A says:

I love doing cards with many layers, and if it calls for something 3D, I do that, too. I like vintage. I like distressed. I like clean and simple. Really, I like all styles.

  9. Carolyn Mustopa says:

Oh, how yummy!!! I love making pretty, elegant cards that lean towards clean and simple. A couple of layers, and usually some ribbon or a little bling. I haven’t mastered the distressed look yet.

  10. Kim says:

Hmmm..my favorite is probably vintage, like Stampsmith. I haven’t been making them much lately, but I have to say I love the old time look of photostamps. I guess Distressing is a big part of it too. Great question! Thank you for the chance to win your wonderful blog candy!!!

  11. I think I am pretty simple. I love playing so I try to add something different to the cards, I just made a very simple Bella card… but I added beads on the dress. lol.. check out my blog to see.

I like all types of cards, but clean & simple is the type I usually make!

  24. Holly says:

I love clean and simple and elegant cards. I’m just not good at foo-foo-ing up a card, so I stick with clean and simple. I leave the foo-foo for my momma (Joan Ervin)! LOL

  25. Ad says:

I love the elegant cards made with touches of ribbon [like the ones made with Scarlet’s Letter paper], but I love vintage also. So much fun to distress and give that antique look to. Love your work!

  37. Kelly says:

I love to make the clean and simple cards…but secretly, I wish I could make the totally outrageous, color saturated cards that I see on so many web pages…including yours! I hope you enjoyed Chicago while you were at CHA – this time of year it has so much to offer! Come back again!

  38. Jenn B says:

I tend to distress up most of my cards. The grundgier…the better!

  41. Debi Wind says:

I would say that 95% of the cards I make are either vintage or distressed. I am not into cute and very seldom make simple and elegant cards.

Really, I am all over the place. I like simple, but always feel like I am missing something. I’ll get there I hope! I don’t really feel like I have a style yet? Does that make sense? 🙂 Thanks Sharon for gin these away, so sweet.

  45. ConnieC says:

I like to look at vintage and heavily layered cards.
But I tend to make clean and simple graphic cards.

  46. I like to go heavy on the layers with lots of dimensionals and paper piercing. I’m not sure if there’s an official name for my style. I just stamp suits my mood at the time.

  47. Diane says:

I’m torn between distressed and vintage but I know most of my family likes to receive more traditional or cutsie type cards.

  48. KRissy Fossmeyer says:

Since I make many cards to send to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, I tend to make easy cards that I can mass produce. However, I love to make special cards for friends and family and experiment with ribbons and brads and layers. Lately I’ve been on a “cupcake kick” – pink and brown cupcakes. YUM!

  49. Linda Marie says:

Yummy looking candy! I make encouragement type cards that hopefully would brighten someone’s day. It can be fun to elegant.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  52. LJ in Ohio says:

My favorite thing to make are layered cards with embellishments like ribbon or vellum tags but they MUST have stamping on the front. With the kind of investment I have in rubber, I would be too embarrassed to send a card without something stamped!!

Thanks for the chance to win!

    ~Hugs, Deb

  59. I LOVE to make elegant and distressed I think those are by far my favorite. Not to mention anything with layers and layers and a ton of flowers is good too! 🙂 Thanks for the chance at some great blog candy…Oh to see CHA

  60. Katie says:

Lately, I’ve had fun making little 2×3 cards with smaller stamp sets and sayings. I bundle 4 or so cards together, tie a ribbon around them, and give them to friends. The best part? I don’t mind if they are regifted!
It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

I LOVE to try and make cards that suit the personality of the person I am giving them to. It really challenges me to step outside of what I like, at least for certain people.

  61. Hmm. I don’t know what I’d call it, but I love cards that are a little bit fun, usually with color, and a little bit sophisticated, not excessively cutesy. Sophisticated fun? Like a mad hatter cake: clean lined but fun and colorful.

  62. Chris Severs says:

those are some nice lookin’ goodies ya got there!! i’m totally jealous that you got to go to cha!! i tend to make simple cards and i like to distress the layers….

  64. Mary R. says:

I love elegant simple cards. However, I can’t make them. I put way too much stuff on mine. I can’t make a card without ribbon. Okay, every now and then but it is rare. I love the cards you make. I also love Leslie Miller’s style. When I grow up I want to be a hybrid of the two of you! LOL Thanks for all your great tutorials and I love the new stamp simply line of Flourishes. Keep up the good work!

