Please bear with us as we are all uploading and linking on Thursday night. Everyone should be uploaded by Friday morning.  Thanks, girls!

You can see all SCS Gallery Submissions here.

And my creation for today is not a birthday card, but a GIFT that could be given as a birthday present — a simple trio of monogrammed cards — who doesn’t LOVE monograms!  Take a look:

mono-100-trio-480-wm-notime.jpg

Aren’t they pretty and fun, using some new SU DP I got — Cottage Wall.  My Moss Silk Ribbon went perfectly with this DP and the fun prints just screamed for a girly monogram, so I chose to use my FAV monogram border, Damask, and I used the Curlz Font for the initial in keeping with the light-hearted feel of this paper.  I’m happy with the results!!!  SU cardstock used is Whisper White, Orchid Opulence and Old Olive.  SU ink used is Rich Razzleberry.   Also used the SU Corner Rounder and Dimensionals.

mono-100-detail-360-notime.jpg

Here’s a better look at the monogram. Easy to do — all stamped in one color ink, cut and matted with my Petite Circle Nestabilites, embellished with Kaiser Rhinestones and crowned on top with a Moss 100% Silk Ribbon Bow made with the Bow Easy.

mono-100-single-360-485-wm-notime.jpg

This was a super easy and quick ribbon treatment — and I think it is SO flirty and fun!!!  I adhered my length of ribbon with heavy double sided tape under the monogram, ran it up and over the panel top, adhering on the back of the panel.  And see how it is then shirred at the bottom, just above the monogram?  I did that by running a piece of the same colored silk in 1/4″ under the ribbon, then drew up the tails and tied it tightly to shir the ribbon.  I then turned that 1/4″ ribbon so my knot ended up under the 1.25″ piece.  Then, after making my bow on the Bow Easy, I glued it into place using Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue and I was DONE!!!

Shopping:

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store carries the following items used to make this trio of cards:

Curlz Deluxe Monogram Kit (for font) and the Damask 1 Letter Borders (for the border), OR any of the Monogram Kits work for this type of card, all by JustRite

Moss 100% Silk Ribbon in 1.25″ and 1/4″ widths, by May Arts

Bow Easy

Hope you liked my trio of monograms!

Now, since this IS a PARTY, we’ll move on to the BLOG CANDY I am offering.

The Blog Candy winner will be drawn at 6:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, August 18.  I am offering the winner $20 of ribbon, their choice, from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  To enter, merely leave a comment below, telling me which type of ribbon either IS your favorite, or what type of ribbon you are looking for but can never find.

Here’s how it’ll work as we will have people commenting to be entered for the Blog Candy, plus people will be commenting to provide the link for their card — and that’s OK — both types of comments are welcome.  ONLY 1 comment trying for Blog Candy, BUT if you also play the challenge and link your card, THEN you get to make a 2nd comment, providing us your link.  SO, that means if you make a card or project for the challenge, you get to comment twice, giving you DOUBLE the chances to win!!!  How’s that for incentive to play — no cheating — only double comments allowed from challenge players.

OK, I guess that’s it — NOW, on to all those links above — you will see some DYNAMITE projects!  Thanks everyone, SO MUCH, for coming!!!  What’s a party without friends — so glad you stopped in to celebrate with us!!!

And remember, JustRite releases all the new Christmas sets next Monday.  Be sure to check back in for the JustRite Christmas Blog Hop on Monday.  I’ll be playing, for sure!!! You can follow all the fun at the JustRite Blog this week as they sneak peek and offer Blog Candy as well.  The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store will have Christmas sets available for purchase next week — fun stuff!!  Can’t wait!!!

  14. LeAnneon 14 Aug 2009 at 12:05 am

Sharon, these are just gorgeous….I think I would love the silk ribbon, but have never tried it as it is a tad more expensive than the others….I would just sit and look at it and never use it! I love bows on my cards, but never do big ones–although they look luscious on your cards! These colors are pretty— I may just have to get that Cottage DP!!!

I love your sheer and striped ribbons and can’t wait to get some of your silk ribbon. I also love SU’s taffeta ribbon…wish there were more colors and widths. Can’t wait to play your 100th Challenge :-) Thanks so much for hosting…….

What beautiful cards Sharon. I love love love the way you did that ribbon.
    Congratulations on your 100th challenge.
I love sheer ribbon in any width.

  20. Mary R.on 14 Aug 2009 at 12:22 am

My very favorite ribbon is the silk ribbon that I bought from your stamp simply store. Check it out on this card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1437544?nocache=1 I am loving it and will have to get more.

