Stamp Simply #77 – Heat It Up!
Keyword ssnotime77 -There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload yourproject at Splitcoastand/or your Blog, anytime at all! You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!)can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.
Heat It Up! When I was first learning to stamp it was gold embossing that totally WOWed me, and I still love it, though I often just don’t think to heat emboss with all the other toys available now. So for today I want you all to pull out those heat guns and heat emboss an image that will create a card conveying SIMPLE ELEGANCE!!! So go ahead and Heat it Up! with a Simply Elegant card using a heat embossed image — anything else goes!!! Have fun — I know I will!!!
Alternate: For those of you who may not own a heat gun, you may play today with a dry embossed image achieved either by hand embossing or with a folder and Cuttlebug, etc. But please be honest and use your heat gun today if you have one!!!

Heres my card for today, using silver embossing:
I’m on a run of really simple cards, and here’s another! This is made with Heartfelt Thanks, a long time favorite from SU. I chose this two-step stampin’ set today because it is so quick and easy — the color comes from coloring my rubber with my SU markers, and the outline stamp is stamped in Versa Mark and then silver embossed, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up perfectly. My sentiment is also silver embossed, but it isn’t showing up the best in this photo. I tried to photo at an angle where you could see the raised embossing and its silvery shine — it kind of shows on the flower. Here’s a closer look:
I just love the elegance the embossing adds! And I also zapped my sheer ribbon with the heat gun to crinkle it up. That is another thing I used to do a lot years and years ago but sort of have forgotten about. It really looks rather nice IRL, but looks like somewhat of a mess in these photos — so sorry!!!
And oops!!! I’ve been having a lot of those oops! moments lately. I made this card and am doing this post way too quickly as DS#2 and I are off shopping for a little kitchen remodeling project — well, I didn’t notice until viewing this card on the monitor, there is a stamp for the center of the flower that I intended to use — so just imagine a pretty yellow center in the flower — once again, sorry!!!

WOW Sharon! STUNNING as usual! just love it!
Lovely card, Sharon! The colors are so soft and beautiful! I love the crinkled ribbon, it looks fabulous! Hope your shopping trip was successful and found lots of kitchen goods!
I made a card, and then realized that you were looking for elegant. I didn’t quite meet that part of the challenge, but I did break out the heat gun!
Here’s my card:

Thanks for the challenge!
Love your card. I also got hooked on stamping in the very early 90’s after watching some embossing (back in the days when you used a toaster or the heat of an iron for clothes). Wow, haven’t we come along way with our tools and colors. Thanks for sharing. Cheryl in Reno/Sparks, NV
I didn’t even notice the missing flower center until you mentioned it. Wow… heartfelt thanks, isn’t that a blast from the past? I just pulled this set off my shelf last week and made it ‘new’ again!! It is a beautiful set, and I love your card too!
Beautiful Sharon!!
Absolutely stunning Sharon, that bow just sends me over the edge!

Mine are kind of doom & gloom but still pretty. What do you think?? http://darscraftycreations.blogspot.com/2009/03/stamp-simply-77-heat-it-up.html

heating the ribbon, I like that look!! Happy shopping, sounds like fun.
This is beautiful, Sharon! This is one of my favorite stamp sets and I LOVE your stunning card with it! Thanks for such a fun challenge! Heat embossing has always been a favorite but it’s turned into one of those that I never do anymore! 😉 Not sure why…I LOVE the effect! 🙂 Gorgeous card! 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful day! 🙂
Lovely card Sharon. I do still use my heat gun a lot – never seem to do much with ribbon though and this card just inspires me to do that.
Beautiful cards on your blog this morning, Sharon. I’m still impressed with how heat embossing looks on a card. My card isn’t too elegant, which is what you were looking for; I needed a masculine birthday card today. But here it is: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1263941?nocache=1
Very pretty card. I agree about embossing, when I first learned to stamp that’s all I wanted to do but now I try very hard to avoid it . I did play the challenge and forced myself to emboss. Pat

Sharon this card is so pretty.
I do not have the correct size Nestie so I scored the sides with the Scor-Pal and cased your card.
I do thank you for all the cards of yours I have cased.
You are my hero!!

Love both the embossed card and the fun button one. Why does your stamp simply look so elegant and my stamp simply looks so simple? Oh heck, I don’t even need to ask. Everything you do looks fantastic. I’m certainly going to use your idea of embossing the Heatfelt Thanks flower. That’s one of my all time favorite SU sets.
Love, Love, Love your card with soft silver embossing. I too love embossing, but after Copics found their way into my little hand, seems I am not reaching for the heat gun as much. Great challenge to remind us how very pretty embossing is!!!
Here’s mine for today– http://onekraftykat.blogspot.com/2009/03/golden-birthday.html
Sharon, I love this! Your embossing looks wonderful. I love how you did it as your 2nd step. What a clever idea. Your crinkle ribbon is a new twist for me and it is wonderful Great job!

I love embossing but also don’t use it much. I made this card and it also incorporates dry embosing with the Big Shot. TFL!

Great card! I love the look of the heated ribbon! I usually end up burning a hole in mine! I need to be patient with it!
A real stunner — no need for the flower center to be colored. Remember? Stamp simply!
Beautiful card Sharon!!! Loved your layout so I made mine similar!! Here is my card: http://smilingwhilestamping.blogspot.com/2009/03/still-hoping-for-spring.html
Your card is beautiful! Love the embossing with that stamp! Your heated bow turned out beautifully! I accidentally overheated a sheer ribbon once and ended up with a funny looking wad of…stuff. 🙂 Yours is perfect!
Here’s mine: http://windstarcreations.blogspot.com/2009/03/threes-charm.html