  65. percy says:

My absolute fav is pretty and elegant — lots of florals and layers. I keep telling myself I have more than enough flower stamps, but they keep jumping into my shopping cart! They’re so fun to color.

  67. Melissa Singfiel says:

Hmm. . .usually I love the heavily layered and embellished cards, but lately I’ve been in a simple mood — one layer, one ribbon, simple and bold stamps. Maybe it’s the hot summer that’s causing me to strip off the excess, but I sure do get a lot more cards done this way! 🙂

I love clean lines with vibrant colours but then again – anything goes!!!

I tend to make the cards geared towards who I am giving them to, but I like to recieve pretty and elegant ones.

  71. Paula Kay says:

I guess I am a bit different. #1 I let the stamp set dictate what type of card it will be and the mood I am in when stamping. It really changes from stamp set to stamp set and how much time I have to put into it. I really do a lot of five minute cards so……I guess I am a quick and easy stamper.

  72. k.m. says:

    I prefer a clean, simple look………once in a while I like to do a color-blocked layout.

  73. What great blog candy! Thank you for the chance! I have to say I love making the Square cards with layers as it gives me lots of room. Most important to me is that everything is layered straight. I received lots of cards where time was taking to make sure stuff is straight, it’s kind of disappointing, all that work.

  74. Casie says:

I’m glad you got to go to CHA – it sounds like an awesome event. Good for you! My favorite kind of card to make depends on the person and occasion. I try to think of the person I’m giving the card to…and go from there. Layering is good…it takes an “okay” card to the “wow!” stage.
Blessings, and thanks for the blog candy offer!

  137. Shir says:

    Hi,
I like to make clean & simple cards.
I see other styles and although it looks REALLY great (and I wish I could have done such things) – I know it’s not my style… Too bad 🙂
Anyway – the blog candy is gorgeous, very inspiring.
    Thank you!
    Shir Benovich from Israel

  138. Alicia says:

I love flowers and bright springy colors and anything to make it more feminine, whether it’s ribbon, lace, pearls, scallops or all of the above!

  139. Sharon D says:

I like clean and simple, not too many layers, not too much busyness. But I do like a little sparkle, either from shimmer chalk or glitter pen or Stickles. Also, I like to make “larger” cards, 5 x 7 or 5.5 x 8.5, especially if it’s a birthday card, wedding card, or sympathy card. Thank-you notes I do A2. Thanks for the chance to win this generous package!

  140. Becky P. says:

Great question. As my talent does not compare to yours, I like making any card that makes me feel good, and proud to send to someone. I have a lot of cards I put in the trash, but the ones that make it to the mailbox are my favorite.

  141. Sheila says:

I like the simple elegant card the best. Layers or small embellishements are a nice touch. I also like a little shimmer, either glitter or stickles. Thanks for the opportunity to win!!!

  142. Melanie says:

While I love clean/simple and vintage the most, it might be most accurate for me to say I love one layer cards or minimal layer cards. Those are the kinds I like to make the most, but I love every style and kind of card I’ve received. 🙂 TFS your CHA experience with us!

  143. Val S says:

I love interactive style of cards. They are my favourite to make. Another favourite are the simple/easy cards…ones that will make up quickly, but look great!

  144. Liane says:

I love all kinds of cards. I find myself doing some layering but keeping it fairly clean. Those are the cards I love the most!

  145. Jennifer Reynard says:

WOw, what nice blog candy! My favourite card to make or receive would be one with lots of layers. I really think that when things are double or triple matted, they really stand out. It may be more work, but definately worth it in my opinion. Thanks for organizing the contest.

  146. Elaine says:

Oh my gosh! What a heavenly prize package! I love lots of layers on my cards – mattes and layers…lots of them — and ribbon. (and flowers). and maybe a little glitter or bling…and that’s it. 😉

  147. Katherine says:

I love the elegant cards. Those are the best! and yeah, i like my card complicated somehow and sometime colorful. I just love adding some extra things on my card such as ribbon, many many layers.

  148. JanScholl says:

I don’t care so much about what I put on the card as the type of fold it has. I like them to be top folds. They sit up better.

  149. Oh my! I’d love to win this! I like to dabble in all cardmaking styles. 😀 I just have so much fun!

  150. Lynn Stevens says:

  153. Jamie A says:

I like clean and simple cards with a touch of ribbon. I am still new to stamping and I find I can do these quickly and they still look great. As I continue to stamp I am learning new techniques and I’m sure my style will evolve!

