Halloween Fun!

boo-girl-and-spook-legs-520-wm-notime.jpg

I’ll be the first to admit that Halloween cards are certainly NOT first on my list of things to do EVER, BUT this adorable little witch has totally captured my heart — isn’t she JUST the cutest little witch EVER!!! I’ve been admiring her since I first laid eyes on her and I just couldn’t wait to use this set once it arrived!!! A fun, fun and ever so sweet Halloween set by Crafty Secrets called Halloween Fun. And the paper I’m using today is in a fun 12 x 12 K & Co. pack from Michaels by Jen Yanok — great papers with vivid colors and some sheets have glitter — a GREAT find for Halloween papers if you like a lot of color!!!!

boo-girl-480-wm-notime.jpg

Once I was stamping today, I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play the Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS, so both of these cards are cased layouts from NikiE. What a great gallery to choose from!!! The card above was cased from the layout on this card. You can see the layout is identical, but everything else is different. I also was happy to be able to pull out my Copics for these cards today. Seems like I haven’t colored in weeks, and I’ve actually been missing it — and that is rather comical to those of you who know me and how I’ve stuggled with coloring just forever! I am feeling really good about my Copics and just LOVE using them!!! Below are all the colors used on these two projects:

boo-girl-480-copics.jpg

And the card below was a layout cased of this card of Niki’s. Again, I followed the layout but changed the images, papers, colors, etc.

spook-legs-480-wm-notime.jpg

Another really simple card. Using my Copics I was able to pick up the intense colors in the designer paper and carry them through to the main image, and I like that! On this card I first stamped the legs, then the left shoe. I then masked the left shoe and stamped the right shoe. Don’t you just LOVE these legs — LOL!!! I do!!!

  • Stamps: Halloween Fun by Crafty Secrets
  • Paper: PTI White, SU Black, Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and K & Co. Designer 12x 12 pad by Jen Yanok
  • Ink: Palette Black, and Copics shown above
  • Accessories: Black Organdy Ribbon, Rectangle and Long Rectangle Nestabilities by Spellbinders, SU Small and Large Oval Punches, SU Brads, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folder, Mounting Squares

And today is Monday and that means Joan has a new sale posted at Joan’s Garden! And I just have a hunch she MIGHT have this HalloweenFunCrafty Secrets set this week — and I wonder what else — let’s take a look — you can see Joan’s Sale here.Be sure to scroll down once you get there — I see she’s listed many things this week!

And if you haven’t done so already, please remember to vote for this week’s JustRite Stampin’ Champion – there are some fabulous entries once again. Vote soon — time is running out — you may see the entires and vote here.

Simple Pinecone Trio

I made this set of three simple thank you notes for one of my sons to use, and when I make cards for my boys I always have strict orders to keep them very simple and plain. I hope these fit that bill! We’ll see if the buttons evoke any comments — LOL!!! Once again I used my new autumn set from Papertrey Ink called First Fruits. I can certainly vouch for the versatility of this set — I have been so pleased with it!!! Here are the cards I made, hoping they are simple and masculine:

pinecone-trio-500-wm-notime.jpg

The top card was made earlier in the week for one of the challenges at SCS and I just made the bottom two. Very simple stamping, machine zigzag stitching around the main image, White Craft ink DTP’d on the edges for a wintery, frosty feel. (DTP means direct to paper — apply the ink directly to the paper with the pad). We definitely have had autumn in the air, but now today we are back to hotsummer, so it felt good to make these frosty, cool cards!!!

  • Stamps: First Fruitsby Papertrey Ink
  • Paper: PTI White, SU Cranberry Crisp, Confetti Tan, Always Artichoke
  • Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, SU Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke and Craft White
  • Accessories: Vintage Buttons, Sewing Machine, Thread, SU Photo Corner Punch, Zots

Hope you are all enjoying this long holiday weekend!!! Summer’s last hurrah!!! Thanks so much for stopping in!!! See you soon –

Stamp Simply #50 - Julie is HOT!!!

