CAS Notecard Set with Backgrounds – by Deb Saaranen
Today Deb has a project to share that is totally CAS and I LOVE it! I know you will, too! Deb created a set of 4 coordinated note cards, each using a different background stamp by JustRite. AND the good thing is, these background stamps remain on sale through MONDAY! Take a look at Deb’s notecard set:
These are two of the four cards in Deb’s set – aren’t they fun! White embossed onto a kraft color cardstock.
You can find the full post with all cards and more detail on Deb’s blog.
The background stamps used on these 2 cards are:
JustRite Background Stamps: Chevron Stripe and Lattice
And these are the other two cards. I LOVE this set!
The background stamps used on these two cards are:
JustRite Background Stamps: Elegant Fronds and Fleur de Lis
Sentiments for all 4 cards are from JustRite’s Clear Set: Grand Sentiments
Ribbon: 5/8″ Twill – White
Miscellaneous: VersaFine Onyx Black Ink, VersaMark Ink, Super Fine Embossing Powder – White, Heat Gun
For the butterfly embellishment, Deb used a punch she had on hand. We have 4 different Spellbinders Dies in stock that contain pretty butterflies suitable for a card embellishment just like Deb created today — AND THEY ARE ALL REDUCED! Find the BUTTERFLY DIES here.
Not shown here, but when Deb completed her set of cards, she encased them in an A2 Clear Box for storage and for beautiful presentation for gifting.
Check Deb’s blog for that photo!
And since the focus of today’s post is the use of background stamps, I pulled a few cards from Deb’s archives that I thought made wonderful use of background stamps.
Deb used the Chevron background stamp on this card. I love the more tone on tone effect she went for here.
You can find the original post on Deb’s blog here.
Deb used:
JustRite Stamps: Chevron Stripe Background, Seashell Bay Labels Twenty-two (RETIRING – on sale!)
Spellbinders Die: Labels Twenty-two (also reduced!)
Ribbon: May Arts Burlap String – Natural
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
I wanted to show you this card as Deb combined several backgrounds to create a great, very textural look to this card. She used 2 background stamps, along with crimped paper and a gingham ribbon — love the look. Lots of interest, but in these colors, very suitable for either sex.
You can find the original post on Deb’s blog here.
Deb used:
JustRite Background Stamps: Harlequin and Fleur de Lis
LaBlanche Stamp for focal image. The stamp used is no longer available, but ALL LaBlanche stamps in stock can be seen here.
Ribbon: May Arts 7/8″ Gingham Ribbon – Brown, Burlap String – Natural
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
This is another example making GREAT use of a background stamp. It’s very subtle, but can you see how Deb stamped the Harlequin background stamp, tone on tone, onto a sheet of designer paper with tiny dots? Great look!
You can find the original post on Deb’s blog here.
Deb used:
JustRite Background Stamp: Harlequin
LaBlanche Stamp: Two Rabbits
Spellbinders/JustRite co-branded die set: Nested Oval Medallions (also reduced!)
May Arts Ribbon: 3/8′ Velvet (Parrot Green) and Burlap String (Natural)
Buttons: Bo Bunny Welcome Home Buttons (on sale)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
