And here’s my wrap job for this week:

wrap-trio-of-boxes-360-396-wm.jpg

I’ll be the first to admit that I love, love, LOVE fiddling with this type of project.  I could sit and do these type of boxes all day long, putting together different paper and ribbon combinations.  They are so quick and easy you have SUCH a feeling of accomplishment in short order — and I like that!

box-m-360w.jpg

These boxes are 2″ cubes - 2×2x2.  They are made from 2 sheets of 6 x 6 DP.  I used the new DP I have listed for sale by Kaiser — Dear Santa and Belle.  I used Dear Santa on this box.

box-t-360-w.jpg

I used the Belle DP pad for this box.  All my monograms are tiny, done with the 1 3/16″  Monogram Kit which contains my favorite Damask borders, just in a smaller size.  I LOVE this tiny little size for fun projects.  SO quick - and to aid in speed, these monograms are a perfect fit for the SU punches.  On all 3 boxes today I used SU’s 1 1/4 and 1 3/8″ punches and SU’s Scallop Punch.

box-b-360w.jpg

I just got 3 new types of Velvet Ribbon in LOTS of yummy colors. Soon as I’m done here, I’m going to photo it and load it into my Ribbon Store, so check it out if you like velvet!  I LOVE velvet for rich, lush holiday projects!!!  Even using just a little velvet on a project adds so much!

1-316-product-360w.jpg

Here’s the small 1 3/16″ Stamper/Monogram Kit by JustRite.  It sells for $19.95 and makes a wonderful addition to your existing monogram collection OR a wonderful gift for someone this Christmas.  It’s complete and ready to use with the Stamper, Font and Damask Borders.  I have plenty in stock.

Now, for the how-to on the boxes:

Box Base:  Using a 6 x 6 sheet of DP, score 2″ in from all 4 edges.  Cut slits for tabs, fold and tape.

Box Top:  Using a coordinating sheet of DP, cut it to 4 1/16 x 4 1/16.  Score 1″ in from all 4 edges.  Cut slits for tabs, fold and tape.  Your top will fit perfectly!

JustRite November Release Blog Hop

It’s Hip to be Square!  Well, with the NEW JustRite Square Monogram products, it certainly IS Hip to be Square.

jr-november-09-blog-hop-hip-to-be-square.jpg

I had a specific purpose in mind when I set out to create today’s project.  I have over 100 people on my Christmas card list, and as much as I’d love to make them each a hand made card, I just can’t due to time constraints.  I sent out many store-bought cards last year (hanging my head in shame — LOL!).  Well, this year I JUST may be able to make those 100+ cards if I continue in the same vein as today’s project.  Take a look at my cards and I’ll explain to you what I’ve done to make these SUPER quick and simple.

wm-card-trio-360w.jpg

Has anyone been shopping at Wal-Mart lately?  The base card is in a boxed set of 18 I purchased there.  I made the small panels to adhere on the front, giving my cards that totally hand made feel!

wm-trio-product-360w.jpg

My panels were made using the NEW JustRite 2″ Square Monogram Stamper and a border from the NEW 2″ Square Decorative Frames (contains 6 square borders).  And rather than do a monogram in the center, I chose to use one of the Christmas centers from A Merry Little Christmas.  It works perfectly here and I loved how the scrolled lines on the center mimicked the design on the frame itself.

wm-trio-stamps-detail-440.jpg

Here’s a clearer view of the stamper, frames and center.

wm-trio-boxed-cards-440.jpg

And here’s a look at the cards I purchased as a boxed set of 18 from Wal-Mart for $5.00.  The interesting thing about these cards is that they are designed to have a photo adhered in the center, with  sticky tape stripes included.  Also the design is such that it is in need of a focal image, SO rather than a photo, I figured I could make a focal image and turn these very quickly into hand-made cards for Christmas.

