Stamp Simply #69 – It’s Still Winter!
Keyword ssnotime69 -There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload yourproject at Splitcoastand/or your Blog, anytime at all! You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!)can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.
IT’S STILL WINTER — Yes, it is still the heart of winter, so let’s pull out those snowflake and snowman stamps now that they’ve had a little rest since Christmas. Make any type of card that says WINTER — and if you can do that without using a snowman or snowflake, all the better!!! Anything WINTER is what we’re after!!! Can’t wait to see what you all do — again, keeping it simple, if possible!!! Have fun!!!
Some great samples for the Stamp Simply Challenge today can be seen on the blogs of these designers:Julie, Janine, Jennifer, Tammy, Dee, Becky, AJ,and Deb. Please bear with us as we are all uploading and linking tonight.
You can see all Gallery Submissions here.
What wonderful samples!!! Thank you girls!!! Much appreciated!!!
Heres myproject for todays challenge:
This is a petite little card measuring 3.5 x 5.25″ that I’ll use as a winter thank you note. I used my Curved Rectangle Nestabilitiesto cut the card as well as all the layers. I stamped on a few snowflakes, glittered their centers, glittered a felt snowflake and used some taffeta ribbon. Quick, easy, wintery and I like it!!! And I do find this slightly smaller than normal size very appealing. The scripture I used is one of the Plain Jane stamps from Verve. I just got 9 of them and LOVE them!!! I think it is an absolutely fabulous idea to sell the verses individually. The price is right, the verses are beautiful and I really like all the font usedas well. I am a totally happy camper with my Plain Janes!!! Can’t wait to try out more of them!
Stamps: Plain Janes by Verve Visual, Snow Flurries by SU
Paper: PTI White, SU Bashful Blue
Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black, SU Bashful Blue
Accessories: SU: Felt Snowflake, Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestone, Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds. Curved Rectangle Nestabilities by Spellbinders, Glue Runner from Joan’s Garden.
This card is also for the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge at SCS. They started anew for 2009, but I will continue to work on my index cards for my Scripture Box as well as an occasional card, such as this. I chose Psalm 46:10, “Be Still and Know that I am God.” I thought that verse was so very appropriate for a snowy, wintery card.
Thank you so much for stopping in today. Hope you get some time to play and that you have a pleasant weekend ahead!!! I hope to really dig into my stamp room cleaning project and then get going on some Valentine projects I have in mind. I’ll be doing a Valentine series of posts, beginning next week, so hope you can check back in!

Your card is beautifully crisp and snowy in colour and stamps. I was happy to have another chance to make a snowy scene. Mine card is here:

Blue and white is my favorite winter combination — your card is beautiful! I love the shape of the card using the Nestabilities! Now, I live in Florida; we have a VERY short winter. It was 80 degrees the other day! But in the spirit of your challenge, I have created a wintry card — http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1186928?cat=500&ppuser=72594 — using a stamp I just got. It’s not new (1996), but it reminded me of one of SU’s stamps from their winter catalog.
OMGosh, i love how sweet and dainty this is, Sharon! You do light blue so well! It’s perfectly wintery!
So pretty, Sharon! Love the clean crisp look of the blue and white. Definitely looks like winter!
What a gorgeous wintry creation!! Love the decorative panel and snowflake!! π TFS!

For my card I used some stuff I already had cut and colored that never made it any further. Hope it works!
What a beautiful card!! Love the blue and white and the gorgeous snowflake. The scripture looks perfect in its beautiful frame. I just got the chance to upload last weeks challenge but it looks like it probably would have fit in for this week’s challenge, too – oh, well that’s life:) TFS

Oh, that’s pretty, Sharon! I do love a blue and white combo. I just ordered this set of Nesties, too, so it’s great to see how you used them to make this cute little card. I love the size!
Sharon – I love your blue and white color palette and the big snowflake as well! It reminded me of the cards I made before Christmas, but just sent out as thank-you notes for gifts (this post has two versions – and I just used the red base with blue snowflake version).

My other card fits the bill from a color palette standpoint – very wintry and cool colors. And it just happened to be a very wintery, dreary day here when I was making it… π