Keyword ssnotime50 -There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload yourproject at Splitcoastand/or your Blog, anytime at all! You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!)can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.

In celebration of my Blog’s soon to be 1st Anniversary, and the1st Anniversary of this challenge the week following, we are doing something a bit different, and fun, for the next 6 weeks. Ournext 6 challenges will be centered around each of the Stamp SimplyTeam members. And this week we are highlighting Julie Koerber who isOut to Impress– andVERY impressive she is — andeven more thanimpressive, JULIE IS HOT!!! And that’s the name of this week’s challenge.

Yes, JULIE IS HOT, HOT, HOT!!! RED HOT!!! When I think of Julie’s work, I immediately think of red, a color she uses often, and oh so well!!! I also think of large, spaciouslayouts, crisp and striking color combinations, minimal but absolutely perfect layering, and exquisitely beautiful and perfectly placed embellishements, never overdone!

Today’s challenge istwo-pronged:

  1. Make a card with the primary color being red (you can add any other colors you like).

  2. Use Julie’s style as inspiration for your work. You need not CASE her, just let her beautiful and classy style inspire you. Julie has made a new card for us, and she has also chosen4 of her previous cards to showcase as inspriation pieces that will convey her style, and you can see them here.

Cant wait to see what you do!!!

Check out Julie Koerberssample here.

Check out Dee Jacksons samplehere.

Check out Jennifer Bucks sample here.

Check out Janine Orchards sample here.

Check out Tammy Hershbergers card here.

You can see all Gallery Submissions here.

Aren’t these girls justFABULOUS!!! Thank you girls!!! Much appreciated!!! Becky will be back soon, I promise — we are sooooooooo missing her!!!

Heres my card for todays challenge:

50-julie-hot-480-wm-notime.jpg

I used red, a striking, crisp color combo of red, black and white, I used a layout with large panels and minimal layering, I added a simple scallop and I kept embellishments to a minimum as I wanted the focus to be on this gorgeous, 1.5″ wide wired gingham ribbon. So, how did I do — can you see Julie in this card? Oh, I’m not so sure Julie has ever used this wide gingham ribbon, but I sure love this type of ribbon and thought it just *went* with where I was going on this card!!! Here’s a few details:

  • The stamp is an Anna Griffin tulip that I just inked directly from the pad.
  • There are 3 rows of embossed lines at the top of the black panel, just to make a border effect. Plus they remind me of little pintucks which would go so well with the gingham ribbon.
  • The sentiment is actually just the center part of one of the center images from the soon to beavailable Harmony Classic Circle III Stamp Ensemble by JustRite. This is the really large 3.25″ round wooden stamper that I SO love!!! I just masked off the rest of the stamp, inked the center sentiment in black, stamped and then cut and embossed with a Double Ended Tag by Spellbinders. (This largeHarmony Classic Circle Stamper III is available on pre-order NOW at the JustRite site).

Here’s the list of supplies:

  • Stamps: Tulip by Anna Griffin, All Night Media, Sentiment by JustRite (explained above)
  • Paper: PTI White. SU Real Red and Black.
  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black. SU Real Red and Old Olive.
  • Accessories: 1.5″ Wired Gingham Check Ribbonby Offray (Wal-Mart), Scor-It, Martha Stewart Lace Punch from Wal-Mart, SU Corner Rounder, Double Ended Tags by Spellbinders, SU Brads, Mounting Squares.

Once again, thank you ever so much for stopping in — I so appreciate it!!! Hoping you all can enjoy a nice summer and holidayweekend!!!! Hope to see you again soon!!!

