Stamp Simply #120 – NEW Things!

Happy NEW Year, Everyone!  Emphasis is on NEW. Today we will create a project using something NEW— perhaps a gift received, something you treated yourself to, or maybe even something you purchased or received ages ago and just haven’t used yet.  Whatever is NEW to you — just give it a try — and you can interpret this very liberally — you could try a NEW technique, a NEW fold, anything that is NEW to you!!!  Just be sure to tell us what NEW thing you are showing us — have fun!!!

Remember to use Mr. Linky below!

Anyone is welcome and invited to play!  SCS Keyword is ssnotime120 for those who upload at SCS.  There is no time limit. You can play this challenge  anytime at all.  The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Bloggers, please link back here using Mr. Linky below.

Check out the samples today on the blogs of these fabulous designers:

I know I’m posting especially early tonight, so please bear with us all as we each upload and link on Thursday night.  Please check back later to catch some more uploads linked above.   Everyone should be up and set by Friday morning.

You may see all SCS Gallery Submissions here.

And here’s my card today using several NEW items:

120-wedding-angle-360-397-wm-notime.jpg

We were invited to a wedding reception this evening, yes, on New Year’s Eve!  This is the card for that wedding.  The couple was actually married about 9 months ago just before the husband was deployed to Afghanistan.  He is now home and they are celebrating with their reception tonight.  God Bless this young couple as they begin their new life together and God Bless the USA in the year to come!

So, what did I use NEW on this card — many things!  The first of which I want to show you is the NEW JustRite stamp set called Loving Thoughts Centers.  The moment I saw this new set I knew which stamp I wanted to use for this wedding card — it was just perfect!!!

JR -09725 Loving Thoughts Centers

Loving Thoughts contains a combination of 1 5/8″ round centers as well as square & rectangular centers.  The 1 5/8″ centers can be used with all of the JustRite 1 5/8″ borders and the centers also work beautifully in the 2″ Square Frames, and that’s how I’ve used it here today on my wedding card.

2-inch-square-borders-6.jpg

This is the 2″ Square Frames set I used, which is still *kinda* new — LOL!!!  And I LOVE it — surely one of my favorite new items!  The Square Frames are used on the also *kinda new* 2″ Square Stampers.   I just can’t seem to get enough of these squares!!!  I used my Classic Square Nestabilities  by Spellbinders to cut the stamped image and mats.

120-wedding-straight-360-397-wm-notime.jpg

And one more NEW thing I used today is my paper — this sheet of designer paper is from a 6 x 6 pad called Lilac Avenue by Kaisercraft.  The pad has many highly reflective sheets in it and this is one of them.  I love the design in this paper combined with the design of the stamped square frame!  MADE to go together!!!  The bow is 100% White Silk Ribbon by May Arts and my double bow was made using the Bow EasyInstructions for this ribbon treatment can be found here.  My card is 5.5″ square and the frame/sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark Ink and silver embossed.

That was my quick and easy wedding card for today, using many NEW things — hope you liked it and hope you can find some time to play along and show us something NEW coming out of YOUR stamp room!!!  Thanks much for stopping in!!!

  33. Jan says:

For my cards I used a new to me chalk technique that I stumbled on while browsing the web….I used some “new to me” sponsor products – I know it’s hard to believe but yes it’s true, I have never used chalk enhancer or Magic Mesh before! And I also used some pattern paper I received from my Secret Santa this past Christmas.

  34. I’ve used something new on my card

    Mandy’s Card

Happy New Year to you all 🙂

  35. carol says:

Hi Sharon, you have to be my all time favorite artist right now, your work is fabulous and your ribbons are a joy. I use them all the time. Ass for ordering new, does May carry a soft or supple Moire pattern? I would love the opportunity to win your Lavendar and Green kit and if I don’;t win it I will probably have to think abnout buying it. Thanks for all your inspiration. Carol

  36. […] This is a visual of Loving Thoughts.  The 4 rounds sentiments fit the 1 5/8″  Round Wood Stamper, and they also fit into the 2″ Round Wood Stamper, as do all 1 5/8″ round stamps.  There are 2 rectangular/square stamps in this set that are made to fit in the 2″ Square Stampers — LOVE those.  I’ve used them often already.  You can see a sample here.
