The 12 Days of a Clean and Simple Christmas – #1

Welcome!  Once again we are presenting you with The 12 Days of a Clean and Simple Christmas, something we always enjoy so much and look forward to with great anticipation!  Knowing that so many of us mass produce cards at Christmas, we submit our designs to you with the hopes that they will inspire you as you decide on what you’ll be creating this holiday season.  We’ll be using new papers and stamps out this year so you can see them in use, which often helps when viewing new product.

Here’s what’s on our agenda, so if you miss something, you’ll know to scroll back to see what you’ve missed.  The Design Team has been very busy creating, so much so that we will be posting twice each day for the next couple weeks.

Our 8 AM EST post will be our usual daily post.  The designers can create anything they like for our morning posts, so you may see Christmas cards, but maybe not!  There are so many other card-giving occasions, we don’t want to forget about them, either!

Our 8 PM EST post will focus on Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas cards.  As you likely know if you’ve hung around here much, our Design Team is FABULOUSLY talented!  Each designer has her own unique style.  That being said, what is Clean and Simple to one designer, may not necessarily be so to the next Designer.  And that’s what makes it fun — we will be seeing what each designer considers CAS to be, while still staying true to her own style.

And I’m up for the first Clean and Simple post today, and I’ve made a trio of cards all using the same paper pad and same stamp set.  These are most definitely CAS, but could so easily be gussied up with some bows and flowers if one were so inclined, but today it is Clean and Simple!

Love the rich tones and classic prints and patterns in this pad.

Paper:  St. Nicholas by Kaisercraft; cardstock is SU Very Vanilla

Stamps:  Grand Christmas Sentiments by JustRite

Dies:  Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles, Square Nesties

Ink:  VersaMark; Super Fine Embossing Powder – Gold; Heat Gun

Ribbon:  1″ Double Faced Satin by May Arts - Burgundy, Brown

Miscellaneous:  Kaisercraft Rhinestones – Lippy Red, Bronze; 3D Foam Squares; Scor Tape

All these gorgeous sentiments are from the same set, all heat embossed in gold.

Just trying to take best advantage of the pretty sheets here.

Scor Tape holds the ribbon in place so it doesn’t slip — I apply it in the area under the sentiment.

This card is 5.5″ square, using a pretty metallic sheet from the pad.

The sheet was so gorgeous, it was best left alone.  There are several different metallic sheets in this pad.

The 2 pieces of paper used on this card were leftovers from the 1st card shown.

Both the first card and this card are 6.25 x 4.5″, made to fit into the invitation sized envelopes I pick up at Wal-Mart.

I used 3 of the stamps on this set today — this WILL be a favorite for this season, I know it already!

Oh, Sharon! These are LOVELY cards. The colors are wonderful and by doing the sentiments in gold embossing takes them up another notch. TFS.
