A Vintage Christmas – by Sharon Johnson
I do a simple Make-N-Take Mini Class once a week. I promised the ladies a vintage Christmas card for this week and bearing in mind that these are quick little classes I also needed to make sure that the card was a fairly quick make. And this one is. No die cutting. Just layering on pretty things! Take a look:
The vintage Santa is perfect here.
A burlap poinsettia, some pretty wrinkled sheer and a bit of Venise lace make the statement!
At the actual class I’ll have this card prepped in soft blues and in browns also, using the Frosted paper pad and the same ribbon but in blue and the brown tones (shown below).
The little image was hand cut from the paper pad and stuck into a fun pin holder, a few more leaf pins were added.
My bow was rather large as I wanted it to take center stage on this card – the ribbon is SO gorgeous!
Once done, I felt it was a bit too big, so I zapped it ever so gently with my heat gun (on the outer edges of each loop) to compress it in a bit. You have to be very careful so as not to burn your ribbon, but zapping sheer ribbon with a bit of heat adds to the crinkly, vintage appeal.
And here’s the message I stamped on the inside.