wm-trio-small-panels-360w.jpg

These are the 3 little focal image panels I made.  They measure 3 x 4.25″.  A nice small and very do-able little piece, even if you may have large quantities to make.  The overall card is 5.25 x 7.75″.

wm-card-detail-360-268.jpg

As luck would have it, SU’s Close to Cocoa cardstock was a perfect match to these purchased cards — a total bonus!!!  I love the POP created by using the pure white cardstock against the Close to Cocoa and the pure white 100% Silk Ribbon.    My bows are made using the Bow Easy, and the how-to for this fun and flirty ribbon treatment can be seen here.  My focal image is stamped in VersaMark and gold embossed, then cut with my Classic Square Nestabilities by Spellbinders.  My Close to Cocoa and White rectangular mats are merely cut on my paper cutter.

wm-horizcards-440-330-wm.jpg

This card was done in horizontal orientation. That was another thing I loved about these particular cards — you could use them either vertically or horizontally and they *worked* due to the way the text is on the card front.  The sentiment inside is printed in a square perimeter format, so the inside *works* as well in either orientation — so that was a fun feature using these cards.

wm-card-2left-250-350-wm.jpgwm-card-left-250-350-wm.jpg

These 2 cards were done in a vertical orientation.  The measurements for all three panels shown today are the same.  The only difference is the placement of the stamped focal image and the ribbon within that basic rectangular frame.

2-inch-square-stamper-single.jpg2-inch-square-borders-6.jpg

Here’s a graphic of the product used — the NEW 2″ Square Stamper purchased alone ($9.95), and the NEW 2″ Square Decorative Frames (contains 6 borders)($12.95).  Border enables use of 6 or 15pt font to create custom sayings. 2″ and 1 5/8″ Centers fit in the center area.  These items can be purchased individually as show above, OR they can also be purchased within a kit, shown below:

2-inch-square-kit.jpg

The NEW 2″ Square Monogram Kit ($24.95) contains the 2″ Wood Stamper, four 2″ Square Decorative Frames and 95pt uppercase Special Occasions font set (36pcs), 50pt uppercase Spec Occ font set (92pcs), and an uppercase 15pt Spec Occ font set (264pcs)– that’s 392 characters!

Stamp Simply #113 - Matchbook Folds

Matchbook Folds — I’m on a fold kick latey, and today it is a matchbook fold.  With this fold you have one small fold and one large fold so it kind of looks like and opens like a matchbook.  Check out all the DT samples today for some fun ideas and great inspiration with this fun fold!

Keyword ssnotime113 - There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload your project at Splitcoast and/or your Blog, anytime at all. You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!) can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.

And here’s my matchbook creation for this week,

113-miss-you-360w-wm-notime.jpg

I haven’t done a matchbook fold in years and forgot how FUN they were.  I kept it simple, using Raspberry Tart DP and Cameo Coral (SU) for my color and some of the NEW product by JustRite for my Miss You Sentiment from JUST A NOTE  and my 2″ WIDE Border — links at end of post.  I have a piece of 3/8″ Black Velvet glued onto the bottom portion, and it’s just cut on the ends. (NOTE:  3 new types of Velvet are being added to the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store this weekend!)

113-fold-480-wm-notime.jpg

Here’s the open view so you can see how it functions.  The top flap slides under the bottom flap, just like a matchbook.  I have the very bottom portion of the small flap glued down, way inside the fold, allowing room for the top flap to enter.  (When you click on Bethany’s link above, she shows a photo of exactly what I did — she did it just the same.)  My sentiment is attached to the bottom flap with SU Dimensionals.  It is cut with my Petite Circle Nesties and decorated with Kaiser Pearls in Snow.  Here’s the how-to:

  • Cut your paper the long way, to 11 x 4 25.

  • Score in 1.25″ from one short edge, score again 5.25″ down from your first score.

