A Proper Gentlemen’s Birthday

Yes, one of the most proper of gentlemen in our family is having a birthday soon, so I made this Gift Card holder to send him — our oldest son!  It uses paper from Graphic 45’s A Proper Gentlemen, a truly proper paper for a true gentlemen.  Take a look:

This was quick and easy and I have a passion for this simple style Gift Card Holder. I think it looks GREAT paired up with these tie-type prints for a masculine card.  The vintage automobiles were cut from a sheet in the A Proper Gentlemen pad, and my birthday sentiment is from an older JustRite set, but I thought it worked perfectly here.  There’s certainly no need to forget old stamps!  This sentiment is one of many birthday sentiments included in JustRite’s Birthday Wishes, made for use on the 2 3/8″ Stamper.  (Yes, I have some in stock — I carry the entire JustRite line. And if you are interested, here’s a FUN and VERY girlie card I made with a different stamp from the same set a few years back.)  Today’s gift card is a bit larger, about A6 sized, and measurements will follow.

Here’s a quick peek at the inside.  A perfect pocket for a gift card, a check or some cash.  The pocket is adhered into place with Scor-Tape.  The card is held closed with a Velcro Dot — they still remain my favorite closure for gift cards (inexpensive, available in a few colors and they work ALL the time, repeatedly).

The A Proper Gentlemen paper is available individually by the 8×8 Pad, or as a KIT I’ve put together which includes many coordinating ribbons.  All links will follow.

OK, here’s the measurements for this card.  It fits into the envelopes I pick up at Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart labels them as Invitation Envelopes.  They hold this size card and/or a 4 x 6 photo.    I also have A6 sized  CLEAR BOXES to hold this size — GREAT for bulky cards (both for storage/protection at home, for gift presentation, or for mailing).

  • Cut paper 9.75 x 6.25″.
  • Score 2″ in from one edge to form pocket.
  • Score 3.25″ in from opposing edge to form front flap.
  • Once folded, the finished size is 4.5 x 6.25″.
  • Decorate away!

Using a score tool makes creating this type of project so fun and easy.  I do carry both the Scor-It and Scor-Pal boards in both sizes.

To order from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, just email me at [email protected] with your list and your state/zip OR country.  I’ll get back to you with an invoice.
