Deb has a fabulous Father’s Day Card for us today. It reminds me of a rugged man, a man’s man, if you will. Perhaps due to the paper choices (a wonderful woodgrain paper we found!) and the buck mount, coupled with the distressing done with ink. I love it! I think it’s a perfect guy card for so many occasions (just swap out the sentiment). Take a look:

We often struggle with masculine cards. I think the trick is to just keep them simple.

Like this card. Simply perfect.

Note the little tab above the buck created with a piece of twill — a perfectly simple touch for a masculine card.

Note the buck. The rock-n-roll stamping technique was used.

He is elevated over an embossed impression left from cutting him out of the base rectangle. I really like the “framing” that the embossing around the edge gives him.

I love the stamp set used as it has so many great verses/sentiments especially suitable for masculine cards.