Acorn Thanks

Still playing with First Fruits by Papertrey Ink. This is my 3rd day of uploads using this autumn set. Today’s card features the acorn image — fun!! I will have anotherpost using the pinecones and boughs, but that’ll have to wait for a few days. I made this card specifically for a man, and I think these papers work great for a masculine card — still using the Fall Harvest Mat Pack by K & Co. from Michaels. I’m really enjoying these rich autumn papers. They are heavy and almost have a feeling of being coated — just a small pad, but it’ll easily get me through this autumn season.

acorn-thanks-480-wm-notime.jpg

  • Stamps: First Fruits by Papertrey Ink
  • Paper: PTI White, SU Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Fall Harvest Mat Pack by K & Co.
  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black, SU Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Ruby Red.
  • Accessories: Leaf Punch by McGill, SU Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware, Corner Rounder, Ticket Corner Punch, Dimensional.

Again, a simple card. The acorn is stamped on the white, and the acorn cap is then stamped on another sheet, cut out and popped up. I enjoy the options with all the words offered in this set — and a simple “Thankful for you” is just what I needed here. My leaves are punched, and I get a lot of questions every time I use this punch. Here’s a close-up:

acorn-thanks-420-leaf-closeup-notime.jpg

I first stamp the paper with a bit of background stamping, tone on tone, and really, just about any stamp will do, just to get a bit of visual texture on the paper. Then punch out the leaves, then I quickly draw in some vein lines — nothing fancy — just some quick lines, then I sponge the edges of the leaves, again tone on tone. Finally, I curl up the ends a bit with my fingers before adhering to the card. And WHERE to find this punch is always the question — it is made by McGill. I purchased it years ago in a small LSS in Wisconsin. I recently did a Google search and couldn’t find it, but they do have aleaf in another shape, which is equally as nice. If anyone else searches and does happen to find this punch, I’d sure appreciate knowing where — thanks!!!

Editing: Oh my gosh — you guys are TOO great!!! Susan Roberts (rainy) found this leaf punch here, and Judy Walsh found some FABULOUS leaf punches by Marvy that both cut AND emboss the veins at the same time — to die for!!! But they are a bit pricey as you need to buy them in a set of 3 for $60 - ouch!!!! But they look wonderful — see them here. THANK YOU LADIES — YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! OK, here’s one of those alone for $22, and another and the third! OR, check out this set ofHarvest dies by Spellbinders, and this page has more Spellbinder dies. Thanks, Jerri Kay, for pointing out the Spellbinder dies — fabulous!!!

And tomorrow we have our regular Friday Stamp Simply Challenge — but we’ve added a fun twist to it for the next 6 weeks — so be sure to stop in and see what we all have up our sleeeves — it’ll be super fun to play along!!! Again, I’m so glad you took the time to stop in — thank you so much!!! We are still enjoying beautiful fall weather, mildly warm with beautiful breezes — can’t get much better!!! Hope you are having a great week as well!!!

Garden Basket Gift Tag

Published by notimetostamp under Food Gifts, Papertrey Ink

1st-fr-harvest-basket-480-wm-notime.jpg

It is certainly that time of year when our baskets are filled to overflowing with garden veggies, whether we grow them ourselves or purchase them. I LOVE the abundance of fresh fruits and veggies at this time of year. And although we do grow some, we are also given a lot. It seems every time someone stops in, their arms are heavily laden with bags of produce — I love it!!! I gathered a few things from my counter last evening, arranged them in a basket and hung on the tag I just made, a tag that I will use when we go bearing gifts!!!

1st-fr-harvest-tag-480-wm-notime.jpg1st-fr-harvest-closeup-346-wm-notime.jpg

Above is a full view of the tag as well as a close-up of the pineapple image. Gee, am I loving this set — more and more each time I use it. I used the wheat yesterday, now the pineapple, and the acornand pinecone will be for tomorrow’s project!!! I need to properly break this set in — LOL!!! Here’s a little info on what I did:

  • The chocolate tag base is cut 6.5 x 4. Used a corner rounder on bottom, a deco corner punch on top.

  • The loop hanger through which you run ribbon to tie onto the basket handle is cut 1.5 x 5.5, scored in the center, tab ends corner rounded and attached to tag with brads.

