A Shabby, Thrifty Blog Hop!

Today a few of the Stamp Simply DT Girls and I decided to just have some fun.  We LOVE the challenges posted over at The Shabby Tea Room, and today’s challenge was no exception.  The inspiration photo is FAB, plus The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is the prize sponsor this week at The Shabby Tea Room, so we thought we’d show you some FUN projects using supplies carried in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.   Let’s start with the challenge:

You can read about The Polka Dot Tea Party here, but basically it is to use dots and/or a tea party theme and this is the inspiration photo provided — TOTALLY FUN!!!  What GREAT inspiration!!!  Here’s the card I created for this challenge:

shabby-tea-dots-480-388.jpg

I chose the pink and ivory dotted paper from Ducks in a Row by October Afternoon and HAD to use that pretty cup and saucer from Just a Little Caffeine by JustRite.  Cardstock used is SU Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla.  I used my Petite Circle Nesties on the focal image.  I topped off focal image with a Pink 100% Silk Ribbon Bow made on the Bow Easy.

To add to the vintage shabbiness I chose to use my Sheer Woven Rosettes along the bottom border.  They are made of sheer ribbon, but as I wanted them to show up a deeper, richer pink, I cut a strip of the Pink Pirouette cardstock to back my ribbon.  I then sewed my Sheer Woven Rosettes onto the cardstock strip at the machine.  I got the deeper color I wanted and it was now very easy to attach the paper-backed Rosettes to my card front.  I then added a Kaiser Pearl to each rose center.

All items available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store – email me at [email protected] to order.

Now be sure to take a look at what a few other of the Stamp Simply DT Girls have come up with — fun projects, for sure:

Thanks much for stopping in.  I have a super busy week ahead.  Our youngest graduates on Friday and we are having his graduation open house on Sunday, so MUCH on the agenda this week — BUT, there IS time for a FUN Catalog Hop tomorrow — so what’s a Catalog Hop?  Just check back in tomorrow to see!  You won’t be disappointed!!!

And for a quick update on my Dad — he is doing well, just in *wait* mode yet — still confined to the bed with his feet elevated.  Again this Thursday he will see the surgeon to determine how the partially amputated foot is doing.  We are praying for a good report and ask for your continued prayers.  His spirits remain good and the thing that really has him happy is that he was granted approval to come to our graduation open house this coming Sunday.  A wheel chair van w/driver have been rented for the day so he gets to come!!!  We are all rejoicing over that!!! And he continues to enjoy the cards many of you are sending — he tells everyone about the cards he is getting from total strangers.  He has been so blessed by your generosity.  Truly a day brightener for him — thank you SO much!!!  If anyone cares to send a card, here’s his  name/address again:

Roy Peltoniemi, PO Box 317, Dollar Bay, MI  49922.

Thanks for stopping in!  Have a great week everyone!

Fabulous ribbon flowers, Sharon! Wow! SO glad to hear your dad gets to come to the grad celebration. That in itself will be some of the best medicine he could ever get – not only to be proud of a grandson but to be surrounded by the family he loves and who loves him. Does he accept cyber hugs – if so, here’s one from me (((hug))), and here’s one for you too (((hug))).
