Christmas Simplicity with Penny Black

Published by at 9 47 am under Uncategorized

Let me start by addressing the fact that my blog looks different, rather plain actually. The powers that be behind the scenes who control the workings of my blog and many others made some changes again, resulting in a bit of a messed up blog header, so for now I just deleted the photo.  When I get more time I’ll fiddle with it and see if I can get a picture back up there, but for now it’ll have to wait.  I do enjoy the wider format I am seeing – smaller margins — that pleases me!

OK, now on to my project for today.  YES, my Adornment stamps by Penny Black have arrived, and I did get a couple others as well in a similar style.  This style of stamp is truly something I LOVE — it makes for quick easy stamping using just black ink or perhaps VersaMark and embossing powder.  Add a few sparkly rhinestones and I’m a happy camper!

All items to create the cards below are in stock.  Links will show at the end of this post.  Email me at [email protected] to order, with your zip code or country.

The Christmas tree stamp is Starlit by Penny Black – $10.95

The Merry Christmas stamp is Merry Christmas 2 by Rubber Soul/Wordsworth – $7.50

1/2″ Red Wrinkled Ribbon$2.50 for a 5 yard bundle or  $12.95 for a 50 yard spool

Prima Fairytale Roses in French White – $3.99

Kaiser Rhinestones in Red – $2.00 for a pack of 100

Although I used this stamp today for a Christmas card, I can see this stamp easily creating cards for autumn, or cards with a masculine theme and sympathy cards as well.  A good all-around tree image.

The tree stamp is Snow Dust by Penny Black – $11.50

The sentiment stamp is from Christmas Nested Sentiments by JustRite – $14.95ALL Christmas sets by Just Rite in the original line (not CLING) are on sale through November for 25% off — so this set is now $11.21.  It requires use of the Clear Rectangle Stampers, sold in a set of 2 sizes for $23.95Refer to this post for a better visual and description of how these stamps work.

1/2″ White Wrinkled Ribbon$2.50 for a 5 yard bundle or or $12.95 for a 50 yard spool

Kaiser Rhinestones in Ice Blue – $2.00 for a pack of 100

Kaiser Pearls in Black – $2.00 for a pack of 50

The Bow Easy was used to make this bow –  $6.00

I posted this card a couple weeks ago, but will repost today since these stamps just arrived and I know many of you have been waiting for them.

The stamp is Adornment by Penny Black – $10.95 (stamped in Versa Mark and silver embossed)

White layers edged in silver using a Krylon Leafing Pen in Silver$7.25.  Sorry, I’m sold out of the gold and all other colors, but I do have the Silver left.

Kaiser Rhinestones in Ice Blue – $2.00 for a pack of 100

And here’s a visual of the product used on the trio of cards above.

I note I put a blue 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon spool in the photo rather than the white – sorry – this ribbon comes in 19 colors and 2 widths (1/2″ and 1.5″ – see ribbon link below).

My preferred black ink for stamping crisp, clean images and sentiments is VersaFine Onyx Black and I used it on all cards above.

As much as I love these Penny Black images for quick and easy Christmas cards, I equally love the JustRite Christmas Nested Sentiments.  Those sentiments work equally as well on a card front or as an inside sentiment, giving this set with a large variety of sentiments double duty.

Thank you so much for stopping in today and I’m touched by all of you who wrote wondering where I’ve been, noticing my absence — thank you!  I’ve just been busy, and it seems time to create is always the first thing that gets left undone, so it REALLY felt good to get up early today and make these cards!  Hope you enjoy them!!!  Glad you stopped in and hope to see you later tonight when I post this weeks Stamp Simply Challenge — it’ll be a *yummy* one!!!!  Have a wonderful day!!!  See you real soon.

  23. […] A black and ivory Christmas card, stamped simply! I’m still loving the ease of creating with the Penny Black stamps I recently brought in and this Christmas tree is so fun to decorate with Kaiser Rhinestones (light green).  It’s called Starlit and sells for $10.95.  You can see the other similarly styled Penny Black stamps on this post. Birth Defects caused by zoloft are nothing to laugh at, a co-workers SISTER actually suffered through this with her 2nd child. I’m glad she was able to find good legal representation and get some money to help with the hospital bills etc.