  • I used regular SU inks on my pineapple, first covering the pineapple in More Mustard, then carefully apply Really Rust around the perimeter, direct torubber from the pad. The top leaves were done the same way, with first Certainly Celery and then Old Olive. And on the close-up you can see how I used a Chocolate Chip SU marker (fine point) and made tiny dots in the little white dots — just thought it looked like it needed it!

I think the rest is rather self-explanatory. LOVE that little leafy stamp I used for the background!

  • Stamps: First Fruits by Papertrey

  • Paper: PTI White. SU Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Really Rust. DP from Fall Harvest pack by K & Co. from Michaels.

  • Ink: Above plus Old Olive.

  • Accessories: PetiteOval Nestabilities by Spellbinders, SU Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware, Corner Rounder, Deco Corner Punch, Mounting Squares, Wide Wired Ribbon.

Have you checked out the Teapot Tuesday Challenge over at Mothermark’s Blog? It’s a fun one — I love this challenge idea and though I didn’t get a card made yet, I WILL get one done, if not this week, then next!!! Fun challenge!!!

Now, off to do something with the acorns or pineconesfrom this set for tomorrow’s post!!! I’m going for a more masculinelook, not that these first 2 attempts have been particularly feminine!!! Truly beautiful weather here today — hope you are all enjoying the same!!! Thanks so much for stopping in!!!

First Fruits Blessings

I got to play with new stamps today - how fun!!! And for as long as I’ve been stamping I’ve only had odds and ends of stamps for autumn, never a full coordinatedset. The moment I saw Papertrey’s new fall set, First Fruits, I knew it was just what I was wishing for — beautiful, yet simple, images along with a fabulous combination of words to take me through the fall and Thanksgiving season. I don’t have the designer paper that so beautifully coordinates with this set, but I found a small Fall Harvest pad by K & Co. in Michaels that I think works well. Here’s my first project with First Fruits:

1st-fr-blessings-set-500-wm-notime.jpg

I made a simple card using Petite Oval Nestabilities to frame the sheaf of grain as well asalabel attached to a band running around the bottle of Roasted Red Pepper Vinaigrette. I also stamped an envelope to match as well as the inside of the card.

1st-fr-blessings-dressing-420-189-wm-notime.jpg1st-fr-blessings-card-420-335-wm-notime.jpg

This really was quite the easy project. The Blessings sentiment is cut and embossed using a label die, also by Spellbinders. My ribbon is an old scrap, and my original plan was to make more pieces to this little gift, but I ran out of this ribbon, sothis is it!!! I’m sure I’ll be making many more little gift type items with this set, so I’ll be sure I have enough ribbon next time before I start — LOL!!!

  • Stamps: First Fruits by Papertrey Ink
  • Paper: SU Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Morning Marigold, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive. Fall Harvest Mat Pad by K & Co.
  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black, Morning Marigold, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive.
  • Accessories: Ribbon, Petite Circle, Petite Oval and Labels Trio all by Spellbinders, Mounting Tape, Glue Dots.

And today is Monday, so you know what THAT means — it’s the Every Monday Sale over at Joan’s Garden — check it out — I think she has Scor-It’s this week — both full sized and Mini!!!! I’ll have to pop on over and see what else she has, too!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in!!! I do so appreciate it!!! Hope you enjoy your week –it sounds like good weather for us — and today it IS beautiful!!! Hope to see you soon — thank you so much!!!

Autumn 2008 Take 10

autumn-08-take-10-cover.jpg

I recently received my Autumn (2008) edition of Take 10. I was lucky enough to get a few cards accepted, and in paging through I find it is, once again, filled with familiar names from SCS and Blogland — congrats to all!!! Here’s a few that jumped out at me –

Jen del Muro provided the Sketch Challenge and had many adorable cards throughout the issue.

