And now on to my card — I sure had fun with this one — there is just something about tearing and distressing paper that makes me feel OH so good! LOL!!!
I used many favorite things on this card from paper to stamps to ribbons and flowers! I also turned this paper pad into a KIT for those of you who enjoy purchasing KITS, taking the guesswork out of what will match. See KIT details at end of post. As always, all items in the KIT are also available for purchase individually as well, as linked below.
Paper: Ladies & Gents and Trendsetter 6×6 Pad by Webster’s Pages
Stamp: Signed and Sealed by LaBlanche
Also: Scor-Tape to secure ribbon and Bow Easy to make silk bow
As to the distressing, I just use whatever is within reach. I often use a distressing tool, but I couldn’t find it today, so I used a combination of my fingers, scissor blades and a nail file — anything really works. What I like to do is start by tearing the paper, then ragging up the edges using a distressing tool, scissor blades, nail file, etc. Once the edges are ragged and worn it’s easy to stick your fingernail in between the layers of paper and separate them so you can roll up the little curls in layers if you like. I just fiddle with it, add a few more tears and rolls until I like it and it fits the space I want it to fit.
Flowers: Fairytale Roses by Prima in Teal and French White
Ribbon: All by May Arts – 5/8″ Crochet Lace in Watermelon, 1/8″ Velvet in Turquoise, 1.25″ Silk in Ivory.
When working with papers as beautiful as these, I can’t bear to NOT finish the inside. Simple cuts, nice and easy. I’m not sure what I’ll use this card for yet, so I left the inside blank for now.
And here’s my most recent purchase that I’m so stoked about — 5.5″ SQUARE CLEAR BOXES — these make me incredibly HAPPY! If you hang around here much, you’ll know how much I love my Clear Boxes in general. To now have them in a square shape just pleases me immensely!!! My card is totally protected from the moment it is completed and then presenting it in a Clear Box always evokes a huge WOW!!!! I have a strange suspicion that I’ll be making a lot of square cards in the near future. The box is actually a tad over 5.5″ square so it easily holds a 5.5″ square envelope. Not needing a standard envelope for this card, I made the card the full 5.5″ square and it fit in the box just perfectly!

OK, now on to the KIT I’ve made with this pad.
Stamp Simply Ladies & Gents KIT – click here to purchase full KIT
This pad by Webster’s Pages offers two distinctly different themes — the Ladies & Gents which is beautifully vintage, such as the pages I used on today’s card. The other theme is Trendsetter — a totally modern and trendy version of another era of ladies & gents! Fun paper! In the KIT I’ve included ribbon in colors to coordinate with both themes.
The KIT contains:
1 6×6″ Webster’s Pages Pad – Ladies & Gents and Trendsetter
15 yards of May Arts 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon – 5 yds each Ivory, Brown, Fuchsia
9 yards of May Arts 1.25″ Silk Ribbon – 3 yds each Ivory, Celery, Mauve
2 yards of May Arts 1.5″ Crochet Lace in Brown
4 yards of May Arts 5/8″ Crochet Lace – 2 yds each Ivory, Watermelon
3 yards of May Arts 1/8″ Velvet – 1 yd each Turquoise, Teal, Brown
_____
Suggested add-ons to coordinate with this KIT are:

Prima Angelica Rose Collection – Jewel (great match to Watermelon Lace)

No way!!! Thank you SO much, Sharon! Nothing better than happy mail, and an added bonus when it is stamping related 🙂 Can’t wait to get it and play!!
Feel horrible for your boys having to hay in those temps!! 100 pound bails are not fun to have to toss around. Hopefully there is a cold drink truck that makes runs out to the fields to keep them hydrated and cooled off a bit – yikes.
Enjoy your reunion 🙂 and don’t worry about the numbers because you are as young as you feel and live life – ask my hubby, he believes I still haven’t grown up and have had a perfect excuse in having kids so I can join in with them LOL!
Congratulations to Marisa! What a pretty and fun package to receive!
Gorgeous card Sharon…what a versatile stamp and gorgeous distressing!
Have a great time at your reunion!
