Your Special Day – by Sharon Johnson

The card I have to share today makes use of a lot of little pretties – lace, satin, flowers, a pin, pearls and rhinestones.  I began this card thinking it would be for a birthday for a friend, but now that it’s done and I’m looking at it, I do wonder if maybe I should save it for a wedding card.  We do have several weddings coming up this summer.  I like to make my wedding cards in the wedding colors.  I wonder what the chances are that one of these upcoming weddings will have pink and black for their colors?  LOL – well, one can hope. And as I do like to just play around with pretty things, this was a fun one to make. Take a look:

See all those pretties!

How did I make this bow?

This is a cheater bow – so quick and easy.  Next time I’ll take pictures of the pieces as I’m working.

You need short pieces of ribbon, length depending on size of bow wanted.

With one piece, make a circular loop – staple through all thicknesses in center.

Repeat, making the next one a bit smaller to nest on top.

Glue onto project some tail pieces, then the larger stapled loop, then nest the smaller stapled loop on top of that.

Bear in mind, this bow has staples in the middle, so it doesn’t work on all applications, but works perfectly when covering the bow center with a lot of flowers.

It’s nice when working with a bit heavier or stiffer ribbon as you don’t have a lumpy knot to contend with.

It’s the easiest and quickest bow you’ll ever make!