Lisa Zappadid the Masterboard project creating a gorgeous One Sheet Wonder sheet and projects usingbeautiful Crafty Secrets images.

Kim Hughes was the main focus of 3 articles. Kim was the Guest Artist, and had articles on Kissing and No Frills.

Lisa Somerville had a page full of fun Artistic Outpost offerings.

I spotted cards by Cindy Lyles, Kendra Wiestockand my good friend IRL (LOL!), DeborahLynneS.

ss-periphery-set-jan08-540-wmnotime.jpg

And I had a 3-page segment called Simple Sophistication, featuring 4 cards and 1 bookmark/sleeve using Periphery DP by Basic Grey and images by Flourishes (Flourished Elements and Flourished Words).Above isa photo I took of this project before mailing it off last January. The card on the upper left was something I had done for achallenge at SCS — the techniquewas called Stab Binding. That card and details can be seen here. The bookmark and sleeve was previoulsy uploaded here.

ss-greetings-520-wm-notime.jpg

The little loop on top of the frame above was drawn in. This was a really fun and simple set to make as it was just a matter of selecting sheets of designer paper and making the most of what was already there — adding minimal stamped images and some pretty embellishments and ribbon to dress it up!!! This set is a perfect example of what I always say — If you use pretty things, you don’t have to DO much!!! So, so true!!!

ss-2-birds-540-wm-notime.jpg

Again, pretty things! The birds were on the paper, I added very minimal stamped images, a flower from SU’s Pretties Kit with stick pin, ribbon and pearls!!! It’s kind of like taking a sheet of paper and dressing it up for the prom!!!

ss-arch-540-wm-notime.jpg

I created the rose arch with a different sheet of paper, bordering it in black to highlight it. Again, as in the card above, the bird just needed something to look at or peckat!!!

autumn-08-cake-dec-page.jpg

I also had another page in this issue, A Different Point of View, again using all images by Flourishes (Cake Decorating 101). These cards haveall been previously uploaded, so I’ll just show you a pic of the magazine page. Unfortunately, mistakes happen, as did with this page. The images were listed as being by No Time ToStamp. Well, we all know, there are no images bearing that name. All images were by Flourishes.

And I once again thank you for taking the time to look today!!! It is always so much appreciated!!! Hope you are all able to enjoy a beautiful summer day, such as we are experiencing here — a bit on the cool side, but nonetheless, beautiful!!!

Stamp Simply #49 - Foreground/Background

Keyword ssnotime49 -There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload yourproject at Splitcoastand/or your Blog, anytime at all! You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!)can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.

Today’s Challenge: To me, a part of keeping a card simple is not having to get out a ton ofsets to make the card. I often like to use the same stampfor themain image as for the background, and that’s our challengefor today.Use the same stamp for the focal point main image AND for the background. That should make it nice and simple!!! Cant wait to see what you doand, as always, do try to keep it simple. Most importantly have fun!!!

Check out Julie Koerberssample here.

Check out Dee Jacksons samplehere.

Check out Jennifer Bucks sample here.

Check out Janine Orchards sample here.

Check out Tammy Hershbergers card here.

You can see all Gallery Submissions here.

Our Stamp Simply Team is smaller today, what with vacations andallthat summer entails!!! But arent they FABULOUS!!! Thank you girls!!! Much appreciated!!! Becky will be back soon!!!

Heres my card for today’s challenge, and on first glance you may not think it is simple, but it IS, and I’ll take it step-by-step below:

49-foreback-480-wm-notime.jpg

  • Stamps: Retired SU DD Ferns and Season by Season.
  • Paper: PTI White, SU Marigold Morning (retired), Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Perfect Plum.
  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black, plus above SU colors, and retired SU Spectrum Pad in Late November.
  • Accessories: Wide Wired Ribbon, Eyelet, Cropadile, Hemp, Aged Copper Hodgepodge Hardware (SU), Leaf Punch by McGill, SU Tag Corner Punch, Piercer, Mat Pack, Black Pen, Sponge.

