Ribbon Inspiration – Ribbon Trim Cards

Deb and I both have projects to share with you today. We’ve been playing with all the fabulous trims that are available that come on cards.  You know — you buy a package of assorted trim and get about 1 yard of each.  That’s what we’ve pulled out for todays projects.  Purchasing trim cards is a GREAT way to add to your collection of fun and unique trims.  And it is amazing just how FAR a trim card will go.  They stretch a LOT farther than one would think.  In fact, I don’t believe I have EVER completely used every piece of trim in any package I’ve opened!  (I guess maybe I should just create more — LOL!)

Anyway, here’s my project for today:

I made a clean and simple card trio where the trim serves as a focal point.  Easy peasy!

My cards are a standard 4.25 x 5.5.  I covered the top 4.25″ of the card with designer paper, applied the trim with Scor Tape, and added my focal sentiment.  Done!  Truly a quick project.  And I’m packaging them up for a little gift — that photo is down futher.

Let’s do the math here.  If you get 1 yard of each trim in the package, then you’ll get 8 cards like the ones above out of each piece of trim.  If you get 6 pieces of trim per package, then you’ll get enough trim to make 48 cards like I’ve shown.  That’s a LOT of cards.  The trim cards are a GREAT value and so nice to have on hand!

All paper I used today is from a 6×6 pad by Webster’s Pages  – Sunday Picnic/Everyday Poetry.

All trim I used today is from the Sunday Picnic Trim Card.

All coordinates to the Sunday Picnic/Everyday Poetry Collection can be seen here.

My focal image sentiments today were stamped with a set by Becca Feeken — the new line just being released by JustRite –  the Amazing Paper Grace JustRite Papercraft Stamp Collection.

The set used today is a clear set called Just The Right Words.  The set has two basic sentiment starters and TONS of words to fill in the blanks or the words can be used separately as well.  Talk about versatility to a sentiment set!

Last evening I posted all three of what I call the “Becca Sets” — if you missed that post, you can see them all in large view here.

My sentiments were stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and cut/matted with Square Nesties, the upper layer elevated with 3D Foam Squares.  A single Kaisercraft Rhinestone adds just a touch of sparkle!

If you like the pom pom trim on this card – Prima also makes it – available in several colors.

And here is my card trio all boxed up and ready to go in an A2 Clear Box.  3 white envelopes are enclosed as well.

And that does it — quick and easy.