  21. Barbaraon 14 Aug 2009 at 12:28 am

Sharon I love your cards!! You are an inspiration . I stumbled onto your site early this year. I fell in love with your simple but elegant layouts and that lead me to start making cards. I just bought this DP. I wish you had a chart with comparable ribbon colors to match SU colors. Matching their colors in ribbon is difficult . They sell their ribbon in 15 yard spools which would take me years to use up, so I don’t buy it.

  22. cindy ziliakon 14 Aug 2009 at 12:28 am

Love the colors and the BOW!

  27. Cindion 14 Aug 2009 at 12:50 am

Your monogrammed cards are absolutely gorgeous. The ribbon drapes down the front of the cards so beautifully! I adore the fall colors of the silk ribbon.
    Many thanks, Cindi

Sharon, you are one of the first stampers I was drawn to when I first began my stamping venture about two years ago…and I keep coming back to your fabulous work and clean and simple style! Congratulations on your birthday, and thanks for all the inspiration!

  29. Shirley Leeon 14 Aug 2009 at 12:57 am

Wouldn’t it be lovely if I won? he he Congratulations on your anniversary. The blog hop was a lot of fun, and I now subscribed to more blogs. Enjoy the celebration!

Beautiful. I have not bought ribbon yet. I love the wide silk ribbon, especially the ivory.
Congratulations. Love your blog. Check it every day.

  31. Cathy Hugheson 14 Aug 2009 at 1:22 am

Silk ribbon is really difficult to get up here in B.C. Canada. I love your cards and all the ribbon you use…but, the black velvet “rickrack” you used on a prior card is simply to die for!

  32. Michelle Woerner (sf9erfan)on 14 Aug 2009 at 1:57 am

Those monogram cards are stunning Sharon! I am so proud of you with this milestone! How fantastic for you. AND I am so happy to see your store growing. What a gift life is -huh? My favorite kind of ribbon that I can never find -except in your store is the SILK ribbon! Hugs to you my friend!

  33. Nancyon 14 Aug 2009 at 2:25 am

I love the color combination and design of your note cards. I have always thought that purple and green was the best color combo in nature. The ribbon treatment is so elegant.
    Congrats on your 100th!!!
Soft, wide ribbon is my current fav - especially if it is silk! Love your blog and art.

  34. Jeanon 14 Aug 2009 at 2:26 am

    Hi Sharon,
Just love the monagrammed set. I always know I will find outstanding work when I see you have posted on your blog. I started making monagrammed note cards after I saw ones you had done quite some time ago. the Justrite stamps are wonderful….anyway as always thanks for sharing. As for my favorite ribbon, that would be impossible to say as I consider myself a ribbon-a-holic…..I can never pass up a nice price of satin, silk or whatever ribbon….thanks for giving the chance to win some…..

  35. Nenaon 14 Aug 2009 at 2:41 am

What an elegant card. Love the RIBBON!! The Damask Justrite set is at the top of
my wish list. I know now I need one. Thank you for the inspiration!! I want to offer
my Congratulations and wishes for many more blessings.

  36. Mary Friederichsenon 14 Aug 2009 at 2:56 am

Beautiful cards Sharon! I love those colors and the Ribbon is gorgeous!
My favorite ribbon is a toughie, since I love just about all of it!
But I guess it would have to be double sided satin and the silks. and also just about anything May Arts!
I also love the velvets! But what I have been looking for and have a hard time finding(since my souce stopped carrying it!) is the wide velvet ribbon …the 1 1/2 to 3 inch. I like to Heat emboss velvet, and I use to use the wide ribbon for diffrent craft items and have been want ing to do a pillow, but now can’t find the velvet ribbon. Any ideas?

Thank you for sharing you project!
And Congratulations on your 100th!! And may you be Blessed with 100 more! ( at least! LOL)

  82. Kayon 14 Aug 2009 at 11:12 am

Love your monogram cards! That ribbon is gorgeous. I was so happy to find the jute string in colors, and ordered several of them. They are great for threading buttons. Just used the bow easy for a baptism card last week, and was very pleased, even with my first effort. I am definitely “bow-challenged!”

  83. Cat Spiceron 14 Aug 2009 at 11:34 am

Wahoo for birthdays!!! I can’t wait to explore the blog hop and make a card. For now I’ll just toss my name in for the FAB candy. I’m a ribbon FREAK!