Two things I used to do a lot of and haven’t done much of lately is to use the same stamp for both the foreground and background, as we are today, and sponging. I LOVE to sponge, but sort of got away from it, so today’s card has some sponging on it — I think it kind of adds a warm, fallish feel, and though today was hot, we have had that definite feel of fall in the air here already!!! It IS coming!!! Here’s a step-by-step on this card.

  1. Stamp fern as background on card, tone-on-tone, sponge edges.
  2. Stamp fern on Navy panel, tone-on-tone, sponge edges.
  3. Stamp fern on White panel, using Spectrum pad.
  4. Stamp Sentiment on White and make into tag.
  5. Punch 2 leaves, draw in veins, sponge edges, tie them together. (Plum was a scrap that had been stamped with SU Paisley.)
  6. Wrap ribbon around card front and tie nice big bow, neatly trimming tail ends, and attach sentiment tag with hemp.
  7. Adhere main image panel and Navy panel to card, using hardware as accent if desired.
  8. Adhere leaves on top.
  9. I had too much dead space on the lower right and the card looked off balance, so I added the 2 rows of piercing as an after thought, basically to balance things out more.
  10. That’s it — done — all simple steps, just take them one at a time!

And before you leave, how about stopping over to see Libby and wish her a Happy Birthday today — HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIBBY!!!! And once you are there, be sure to check out her Thursday Challenge, Courtney’s Closet– probably the most innovative and FUN challenge out there! Each week Libby dresses up her darling Courtney in a cute outfit, takes her pic, and posts it as our inspiration. How fun!!! I LOVE her dress this week and I WILL be playing!!! Be sure to check it out here. It’s definitely a fun look/see!!!

And still another birthday girl today Joan Fricker celebrates a big one!!! Joan is our Every Monday Sale Lady (such fun!!!). Stop by to wish her well and see her pretty White Cosmos — just lovely!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOAN!!! Have fun on your outing today!!!

Once again, thank you so much for stopping in!!! Hope you can find time one of these days to try out our Stamp Simply Challenges. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead!!! Thank you so much for stopping in here — much appreciated!!!

LOVE my Scor-Mat!!!

Published by notimetostamp under Product Talk

I have no projectto show you today (shopped all day, and there’s nothing wrong with that!), but I do have something I’d like to show you — a new toy!!! Well, not really a toy, but more like a tool, a necessity — something I am JUST loving. You all are familiar with the Scor-Pal, a tool for scoring. Well, the folks at Scor-Pal have come up with just a phenomenal idea — the Scor-Mat — which is a gridded mat made to fit perfectlyinto the recessed areaof the Scor-Pal, instantly turning this scoring tool into a gridded work surface. Now how cool is that? Here’s a picture of it:

scor-mat.jpg

Can you see how it fits just perfectly into the Scor-Pal? Well, I must tell you, for me this gridded work surface is IDEAL!!! I am a measurer from way back — I measure EVERYTHING and ALWAYS work on a gridded surface, usually the top of my guillotine type paper cutter which only has 1/2″ markings on its surface. My new Scor-Mat is marked every 1/8 inch and I love those precise measurements. Also love the diagonal markings — so handy to have! The griddedside is a self-healing mat so you can use a craft knife or rotary cutter on it with no problems. Thereverse side is a smooth worksurface, allowing for easy removal of tape and quick clean-up.

I do most of my card assembly on a gridded surfaceat counter height. My new Scor-Mat now fits thisbill perfectly!!! I am a bit fussyabout things being straight and even — I’m not muchof an *eye-baller* — I like measuring and *knowing* it’s how I want it — LOL!!! And by working on a gridded surface, it just gives me that *sense* of straight, which I find helpful. And my new Scor-Mat now makes this a bit easier.

