Stamp Simply #129 – Punched Borders
Thanks to Tammy for writing this week’s challenge – a great one, Tammy! Here it is: (strange blog issues again — I apologize for this large print here, can’t fix it)
Punched Borders– My most favorite tool to use lately is my Apron Lace border punch. And there just seem to be more and more border punches available all the time from many different companies. So the challenge is to use your border punches, or create the semblance of a punched border. You can use Nestabilities to make what resembles a punched border as Sharon shows here, or even use a corner rounder punch to create a scalloped border as Beate shows on this SCS Tutorial. Remember to use Mr. Linky below!
Anyone is welcome and invited to play! SCS Keyword is ssnotime129 for those who upload at SCS. There is no time limit. You can play this challenge anytime at all. The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here using Mr. Linky below.
And today we’d like to warmly welcome our March Guest Designer, Marlene Bender. Many of you know Marlene from SCS as Cards4U and by her Blog, Heart Spring. Marlene’s work is absolutely beautiful and really caught my eye as I cruised her blog. She’s played our challenges before and I’m just so pleased to be able to share her creations with you all as she serves as our March Guest Designer. WELCOME, MARLENE!!!
And another big WELCOME goes out today to Deb Neerman as she has graciously agreed to stay on as one of the regular DT members in Julie’s absence. So HAPPY you agreed to stay, Deb!!! Many thanks!

And here’s my border punched card for today:
Just playing around this evening with new paper, new ribbon and punches, of course! I used a new (in the drawer for probably a year, but never used) edger punch from EK Success called Dotted Wave — loved it! WHY don’t I pull out my punches more often? I also used a tag punch by Marvy Uchida for my little *Blessed* tag (retired SU So Very) – so simple and a fun touch!
My paper is by October Afternoon called Ducks in a Row — new in my store and seen here. Darling baby themed pad!
The 1″ Ric Rac is also new in my store, just arrived today, and talk about FUN. I used the Turquoise to wrap around the card and I used the Pink to make a quick flower. I was so inspired by Barb Schrams Flower Post the other day I HAD to try. I just kept folding over the *peak* onto the next one, stitching each in place as I folded. It only took a couple minutes and I had a flower! FUN!!! I ran 1/4″ Silk Ribbon through the button holes to tie a little bow. Had to thread the ribbon in a needle to do this.