113-miss-you-detail-320-notime.jpg

Two NEW sets available on preorder were used to make this sentiment.  JUST A NOTE BORDER AND CENTERS to fit the 1 5/8 and 2″ Stampers was used for the sentiment and the 2″ ROUND WIDE BORDERS was used for my pretty, wide border.

If you scroll to the bottom of this post you can see some of the NEW product and click on links to take you to the other sets in the November Release lineup.

The above link also provides you with a comprehensive list and links to all items currently sale priced at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store – briefly:

Ribbon Spools (15% off) (not cut yardage)

Scor-It Full Sized and Scor-It Mini (20% off)

I am still accepting preorders on the NEW JustRite Product, due to arrive soon!  Email me at ssj@up.net to reserve your favorite sets!

Also my 6 x 6 Pads of Kaiser Paper have shipped so I should have them next week!

Thanks much for stopping in to check out our challenge!  I can’t wait to see what the DT girls have done and I hope you can give a matchbook fold a try as well!!! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.  Hope to see you soon!

Bigger Bows for the Holidays —

Published by notimetostamp under Announcements, Bow Easy

– with the BIGGER Bow Easy!  Make bows for packaging, gift baskets, wreaths, your Christmas tree or anything that just might need a pretty, big bow!!!  I just today received a shipment of the BIGGER Bow Easy and I have a few sample bows to show you here.  And , YES, the BIGGER Bow Easy works just like the small one we’ve all been using for our cards and papercraft projects — it’s just BIGGER.  It measures 11.75″ x 13″, so you see, it is BIG.  The legs allow you to make bows in four sizes - 4″, 5″, 6″ and 8″, when flat.  The bows lose width as you puff them up after made.  I’ll show you samples I just did:

pink-10-loop-420-wm-notime.jpg

This bow is made of some leftover 2″ wired ribbon from last year, from some superstore.  It has 10 loops, meaning I wrapped it around the legs 5 times.   It was made on the largest set of legs and after puffing it up it measures about 6.5″ wide.   I think this would look so pretty on an elegant *girly* package or gift basket!

gold-8-loop-420-wm-notime.jpg

Again, 2″ wired superstore ribbon.  This bow has 8 loops, meaning I wrapped it around the legs 4 times.  I see this on a pretty Christmas package or used on a wreath, or perhaps even a tree topper with long streamers hanging down.  This bow took me about 2.5 yards and it has tails that hang down about a foot.

purple-6-loop-420-wm-notime.jpg

Again, leftover 2″ wired, superstore ribbon.  This is a triple bow, having 6 loops, meaning I wrapped it 3 times around the legs.  This time I arranged the loops just to form the upper half, rather than the full rounded bow as in the first 2 samples.  Once you pull your bow off the Bow Easy, you can just fiddle with your loops and come up with any configuration that pleases you — it’s really so easy once the bow is made!  All three samples thus far are about 6.5″ across and were made on the largest legs.

gold-single-420-wm-notime.jpg

Same ribbon, 2″ wired. This is the most simple of bows, a single bow, just wrapped around the legs one time.  I love this simple bow!  How pretty it would look on a package or gift basket handle.  And just imagine many of these adorning your Christmas tree — SOOOOO do-able, and it wouldn’t take long.  These bows you make yourself on the Bow Easy have so much more dimension and life than the flat bows you can buy in the stores.  Again, this bow was made on the largest set of legs and once puffed up as I have it, it measure’s 6.5″ across.  The BIGGER Bow Easy gives you 3 more options for smaller sizes.

pink-stripe-double-360w-wm-notime.jpg

This darling double bow was made on the 5″ set of legs using my May Arts Striped Grosgrain ribbon.  It’s about 4.5″ wide once fluffed up.  These pretty pink stripes remind me of a baby girl — maybe to decorate her room, or wouldn’t this ribbon be fun used as curtain tie-backs and then have these darling bows to place on the tie-backs — fun!!!  Or a pretty bow like this would be fun to adorn a girly little picture frame as well — lots of options!!!