My Scor-Pal has a permanent place on my counter, and now my Scor-Mat has a home within my Scor-Pal, making me very, very happy!!!! Hats off to the folks at Scor-Pal for this fabulous new product!!! You can see it here on the Scor-Pal site. Just something I recently got, loved, and wanted to share with you — just makes my stamping day a bit more enjoyable!!!!

And if you check out Joan’s Every Monday Sale, you’ll see she has both Scor-Pals and Scor-Mats this week!!! You have to scroll down once you get there!

And what did I get while shopping today — well, I had 1.5 hours in Michaels — not really long enough, but I did pick up some packs of K & Co. paper and chipboard, some other Halloween and Fall paper packs, a couple of books, some cute little card sets and a Journal from the $ Bin that will be such a quick and easy project with a monogram added, some new ink pads — Versa Fine, Brilliance and Tim Holtz Distress — and a few other odds and ends. All in all not so much, but fun stuff I am looking foward to playing with!!!

Try this for fun — a friend of mine, Cindy Motherway, a/k/a/ Mothermark at SCS, has a wonderfully fun inspiration challenge she posts on her Blogeach Tuesday — called Teapot Tuesday. It appears to be in week #8 already, though I recently found out about it. Cindy collects teapots and each week shows us all one to use as an inspiration piece — how fun. Check it out here - Teapot Tuesday.

Thank you for popping in!!! Always glad to have you!!! Tomorrow I’ll be here with our usual Friday Stamp Simply Challenge, so hope you can check back in then!!! As always, it’ll be easy and fun!!!

A Dirty Dare

Today is the 20th, and on the 20th of each month the Dirty Girls, both current and alumni, participate in a challenge among themselves. I haven’t played for somany months, and was so happy to be able to play along today! The challenge this month is to:

  1. Make a birthday card
  2. Include numbers on your card
  3. Do NOT use the word *birthday* on your card

Well, it’ll be fun to see what everyone comes up with — here’s mine:

dcb808-bd-480-wm-notime.jpg

Well, I met all the requirements, though I’m not so sure a casual observer would realize this IS a birthday card; however, anyone receiving this on their birthday would certainly *get it* — LOL!!!

It’s another super simple card — it’s 5.5″ square, the numbers are Cuttlebug embossed, and the sentiment, I think, is appropriate for a birthday, and the greeting of *Best Wishes* stands in place of *Happy Birthday*! My sentiment is one of the centers included in the Harmony Classic Circle Stamper III ensemble by JustRite. If you’ll remember from my previous posts, that is the 3.25″ circle wood mount stamper. It comes with 6 interchangeable borders and 6 centers, and this is one of the centers. To keep the size down for today’s cardI chose NOT touse the border, only the center — options, options — I love it! I then cut and embossed this sentiment (which includes this gorgeous butterfly) with my Petite Circle Nestabilities by Spellbinders; however, if you look at this image, I could justas easily have used a square, rectangle or oval Nestability or punch — again, options, options!!! Once my circle was matted in black, then matted again in a scalloped blue, I further accented it by piercing holes into the scallops — fun!!! My butterfly is colored with Copics and then gone over with a Clear Spica Glitter pen — wish the camera would have picked up the nice delicate sparkle on her wings!!!

  • Stamps: Harmony Classic Circle Stamper III by JustRite (shipping in September, but available as a pre-order NOW from JustRite) and Sincere Salutations by SU
  • Paper: White, Black, Bashful Blue, Bashful Blue Prints DP from SU
  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black, Copics to Color
  • Accessories: Sheer Ribbon, Brad, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folder, Petite Circle Nestabilites by Spellbinders, Piercer, Mat Pack, Mounting Squares

If you’d like to check out all the other uploads coming into this fun challenge, the keyword is DCB808. They will be uploading all day long, so check back often!!! Can’t wait to see what they all do!!!

Now, I’m off to do some shopping and I’ll even be able to hit a Michael’s, and for me — that’s a real treat!!! Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday!!! As always, thanks so much for stopping in — I love knowing that you were here!!!
