Stamp Simply #115 - Mass Production
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE! Tonight’s Challenge comes a bit earlier than usual because I wanted to extend my Thanksgiving Wishes to you all before the day is over. I am so VERY THANKFUL to each and every one of you who frequents these blog pages to check out what I’m up to or to see what may be on the store pages. Your visits, comments and emails are what make it all worth-while. I only hope that I can give back to you a portion of what you give to me — THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
And on a larger scale, we in this country are so very blessed — let us not forget those blessings or take them for granted — let us pray for God’s continued blessings on this nation, as well as on all nations, as we trust in Him.
“…in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Mass Production — We’ve done something similar before, but at this time of year when many of us mass produce Christmas cards (that should be mailed out real soon!), I thought it was appropriate to do this again. Create a card that is SUPER easy to mass produce — like once designed you could realistically sit down and do 6 or 8 or more within an hours time. Super simple, easy to reproduce cards for Christmas or any occasion that suits your fancy — that is our today’s challenge! Have fun and can’t wait to see!!!
Keyword ssnotime114 - There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload your project at Splitcoast and/or your Blog, anytime at all. You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!) can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.
Check out the great samples for the Stamp Simply Challenge today on the blogs of these fabulous designers:
Please bear with us all as we each upload and link on Thursday night. Everyone should be up and set by Friday morning.
You may see all SCS Gallery Submissions here.
And here’s my mass production cards for this week:
MC = Merry Christmas. My card insides will contain a simple *Merry Christmas* to tie the monogram in with the sentiment. Papers used are SU Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Belle DP by Kaiser. 3/4″ Velvet Ribbon by May Arts, Kaiser Pearls in Champagne and Cuttlebug Corner Dies add accents. And my monogram is done with the NEW JustRite product that I’m so in love with — the 2″ Square Stamper and the 2″ Square Frames. I used Times New Roman Font that I borrowed from my Customer Design Cardmaking Kit,but you may use any of the JustRite font you have — it’s all interchangeable! And the 2″ Square Stamper and 2″ Square Frames are available for purchase either separately or as part of the 2″ Square Monogram Kit. That kit comes with the Special Occasions Font which is especially lovely in these ornate frames.
I designed this trio of cards so as to use up every inch of one sheet of 6 x 6 designer paper. Two quick cuts and you have 3 pieces of DP for the 3 cards shown today. Make your first cut at 4 1/4″. That leaves you with one long narrow strip for the card shown on top (you will have a small bit to cut off this strip once adhered to card, about 1/2″). Then cut the remaining 6″ piece in half at 3″, giving you the 2 pieces for the 2 other cards. 2 easy cuts and NO waste — so that’s always good.
This vertically oriented card is a top fold, my favorite kind! I used the Cuttlebug Corner Die as what would appear to be a picture hanger. Love this use of that die! I run the die cut pieces through my Xyron X for easy adhesion. The 3/4″ Velvet Ribbon is wrapped entirely around the card front, being adhered under the monogram.
This is horizontally oriented with a side fold, another fun fold I enjoy. The ink used on these cards is my favorite, no fail ink — VersaFine Onyx Black. Always gives good clear and crisp coverage and is especially great for fine lined detail, and it lasts almost forever.
Another horizontally oriented with a top fold. Mass producing is most definitely the way to go when a lot of cards are needed, but I do find it tends to get a bit boring doing the same card over and over. Using these cuts for your 6 x 6 DP still allows you to mass produce very quickly, but adds a little interest and variety as you produce!
I realize my Christmas trio today is rather non-traditional for Christmas, but non-traditional cards at Christmas always seem to be my favorites! However, this sampling of cards also works great for a monogrammed gift set — simple, classy and easy to make up!