I had more bows to show you using my May Arts ribbon, but as luck would have it, my camera battery died, so I’ll have to save them for another time.

I have plenty of the BIGGER Bow Easy in stock.  It is selling for $12.  If you’d like one, just email me at ssj@up.net.  As always, I have plenty of the original, smaller Bow Easy as well.

I have 2 more items to add to my sale this week.  I haven’t said before, but I’m trying to reduce inventory as I’m moving my *ribbon store* downstairs, and the less I have to transport down, the better!  LOL!!!   Actually my *ribbon store* has kind of taken over the main level of our home, so it’s high time I move out!  I am reclaiming space in our basement that is actually abutting my stamp room.  The space used to be for the boys when they were little — it had twin beds for sleepovers, plus a daybed, foosball table, bumper pool table, exercise equipment, and all kinds of other boy stuff.  And since they’ve grown and haven’t used that space much to speak of in years, it also collected a lot of *stuff* that had no other home — so I think you’re getting the picture — LOL!!! I have MAJOR stuff to get rid of to empty this room so I can use it.  And it’s not an easy task, but that’s what I’ve been working on, and it’ll be a while yet until it gets to where I want it, but baby steps — each piece that leaves that room evokes a huge sigh of relief from me!!!

Anyway, back to the issue here — what am I adding to my sale priced items this week?  How about the Scor-It Boards.  I have them available in both the 12″ Full Sized Board and the Mini Board (which comes with a free tote).  Let’s say 20% off either board — how does that sound?  The large board is heavy, but I’ll say $8.95 shipping to any US address on the large 12″ board.   You can view and read about both boards here.

I am still accepting preorders of all the NEW JustRite product.   You can check out the links below to see my samples and you can check out the JustRite Blog for even more inspiration.

You may click here and here to see samples I made with the NEW Square Monogram product, and you may click here to see a sample I’ve done with the NEW 2″ Wide Monogram product.  You may click here to see a sample done with the NEW Just A Note Borders and Centers Set.

Stamp Simply #112 - Let’s Be Thrifty

Let’s be Thrifty — I love the simple and natural look of brown postal wrap and/or the inside of brown paper grocery sacks.  I use them often at Christmas to wrap packages, but they would work well in card making, too!  And that is today’s challenge — use either brown postal wrap OR the inside of a paper grocery sack in your project.  And your project may be anything at all — a card, a wrapped pacakge, a 3-D or altered item — decorated to the hilt or done plain and simple — let’s just collectively find some uses and share ideas for using a fun, inexpensive and under-utilitized product!

Keyword ssnotime112 - There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload your project at Splitcoast and/or your Blog, anytime at all. You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!) can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.

As we leave October behind, we have to say goodbye to Amy who graced us with her lovely, clean and fun designs all month!  We know where you are, Amy — we’ll be watching and hope you can continue to play with us sometime.  Be sure to stop in and visit Amy at Ink About Me.  You’ll be glad you did!!!

And with the new month comes a new Guest Designer — always fun — and today I’m so pleased to let you know that Bethany Paull has agreed to play with  us for the month of November!   I was drawn to Bethany’s work a few years ago over at SCS and I know you’ll love her designs that are filled with fun and life!!!  Welcome, Bethany!!!  You can visit her at It’s Not All Black and White.

And here’s my thrifty creation for this week:

113-package-480-wm-notime.jpg

A brown paper grocery sack and white cardstock are the only papers used — how’s that for being thrifty!  I wrapped my box in a brown paper grocery sack turned inside out and there’s some paper bag detail on the tag as well.  Check out the edges of my box — see them shimmer?  I just quickly and without much care DTP’d (direct to paper) my box edges with the VersaMark Pad and then I brushed on Perfect Pearls in gold, wiping off the excess with a Swiffer cloth.  It gave my box kind of a shimmery and *special* glow!  I used the white *hairy* yarn for the ribbon to wrap the package and my lush Velvet Zig Zag  ribbon for the bow and the accent on the tag.