  154. WOW! What fab blog candy! Sounds like a great time at CHA! My favorite type of card is usually what ever you do! I like mine clean, but heavily embellished! Thanks for the chance!

  158. Maxine says:

I love all cards, but love the elegant cards using the cuttle bug for embossing. Color, no favorite, but do like most.
Have been trying to find time to make more detailed folded cards and using more layers.

Thanks for allowing me to enter you contest.

    Maxine

  161. Jenna says:

I didn’t really like to make cards at first!!! But now I love to make them. It really doesn’t matter the style! I am having a Christmas in July workshop this Saturday, with 17 planning on attending. I can hardly wait to see all their cards that they will be bringing!

  162. […] did you know Sharon has blog candy now through Sunday?  It’s right here.  She brought home some goodies from CHA to share with a lucky winner.  I know you won’t […]

  163. Pam B. says:

Hi, sharon—-I hope you’re quickly on your way back to feeling well. (All that excitement at CHA must’ve worn you out!!)
My favorite style of card to make is heavily layered, with brads and my signature Ribbon Blossom!! I feel that between lots of layers and the Ribbon Blossom, I can choose to accentuate a certain color, a certain ‘style’ (aged, bright, subtle, etc.), or a certain emotion in a card. Above all, though, I try to keep in mind just how the person receiving it will feel when they first see it—if I feel I’ve ‘hit’ that feeling when I’m finished, that’s a perfect ending to some creative time!
Thanks for a chance to win some beautiful goodies. Big hugs to you!! Pam B. (4Hounds)

  164. I really do like to do quick, easy simple cards. I do like adding a little extra either ribbon, brads, glitter just something to make it standout.

  166. wendyp says:

Thats some yummy candy! My favorite style of cards is simple and clean, but I just can’t seem to do them. I start off with that in mind and just have to keep adding to the card, lol!

  167. Claire says:

What I like are monochromatics , with texture & shimmer but all one colour.
I also like All one colour cards then there is a burst of another colour somewhere on the card. I like cards that that have layers and ribbon and embellishments. Not too much embellishment but enough to make the card pop.

Thank you for the chance to win Blog candy. Love your blog

  168. I love making the ‘white’ card! I like to stamp directly on the card and do my coloring on that is what I mean. So I guess you would call that the ‘simple’ card? LOL! But to me those can look sooo awesome! Thanks Sharon for the chance to win some gorgeous goodies! Wow, what a prize! (pick me! pick me!) hahaha!

  169. Roxanne Stevens says:

I kike making several different styles, but I would have to sa my favorite is simple elegance.

I like simple layers. That way I can make it pop with ribbon or brads or an embossed background.

  171. Sandra says:

I have to say for card I love simple and elegant. I love sheer ribbon or just a touch of satin ribbon to give the card some class. (Now for scrapping I am just the opposite –embellies all the way!!!)

  172. yvonnew says:

  177. Julie S says:

Oh boy, I love Bright and Cheery type cards. I tend to stick with florals too and I love them to be fairly quick type cards. Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy!

I’m new to cardmaking and haven’t discovered my “style” yet, I collect antiques and love the vintage, distressed, layered and embellished cards made by others.

  179. Judy Walsh says:

So many types of cards! Choosing one style to favor is difficult. I would say a classy image is my favorite. And I seem to use ribbon with every card I make, so that is a favorite, too.

  180. Margaret says:

I think that my cardmaking style runs to: distressed, but I also like simple. Not necessarily clean & simple. Can you do distressed & simple?!?

Thanks for the chance for some blog candy.

  181. Wanda50 says:

I love to receive handmade cards. My favorite to make and give are simple, usually stamped, dainty embellishments. I especially love to make Christmas cards for family and friends. I like when I am able to use ribbon on my cards, as I have two boys, and do not get to do all those cute girly pages. Anytime I can scrapbook and make cards is a happy time.

  185. Denise C says:

Hmmm. I never really thought about it before – I guess it would have to be both simple and layered.

  189. Deb aka:DeborahLynneS says:

Hey there! Welcome home– sounds like you had fun!

I love layering– I think layers really make a card more rich by adding dimension and possibly more color…it gives weight to the design and can highlight the image so much nicer…

  190. Dana L says:

I love “busy” cards. To me, less is a bore. I love printed paper, elegant stamps, ribbons, chipboard, silk flowers. Cutesy cards are probably my least favorites – no farm animals, children (kewpie dolls are good, though.) BTW – I love your work! Thanks so much for sharing!

