Our Christmases have quieted down as the years pass. The kids are grown, some gone, and all of our parents have passed away. So it’s just quieter with less to do. We hold the traditions of church on Christmas Eve (a beautiful candlelight service while singing Silent Night) and dinner in a restaurant on Christmas day. Our restaurant dinners started many years ago when my Mom wasn’t able to cook anymore, but still wanted to provide the Christmas dinner. Even though my parents are gone, we still go out. There’s fewer of us, it’s easy, relaxing and enjoyable.

Here’s the little Christmas tag I made using a favorite coffee set from JustRite and a new Christmas paper pad from Wild Rose Studio.
I paper pieced the coffee cup. Hadn’t done that in AGES and it was FUN!!!

You never stop giving. Thank you so much for your generosity. My Christmas has changed so much, no, too much. We have the same issue as you, everyone before us is gone. I still LOVE the music on the radio but, it is getting harder to find the type [Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Harry Simeone Chorale etc.]. Since I am not physically capable of doing anything like decorating or cooking it gets me down a little; however, I still LOVE the season. If it weren’t for folks like you giving me my daily fix I don’t know what condition I would be in, lol. THANK YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

Beautiful beautiful tag! Our holidays have changed because our kids live across the country now. We still celebrate on Christmas day but the real holiday isn’t until January when they both come to visit so… Christmas is in January now… that’s what is different.. thanks so much for being a sponsor!
Firstly thank you for being a sponsor at the CLBH!! now to answer your question. When I was young it seemed all flurries of paper and ribbon super fast, but as I grew it became more family and memories, now that we are grandparents with 2 adorable babies It is still memories, teaching traditions, and I am sure in a few years flurries of paper and ribbons once again!!! Thank you for letting me tell my lil story
My holiday has become different these past few of years, as my children have moved out on their own and Mom is not able to cook for thirty people anymore due to her age. Our large family now does all the cooking for Christmas Eve dinner and I prepare a quite Christmas morning breakfast for my small family and Mom and Dad to enjoy.

Growing up we always had big family/friends Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations. As so many family members and friends are now gone, the holidays have been scaled back.
Beautiful tag and I totally get about as we get older there is less going on for Christmas ourselves we just relax and watch a couple movies and go for a walk and enjoy the chrismtas lights

My children are all grown but two are married and have children of their own, one is engaged and the other is still single. Our Christmases are quite fun and with all the children and definitely not quiet.

Sharon, I always am inspired by your lovely cards and projects and visit often! Our daughters are grown and both live about an hour away. Our dogs are more an anticipated celebration since we don’t have grandkids…cute bandanas, treats, funny sweaters and photos! And we go out to eat after Christmas Eve services at church. Then we usually drive to our mountain condo the week between Christmas and New Years and my husband and daughters like to ski while I stay indoors and make homemade soups and enjoy the scenery from the window!
I don’t celebrate xmas but what we do that day has changed. I used to spend the day with my hubby, just the two of us watching rented movies as everything on TV is xmas. Now we have 3 kids so the movie choices have changed and I have to cook real food but we still enjoy time alone at home. Maybe this year we will go out to a movie!

Our family stopped celebrating when I was little and started giving surprise presents all through the year and found they were MUCH more appreciated. Plus takes the obligation stress off and is easier on the budget. I totally enjoy sneaking over to my parents’ house and hiding some surprises for them to find any ol’ day, but even more so if I know they’ve had a hard day/week. It’s so fun to hear the delight in their voices when they call after finding it!

I relish the time together every Christmas for dinner at my house. This year I have a new game- (saran wrapped tightly in a ball) that I cant wait to spring on everyone! Where you take candy and other little things or goodies and wrap tightly every which way in saran- wrapping the best gift first so it will be the last uncovered! They will be some eye flickers-but they will enjoy it.