113-detail-480.jpg

See the brown paper bag strip under the heart?  It is edged with gold painty pen, as is the  tag.  The top layer of the two layered punched snowflake is also my grocery sack.  After punching it, I squished it in the Versa Mark Pad and then brushed on the Perfect Pearls in Gold — really shimmery and nice!

And see my focal image?  That’s from a NEW RELEASE by JustRite.  This set of versatile sentiments can be purchased in 2 ways — either individually as a center/border set or in a kit providing you with everything you need to start stamping.  Here’s the graphics of the set:

2″ Round Monogram Options!

Oh yes, round monograms JUST got bigger and better!!   JustRite’s day two reveal is the 2″ Round Deluxe Monogram product with beautiful and ornate borders!!!  I made a quick gift today to share with you.

I am accepting preorders for all the new JustRite product being revealed this week.  And, I am putting ALL JustRite Christmas sets on sale (details below).   But first, let’s look at the quick gift I made today:

ribboned-candle-480-wm-notime.jpg

Another Wal-Mart treasure!  It smells SO good — Lemongrass Sage Verbena — A delight for the senses!!!  But, of course, I could never give it as it was, so with a few quick additions I had a dressed up candle, all set to give!  I used the BRAND NEW 2″ Round  Wide Borders.  They may have been designed with monogramming in mind, but guess what?  All the JustRite 1 5/8″ centers fit in them — OH happy day!!!  How this expands the use of all our 1 5/8″ centers!!!

ribboned-candle-focal-320-notime.jpg

I used a border from the 2″ Round Wide Borders, which is a perfect choice for those of you who already own the 2″ stamper and some font (the Stamper, Font and Borders come with the Kit).  I decided to use this pretty candle image from A Merry Little Christmas.  My paper is SU Bravo Burgundy and my ribbon is the 1.5″ Striped Grosgrain by May Arts that I carry in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  One Kaiser Rhinestone dresses it up just enough.  My Petite Circle Nesties by Spellbinders were used to cut the Border pieces, while I used my SU punches, 1 1/4 and 1 3/8, to cut the focal image.

ribboned-candle-back-360-w.jpg

And, of course, I have to show you my bow on the back of the candle.  It’s just wrapped around the candle and tied into a bow.  It’s easy to work this wide ribbon into a nice bow that holds its shape.  Trim the tails and done!  My Fiskars Scissors give me perfect cuts EVERY time!

ribboned-candle-product.jpg

Here’s a visual of the product used.  On the left is the 2″ Round Stamper, the Times New Roman Font and the 4 Borders that are included when you purchae the 2″ Round Deluxe Monogram Kit.  On the right are the 9 borders that come when you purchase the Decorative 2″ Wide Round Borders.  And in the background is A Merry Little Christmas that I used for the center focal image on my 1 5/8 Wood Stamper.

The 2″ Round Monogram product is available to you in 2 formats and here are the graphics:

2-inch-round-monogram-kit.jpg

Monogram Gift Bag is JustRite

Some women have a shoe fettish.  Me, I have a gift bag fettish.  Though I have hundreds of them here, I just had to buy one more yesterday on my usual Sunday afternoon stroll through Wal-mart.  I entered their Christmas decorating section for the first time this year and picked up a few more little items to alter, too!  It’s monogram madness for me this week, so we’ll see how many little gift items I can get completed.  Here’s what I started with today:

tlk-bag-supplies-440.jpg

  • A pretty, but rather bland and VERY alterable, gift bag;

  • A heart I made by gold embossing an old Magenta stamp I’ve had, cutting and matting onto Gold Mirricard with my Heart Nesties by Spellbinders;

  • A key I fell in love with, a Christmas tree decoration from Wal-mart for $1 (I think);

  • And my NEW 2″ Square Monogram by JustRite — I’m still just giddy with delight over these square monograms that will be available 11/13.  I am taking preorders for the new JustRite product being released – just email me at ssj@up.net and I’ll get back to you with details.  Scroll down to read more about the square product.