  191. Carol P says:

OOH! I want to win! Great looking stuff!

I usually tend to do more clean and simple. What can I say? I’m a simple kind of girl. I do like to mat my panels usually. I think matting adds a lot.

  193. Anne P says:

Hi Sharon – it looks as though you had a wonderful time at CHA – thanks for sharing about it all. The type of cards I like to make depends a little on how much time I have available! If I have plenty of time, I like to do a lot of coloring of images, otherwise, something that I can put together quickly. I love bright, clean colors, and I like my cards to be elegant, and precise.
    Hugs, Anne.

  194. jlazarski says:

Clean and simple is my absolute favorite style, but I also enjoy vintage and some whimsical today. CAS is the reason I keep visiting your site — you are the queen! CAS, but still elegant!!

  195. Denise M says:

I guess I fall somewhere between clean and simple and lots of layers! I love to use a new technique on my stamped image and use that on my card or scrapbook page.

  196. Amy Sabol says:

Sharon, my very favorite card to make is Vintage with sweet and simple elegance and a touch of class! However, I love to take a walk on the wild side and learn to do new and different techniques and experiment with various textures and color combinations, etc. Thank you for the chance to try and win a very generous blog candy from you. Enjoy your day and God Bless you. ~Amy S.~

  217. Pinky says:

I love the clean and simple cards because they are so much easier to make and quick as well. I think we think that we have to put tons of layers, embellishments, etc. to make a wow card, but the truth is simple is eloquent and lovely…

    Pinky

  218. PatsyB says:

Does Quick & Easy count? I am always late and having to throw together a card as I go out the door! Anything that is quick and easy works for me! I am not much for the cards that are too froo-froo! All that extra gives me a headache. Keep mine very clean and neat!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  219. Donelle says:

I love the look of heavily layered and distressed cards but many times I’m in a hurry and just need to make a simple card to get it finished. Thanks Sharon for all your great ‘simple’ inspiration!

I bet going to CHA was a lot of work but really fun!

  220. Karyn says:

I seem to be more a clean, cute and simple person I like layers but not all the hoopla sometimes and too much stuff makes a cluttered card I think. Although sometimes they are so pretty… What a great blog candy offer – glad you had such fun at CHA!

  221. Laura McKinstry says:

you must have had a great time at CHA, I sure wish I had an opportunity to be there. I prefer to make clean and simple cards. MM sure makes beautiful products, that for the opportunity to win blog candy. Take care.

  222. That’s a tough question. I think I like to make clean/simple cards, but I gravitate toward pretty/elegant when I am searching around for inspiration. I am just not yet there at making pretty/elegant my self. I will keep trying however.

  227. susan hall says:

I like clean and simple cards. Susan

  228. Candy says:

Well I hate to admit it but to me more is better. Once I begin a card I just plain get carried away. I always have to use some “technique” to “enhance” the card. I end up spending hours on a single card. I’m nuts — but at least I know it. Thanks for the blog candy.

  229. Beverlita says:

My favorite style of card, a simple white background with embossing.

  230. Amy Johnson says:

My favorite type of card to make is one that looks like it took hours to make. I don’t like ‘clean and simple’ cards because I think ‘it looks like it took only minutes to make’ or ‘is too easy’ and then looks like the person really didn’t care enough to take the time to make a really great card in the first place. I think if your going to go thru all the trouble to make a card, then make a GREAT one, or why make one at all–just send a store bought card.

  231. JenMarie says:

    Ooo, great giveaway!
Hmmm…not sure I have a fav style? I seem to do layering….but not a ton.

  232. Colleen says:

  233. Joan Ervin says:

Hi Sharon! I love to make intricate, elegant, pretty cards!! I love to add lace, buttons, pretty brads, papers…what ever I can get my hands on!!! However, I tend to oooooh and awwww over simple, one layer designs….go figure!!!

  234. I like clean and simple most of the time, but I do like layering too!

  235. Chris says:

WOW, what great blog candy!!! My favourite type of card to make is the Z- fold! I love the versatility of it, and it is so fun for the recipient to open! Thanks for this great chance!
    Chris

  236. Karen Q says:

Amazing blog candy. How generous of you. My favorite style is clean and simple. I have tried for years to get the hang of collage style cards and it always took forever and felt uncomfortable. Clean and simple with a little “pop” is for me. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  237. Linda E says:

I like layered cards with elegant and rich colors or textures best. Your Christmas card in the above post fits that bill nicely!

