Hope for Father

Today I have a simply made card for my Dad for Father’s Day.  He’s had a tough year, with the last  month being particularly difficult, but he is ever filled with hope, so when I saw this image I thought it just may work for his Father’s Day card.

As I said, simply made.  No stamping at all.  I’ll write the message inside.  A favorite layout of mine that always works well for a quick card — not a lot of fuss to put together.  I used 1/8″ Jute Cording for my stringy embellishment.  I do try to avoid actual ribbon on guy cards when I can, and since I do like to use some *stringy* feature on bird cards when it works, I thought the cording was perfect here.  It is a twisted 3 strand rope.  Once untwisting the 3 strands, I then untwisted the 4 strands in each of the 3.  Just roll it between your fingers and it untwists very quickly.  I just made this card, and as you can see, my glue is still wet and showing.  It will dry clear.  I’ve been a real glue dot fan for years, but I’m really liking my new bottle of Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue for adhering buttons and bows of late.  It was from Wal-Mart, very inexpensive, holds super tight and my bottle tip has not yet gunked up — my pet peeve with glues!
