Sympathy Trio in Denim Blues – by Sharon Johnson
I took some time yesterday and created three sympathy cards. Two I’m calling masculine and one feminine. They are all made in the beautiful denim blues contained in the Wandering Ivy paper collection from Kaisercraft. WOW! What a lovely paper pad. It’s so pretty and flowery, but still has plenty of sheets that worked well for my masculine cards. Take a look:
This is the trio of cards.
The center card with flowers is, of course, the feminine version.
The other two are more simple and clean, but truly could be used for either a man or woman.
I love to use the 23rd Psalm on sympathy cards. I find it to be so comforting, and hope it offers that same comfort to the recipient.
This version of Psalm 23 is scripted so beautifully I often put it on the card front, but sometimes I use it on the card inside. Either way works. It is contained in our Deepest Sympathy clear stamp set.
This is my feminine version with the flowers.
The Prima Serenade flowers in blue are an absolutely perfect match to Kaisercraft’s Wandering Ivy paper.
Good matches always please me!
Those green leaves peeking out are satin leaves cut from the May Arts Jumbo String Leaves.
This card was made at 6.5 x 4.75″ to fit perfectly into an A6 Clear Box for protection and presentation.

This is the first of the masculine cards.
These are both made at 6.25 x 4.5″ to fit into some invitation envelopes I had on hand.
Even though there are a few subtle florals, I think this works great for a more masculine card.
It’s a pretty quick make!
Here’s the inside – I LOVE the barnwood.
All these papers are from Kaisercraft’s Wandering Ivy.
Matthew 5:4 is from our set called Blessings/Beatitudes 1.
You’ll note the font is the same in both our Deepest Sympathy and the Beatitudes set, so they intermix just beautifully!
This is the 2nd of the cards I’m calling masculine; however, being so white I would definitely use this for either gender.
It’s plain and simple enough to suit the need for a masculine card, yet pretty enough for a lady. I think, anyway.
For accent here there is a strip of 1″ Grosgrain Ribbon with Satin Edge. It’s a lovely ribbon!