  84. Patsy Behrendton 14 Aug 2009 at 11:35 am

this is so much fun!! As for ribbon, I have a hard time finding the wider silky ribbons that make such beautiful bows! I would never have thought about putting a bow on a card but after following these blogs, I was hooked. Then I had to have a bow easy and now, I just have to find some great ribbon so I can prove that my bad bows are not me but the tacky ribbon I have been using!!! Thanks for a fun morning on the blogs!

  85. Sandee Quitteron 14 Aug 2009 at 11:36 am

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these cards. The colors are awesome! THank you for sharing your lovely work.

Love the monogram cards! I’d like to have some of the big silk ribbon. Haven’t seen that anywhere else.

  88. Leslie Milleron 14 Aug 2009 at 11:49 am

Sharon, these are gorgeous! That paper is on my wish list. It looks sooooooo pretty with your incredible silk ribbon and monogram! BTW, lately my favorite ribbon is gingham, sort of a medium width. I’m enjoying a more cheerful, perky look, and the gingham just makes me feel happy.

  89. Carol Lon 14 Aug 2009 at 11:51 am

Happy Anniversary and Congratulations for 100 challenges!! Your monogram cards are just stunning! I’d have to say my favorite ribbon is the beautiful checkered ribbon you have in your store. I love the silk ribbon and save that for very special cards, but I always reach for the checkered ribbon first. It makes the most beautiful bows with the Bow-Easy!

  90. Carol Lon 14 Aug 2009 at 11:52 am

Congrats on your 100th week of creating such beautiful, inspirational items!
I seem to use gingham the most often, but can’t wait to get my hands on some of that velvet rick rack you are offering.
    Thanks -
    Karen

  95. Susan Gon 14 Aug 2009 at 12:29 pm

I love gingham and grosgrain ribbons, but I’ve never tried and of the silk variety. Bet I’d be sold! I love all your monogrammed projects. You’ve inspired me to make several sets of note cards for gifts. They have been very well received. Thanks for your inspiration and the chance to win some ribbon.

  96. Lori Stokes Wrighton 14 Aug 2009 at 12:31 pm

Beautiful cards! I love ribbon, esp. wide striped ribbon!

  97. terriavidreaderon 14 Aug 2009 at 12:45 pm

I love the cards you made - and the monogram works for me too!! My favorite type of ribbon is a solid color about 3/4 inch wide. I have tons of sheer ribbons also which I do like, but I had (notice HAD) some deep dark brown chocolate ribbon - didn’t know where it came from as I had taken off roll and put on clothespin - but it was my very favorite - and I never could find it again. Thanks for the chance for blog candy !

  98. sharonon 14 Aug 2009 at 12:46 pm

Happy birthday!! I will have a fun morning enjoying all the beautiful cards.
As far as ribbon, I seem to lean toward the sheers.

Happy Birthday!! Mine was on Wednesday. First, I love coming to your blog just to see your beautiful creations. I bought several colors of your 1.25″ ribbons and LOVE them. I never had thought of using the wide ribbon on cards until I saw your examples and I really like how sophisticate they look.

  104. Toni Storieon 14 Aug 2009 at 2:37 pm

WooHoo, Stamp Simply turns 100! I love to use SU!’s taffeta ribbon. With that said, my only complaint is that it isn’t wide enough. I love the look of silk ribbon and would dearly love to get my hands on some May Arts silk ribbon and a bow-easy for sure! I will be playing later :)

Hmmm, ribbon - I like ribbons with opulence - so I’d like to see crushed velvet ribbons in broader widths where they would be rich in colour and really take center stage on a card!

  126. Nancy Schultzon 14 Aug 2009 at 9:26 pm

Sharon your cards are beautiful. I love the bow. I think that silk ribbon is the hardest to find. I have my first order of silk ribbon from you on it’s way to my house and i can’t wait to get it. I can’t wait to make the monogramed gift card set for one of my co-workers. She will love them. I love all your ribbon but I have been looking for a specific ribbon. It is for an OSU hoodie card. It is gray silk edged in red. It is 1/4″ in diameter. I received a sample card using this ribbon and I cannot find it anywhere. Any ideas?

Sharon, I adore all your creations! My favorite ribbon is the 1.25″ silk ribbon in ivory…it is so elegant. I also love the Moss ribbon. Thanks for the chance to win.

I love the sheer ribbons that you have in the store. I took a look just now and hadn’t remembered/realized HOW much you have “in store”. Love your blog & the challenges. I shall see if I can get a card made today; can you ever have too many birthday cards on hand???