And here’s my altered gift bag:

Much improved over the original — agreed?  And the exciting part for me is that it was quick and easy - which is my entire premise for holiday projects - HAS to be!  And are you getting the symbolism — the KEY to my HEART — LOL!!!  Although I created this as a Christmas gift bag, it would be perfectly suited for a Valentine’s gift as well, or any *lovey* occasion!!!

Just a better look at the stamped heart and tree ornament key.  That’s old SU gold cording that I used to tie them on. The ribbon is 1″ Satin by May Arts.

Here’s a closer look at the monogram I created and the actual 2″ Square Wood Stamper with the Special Occasions Font used for the letters.  I thought this ornate frame was just perfect to go with the ornate heart I used today.  The monogram and layers are cut with my Classic Square Nesties by Spellbinders.

You can make these lovely square monograms by purchasing the product in a couple different ways.  The 2″ Square Monogram products are available as:

1)  Decorative 2″ Square Monogram Kit (Stamper, Font & 4 Borders) - $24.95;

2)  2″ Square Wood Stamper Only - $9.95;

3)  2″ Square Decorative Frames Only (6 Borders) - $12.95

Please refer to this post for more details on this new 2″ Square product.

To preorder and get on my list for 1st shipment, email me at ssj@up.net

Flower Soft Blog Hop

Note:  This is Post #2 for today.  Please check out Post #1, new JustRite Product, as well.

Another month has come and gone and it’s time for our monthly Flower Soft Blog HopFlower Soft has some fun new product to share this month, and I’ll tell you , I had SO much fun doing this.  Can you think of perhaps combining a snow globe and a shaker card?  Well, that’s just what I have to show you today — take a look:

Talk about fun!!!  Truly, a Snow Globe filled with a layered image and some snow to shake (Polar White Flower Soft)!  And easy, just my style — the Aperature Cards with the oval cutouts come all set and ready for us to use.  The plastic domes fit (Snow Globes) them perfectly.  And the images that I’ve layered come pre-printed (3-D Cutout Toppers) ready for us to cut out and layer with dimensionals.  Take a look at the product:

This is exactly what I used to make my card — the Aperature Cards with Envelopes, the 3-D Cutouts, the Snow Globes, Polar White Flower Soft and Flower Soft Glue.  You’ll need to have your own dimensional products — I used SU Dimensionals.  And the Good Newsexactly what you see above is being offered as blog candy at the Flower Soft Blog, so make sure you head over to the Flower Soft Blog to enter for your chance to win this fun prize!

Here’s a bit more detail for you to see.  The layered image inside has Polar White Flower Soft applied to appear as both fallen snow and the fuzz on the girls jacket/hood.  My ribbons, both 1.5″ and 3/8″ are May Arts Gingham, and the buttons are Basic Grey.  I carry both in the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store

The DP is Frosty Days by SU.  And I might add, the card is white.  It was quick and easy to cover it with this DP.  I used the very largest solid oval in the Petite Oval Nestabilities.  The shape is PERFECT!  I cut a sheet of paper 5.75″ wide x 12″ long (that’s how long the DP was).  I placed my large Oval on the sheet so when it was cut I could place my sheet over the card.  Just make sure you place your Oval so once cut the DP covers all of the card.  Once the Snow Globe is glued onto your card, then apply adhesive to the card front and carefully place the DP over the globe, making sure you get a nice even white border around your globe.  Now, the DP is much larger than the card.  It’s now easy to go to your paper cutter and carefully trim of all excess DP.  This is quick and not any time is spent fussing with measurements!

Just trying to show you the dimension of both the globe itself and the layered images inside.
