Kaisercraft English Rose KIT Vintage Valentine

Published by at 2 13 pm under Uncategorized

Today I made a  no stamp vintage Valentine that is meant to be personalized in handwriting by the giver on three small Love Notes enclosed.  When I got Kaisercraft’s English Rose paper I just loved it’s vintage charm and immediately knew it had to be made into a KIT.  With it’s soft pinks, greens and ivories, paired with silk and lace, it makes a perfect vintage Valentine.

I made this vintage Valentine just like I make my gift card holders.  Only rather than tucking a gift card or cash inside, I’ve made 3 small Love Notes to tuck inside for a totally personal Valentine for your true love!  Using a 1/2 sheet of cardstock (5.5 x 8.5) score at 2 and 6.  The 2″ flap is the pocket and the larger flap is the top/front.

Lots of prettiness here!  The lacy scalloped pink border was hand cut from a a sheet of borders included in the English Rose pad.  I threaded my 1/8″ Silk through the center of the 5/8″ Lace.  The Silk Bow was made on the Bow Easy, and the Prima Fairytale Roses are glued on with some Satin String Leaves tucked underneath before gluing.  I’m using Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue.  It squirts out of the bottle SO easy and is super cheap in stores such as Wal-Mart.  It holds super tight  — can’t ask for more from a glue.  I use Scor Tape in 1/4″ to secure the pocket flap, and Scor Tape in 1/8″ is placed under my lace in spots to hold it from slipping.

And these are the trio of little Love Notes tucked into the pocket on the inside.  What fun to hand write little messages on them!  You could also easily tuck in some theater or dinner tickets as well.  My preferred way to secure these type of holders closed is with Velcro Dots.  They work repeatedly without fail and are inexpensive.

Here’s a better view of the Love Notes. These little tags are also included in the English Rose Pad— there are several sheets of them that punch out.  All I did was use leftover pieces of ribbon, lace and leaves to dress up the tops and added a bit of bling. Fun to make!

And here’s the Stamp Simply Kaisercraft English Rose KIT.