  238. Gabriela says:

What a perfectly delightful assortment of blog candy! I’m glad to hear your visit to CHA was such a fruitful one. My favorite type of card to make is distressed. 241. Gail S. says:

I try to be diversified with my cards and try something new every once in a while. My favorite are the “antique” vintage cards but I also like to make bright “sunny” cards. I reallly enjoy your blog and it looks like you had a wonderful time in Chicago.

  242. Monika/buzsy says:

Yummy candy! Love the pretty colors. I love all kinds of cards… depending on my mood… but simple and elegant is my favorite! TFS!

  243. Jeanne K says:

I like clean and simple with great paper as background. I stamp by myself so I only get ideas from blogs such as this. I love to see others ideas but many cards seem so complex and how do you mail them – you need large envelopes with extra postage? Clean and simple with color.

  244. Rachel says:

This is hard…I actually like two best…simple and elegant and heavily layered. I pretty much go back and forth between these. And I always use white cards. Was given some very very very nice heavy white cardstock to use (a whole ream) so why not use ite?!? Looks like you picked up some really great stuff! Woohoo! 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!!

Wow! Nice haul! Thanks for sharing….love your work!

    [email protected]

    [email protected]

  249. Ursula in RSA says:

I just love making cards. Sometimes I make them busy with lots of layers and other days more simple and elegant or depending on the recipient I make a differents style. Love all the blogs and ideas, they are my inspiration from so far away. Just wish I could get my hands on some of the beautiful stamps.

  250. Selma says:

I love to find new ideas to try, so enjoy making lots of different styles. I always like to have some texture and some layering on my cards. Have always used background stamps and recently started using pieces of designer papers which is easy and very colorful. I have gotten many ideas from your blog. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.

  251. StampinCathy says:

I love to make layer cards with different techniques and texture.
Thanks for a chance at this sweet candy.

  252. Dorothy says:

I love clean and simple when I see other cards but when I try them they all look so empty to me so I add layers and bling. I love layered cards. Tanks for the chance to win this great candy! Love your blog!
    Dorothy

  253. Susan says:

I love layered cards…usually with some DP and the rest matching CS…love embellishments, also…do not find it easy to be simple!

  256. Cindy H. says:

Just found your blog. I’ve been looking at the CHA pictures – so great to put a face with names that are familiar! TFS

wao, what great candy. I love elegant cards, but I also love to make clean and simple. thanks for the chance to win.

  259. Pam Boedeker says:

I love variety!!! Usually not the Ten Minute cards . . . more often lots of detail. Cute, Beautiful, artsy, bright colors, black and white, all white, southwest . . . whatever my mood or a new stamp or favorite blog dictates.

    Pam

  260. Kraftyaunt says:

I’ve only been card making for a year and when I look back over how I’m maturing with my style and techniques, I’ve noticed two things: most of my cards have dimension & texture and the other thing – always a little sparkle or bling! I would say I lean towards elegant cards and I struggle with grunge style! Thanks for a chance to win some blog candy…

  261. Teryl says:

I love all types of cards, but my favorite to actually make has to be “clean and simple”. The fewer the layers the better.
But no matter what style I make, my cards must have ribbon, floss, thread, etc.
Thanks so much for the chance to win.
    You have a wonderful blog!

  262. Juliann says:

    Wow Lots of entries!
Thanks for the chance at some very yummy candy!

I honestly can’t pick one style, it depends on my mood. Most of the time my cards are pretty clean, because they are usually made with the intent to give it to someone…but when I make things for myself they tend to be a bit more grundgy/scrappy! lol!
Thanks again have a great week!

As for the sentiment, if it is appropriate, I prefer humorous ones. The image that sets the theme, can generally be anything pretty – I tend to choose flowers and insects but if the recipant isn’t into that, I will choose something else.

Flowers and swirls rank pretty high for me, too:) Love your site – thanks for sharing your talents with us – I can sit and look at blogs for hours if I let myself! Elegant and clean. It doesn’t have to be simple but I tend to like it
to look simple. Definitely classic, but not always! The truth is, I like to create in a lot of different styles (and to see different ones). Cards are fun because we can play and try different things. It isn’t like commiting
to a look in a house. Or even to who we are as individuals. It is about creative process and idea generation.
