Falling Leaves – by Sharon Johnson
These two cards were used as our Saturday class cards a few weeks back. We had a lot of fun with them. The leaves are Copic colored, the card base is background stamped, and we played with our Distress Oxide Inks for the inset backgrounds. One was smooshed and one was stenciled. And some die cutting and heat embossing finished them off. Here they are:
The wreaths were fun to use as a base for our pretty fall leaves.
Each card uses a different wreath, and both wreaths are included in the same die set.
I LOVE the coloration on these cards.
Both the smooshed background (this card) and the stenciled background (card below) were done on kraft paper. It offers such a warm, mildly glowing end result that I just LOVED!
And that’s the beauty of the Oxide Inks. You can use them on darker paper, still see the colors, and get some gorgeous results!

For both cards we used a single leaf stamp to background stamp the exposed card base edges.
Here we used a woodgrain stencil on kraft to create the realistic looking wood.
Popping up the Copic colored leaves, sentiment and adding some fun enamel dots finish it off.
