Stamp Simply #167 – Black Friday

Published by at 6 49 pm under Uncategorized

Black Friday — Well, I guess that’s what they call today (Friday). Yes, here in the US it is the day after Thanksgiving when the Christmas shopping season steps into full gear and all retailers hope to get their books from the red into the black!  So taking our inspiration from that — today we will use Black in our creations.  Use black as one of your feature colors or merely as an accent, use a black ribbon or other embellishment — whatever works for you.  I love black accents on cards and can’t wait to see what you’ll create!

Anyone is welcome and invited to play!  SCS Keyword is ssnotime167  for those who upload at SCS.  There is no time limit. You can play this challenge anytime at all.  The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!!

And if YOU play along, be sure to link to Mr. Linky below so we can easily find you.  Please link the direct post, not your blog, for ease in finding the proper creation!

And here’s my project for today:

A black and ivory Christmas card, stamped simply! I’m still loving the ease of creating with the Penny Black stamps I recently brought in and this Christmas tree is so fun to decorate with Kaiser Rhinestones (light green).  It’s called Starlit and sells for $10.95You can see the other similarly styled Penny Black stamps on this post.

The sentiment is Merry Christmas TWO by Wordsworth for $7.50All Wordsworth stamps in stock can be seen on this post.  The ink used is VersaFine Onyx Black, my favorite for crisp, clear images and sentiments.

The paper I used today is from a new Kaisercraft 6×6 pad that is SO elegant, called After 5.  This sheet has black flocking and is just so rich and lush!  I’ve paired it up with some Black 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon and a Prima Fairytale Rose in French White.  And that about does it for this card!  Simple, but pretty and sparkly!

With the Prima Fairytale Rose I’d give this card in the A2 sized Clear Box that I like to use for cards with more dimension.  They make great presentation, plus they can be used as mailers.  The boxes in A2 and A6 sizes can be seen on links below.
