Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Spring Wishes
Welcome! It’s Saturday so that means it’s time for some Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style. Today the design team is thinking about spring — wishing for spring. I know I surely am! So today we have all created projects with some element of spring to them. As I write this I haven’t seen any of their creations yet, and I’m just as anxious as you! So I’ll get started by sharing my creation today.
Just as I was starting my card for today, I got an email that we are having a birthday party after church this Sunday during our weekly coffee fellowship for one of our ladies who is turning 95. WOW! So, of course, my card switched gears a bit and it became a birthday card. I hope she likes it!
This card is the standard larger sizer I’ve been making of late – 6.5″ x 4.75″. I like this size as it fits perfectly into an A6 Clear Box. These boxes protect cards with dimension and larger bows and they make a really great presentation. They are also suitable for mailing. Also, making the card a bit larger like this allows me to get more on it without things looking too cramped. I like the extra room!
The designer paper used is Kaisercraft’s Sweet Nothings 6.5 x 6.5″ pad . It’s so lovely!
The pads by Kaisercraft are always very elegant with a lot of gorgeous detail. All products in stock by Kaisercraft can be seen here.
The cardstock used is SU’s Very Vanilla and Blush Blossom.
The sentiment and frame are from a cling set, Your Special Day Medallion Labels, by JustRite. It provides many very useful sentiments as well as lovely frames.
I used a die made specifically by Spellbinders for JustRite to coordinate with this stamp set, as well as other sets by JustRite. I used the Nested Medallion Labels Dies today, and Nested Oval Medallion Labels Dies also coordinate with this set.
My frame is stamped with Versa Mark onto Blush Blossom card stock. It is then heat embossed using some very old SU Vanilla Embossing Powder. I’m not sure if it’s even made any more, but it worked well here today. I do have heat guns available.
The bird with the little envelope is one of 52 die cuts included in the Sweet Nothings Collectables pack. I used 3D Foam Squares to elevate both the bird and the sentiment.
The roses are Fairytale Roses by Prima, from the Coral package.
This lace is one of my favorite pieces ever. The color is just so beautiful — it goes perfectly with the Champagne Silk ribbon and SU’s Blush Blossom card stock. It is included in one of the Webster’s Pages Trim Cards called Hollywood. Unfortunately, I don’t have too many left and I can’t get this lace any more. Oh, how I wish I could! It is shown farther down.
Webster’s Pages Trim Cards are filled with all sorts of ribbon and lace goodness that can be used for so many projects beyond the pads they were intended to match. Collecting their Trim Cards is a wonderful and easy way to add a lot of variety to your ribbon and lace stash.
My Champagne Silk bow was made on the Bigger Bow Easy. I made it larger than I usually do as I wanted it to be a little “floppy and flighty” in keeping with a bird flying. I used the 5″ legs on the Bigger Bow Easy, giving me a bow just under 5″ once removed and fluffed up.
Here’s the card inside, just for a little interest and it’s a great way to use up leftover pieces from the sheets used for the card front.
And here’s a shot of the Webster’s Trim Card I used today — this one is called Hollywood. It contains six pieces of ribbon/lace at 1 yard each. As I said above, collecting these Trim Cards is a great way to add a lot of beautiful variety to your ribbon stash. You get 1 yard each of all 6 trims shown. The colors seem to be off a bit on my monitor. The lace on the lower left is the peachy/champagne lace I used today. The ruffles on the lower right are olive green satin. The other colors seem to be more true — from left, black sheer, teal velvet, silver chain, lavender with center band.
