Gatefold Pocket Valentine

Today I have the template for the gatefold pocket valentine I last posted plus I have another card to show you done with the same template.  It’s super easy and only takes a minute to cut and score.

Same card as last posted, just different paper.  This is Once Upon a Springtime by Graphic 45.  I have this pad available individually or in KIT form, complete with coordinating ribbon, flowers and rhinestones/pearls.  You can see it here — scroll down a bit.

Yesterday’s card in this style was made with Kaisercraft’s After Five Collection.

The card stock is SU Blush Blossom, a perfect match to the Graphic 45 pad as well as to my May Arts Champagne Silk Ribbon.  The bow was made using the Bow Easy. I also used Prima Fairytale Roses in Baby Pink – included in the KIT.  The Satin String Leaves are NOT included in this KIT.  I used JustRite’s Happy Everything Tag Kit for the sentiment – a GREAT kit including 18 mini sentiments to cover all events, a clear stamper and dies – makes it super easy!

Here’s a shot so you can see how the card functions. I’m using Clear Velcro Dots to keep it closed — hard to see the clear dot on the floral paper.  I used my Spellbinders Classic Heart dies.

An opened view.  The completed card is A2 sized, 5.5″ x 4.25″.

My inside sentiment is from JustRite’s Wedding Nested Sentiments used on the Clear Rectangle Stampers.  Although it’s a wedding set, it has a lot of sentiments suitable for any *lovey* occasion!  And that little bow is just a scrap of the 1.25″ wide Silk, knotted in the middle with the tail ends cut at an angle to mimic a bow.  I dressed up the center with Kaiser Pearls.

Here’s a view of the template with cutting and scoring measurement.  Using my full sized Scor-It makes it super quick and easy.

  • Start with a piece of card stock cut 10″ x 7.5″.
  • Score 4 1/8″ from the left edge.
  • Score 1.5″ from the right edge.
  • Turn paper and score 2″ up from bottom.
  • Go to your paper cutter and cut off the 2 sections as shown in photo, leaving the flap to fold up to form the pocket.
  • Using Scor-Tape adhere flap up to form pocket.
  • Adhere a die cut shape to right card flap, using a Velcro dot for a secure closure.

And that will do it!
