Today is my Dad’s Funeral

Published by at 6 41 am under Announcements

My father passed away rather unexpectedly early Thursday morning, two days after turning 82.  It came as a great shock in some ways, but in other ways, I guess not.  It’s just we didn’t expect it quite then.  I guess no one ever does.  Some of you who have been longtime faithful readers here will recall the series of events he went through several years back involving a multitude of problems, mostly heart, kidney and colon related.   Although most of those problems were not able to be fixed, they were managed fairly well with meds.  His last two years have really been quite good.  He’d been exercising 3 times a week at the gym, had an informal “job”, and was busy on the computer Skyping and playing games with friends.  We actually consider the last 5 or so years to be total bonus years, considering his history. God is good and we are so thankful to have had him for so long.

Photo taken on his 82nd birthday, 2 days before he passed away.

We love you Dad and know you are now free of all your problems.

We’ll see you again someday.

Rest in peace.
