MacKenzie Childs Inspired

Published by notimetostamp at 10:18 pm under Copics, General Purpose Cards, MFT

When I saw the Inspiration Challengetoday over at SCS, I just knew I had to play, time or not!!! The inspiration was from MacKenzie Childs — how fun!!! I LOVE the fun, funky and whimsical look of all things MC!!! For my inspiration for this card I used the first item pictured, which is the chair. Here’s my card:

This is the same bathtub image I used on my last post, but it was out and I thought it was just PERFECT for a MacKenzie Childs piece. This adorable bathtub image is Chill Out, by Annie LaPointe, an MFT stamp, that I got from Stampers Dream. Fun stamp!!! It is colored with Copics. My striped background was made by cutting and adhering 1/2″ strips of black paper onto yellow. The black scallop is made using my Long Rectangle Nestabilities by Spellbinders (just cut a scallop rectangle, then cut off the 1″ or so you need — easiest scalloped border EVER). The corners are Cuttlebug dies. Fun card and a fun challenge!!!

Stamps: Chill Outby MFT from Stampers Dream

Paper: PTI White, SU Black, Summer Sun, Almost Amethyst

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics, White Gelly Roll Pen

Accessories: Petite Oval Nestabilities and Long Rectangle Nestabilities by Spellbinders, Cuttlebug Corner Die, SU Brads, May Arts Dotted Sheer Ribbon, Cropadile to punch holes for ribbon, Glue Pen.

Thanks much for stopping in again!!! We’re still in holiday/vacation mode at our house and I’m having great difficulties finding time to stamp — LOL!!! The house is full and there is a lot going on, but it’s fun!!! I’m still aiming for a post every day, but no promises!!! I’ll do what I can!!! Hope you are all enjoying your holiday as well!!!

I just love a fun, bright card like this sometimes! It’s so happy! Love those colors and the polka dot ribbon with it. It’s just all so adorable! Same here with the Christmas vacation mode. My son just left today. Not much stamping has been happening–lots of household chores to do, also. But, like you, I’m enjoying it. Have fun, Sharon!

So bright, cheerful and non-Christmans :-) I finally have all my stamping messes and guest bedroom cleaned up, so I can get to my stamping stuff again. If I can get a few minutes away from watching football with my DH I will play your challenge below :-)

So fantastic! I love Mackenzie Childs. When I worked in the city, there was a store that I used to love going in from time to time to admire those beautiful creations, but I’d dare NOT go in there with my two little ones now!

    Beautiful card!
