Square Monograms by JustRite

I can not even begin to tell you how I have waited for these new monogram stamps by JustRite — to me it’s like a dream come true!!!  I really LOVE the new direction JustRite is taking with its monogram sets.  And today I’m going to share the new 2″ Square Monogram Kit with you.  Here’s the first little gift set I made with it:

tlk-set-480-wm-notime.jpg

Isn’t that square monogram just to die for?  Oh, how I love this set!  Today I altered a box that was used as a table favor at a wedding.  It was filled with candy, but once being emptied I knew I’d have another use for it.  I turned it into a small gift box, something perhaps my son could use for his girlfriend.  She likes pink, so I went with pink even though the box was gold.  The box is merely wrapped in Pink 100% Silk Ribbon and tied.  I intentionally left the ribbon tails a bit long so when the box is opened there is enough ribbon there to easily tie it closed again.  The monogram was so easily made.  I used the new 2″ Square Monogram Kit.  It comes complete with the 2″ Wood Stamper, the Special Occasions Font and 4 Frames.  I can see so many possibilites with this elegant new set!!!  I’ll show it to you a little farther down.

tlk-card-360-455-wm-notime.jpg

Here’s a closer view of the card.  I used the LaCreme DP by DCWV as it had that hint of gold that I thought would tie the card in with the box.  To get it a bit more gold, I DTP’d the edges of the DP panel with Encore Gold Metallic Ink.  I used my standard and most favorite ribbon treatment, explained here, using the Bow Easy.  I cut my Monogram and matting with my Classic Square Nestabilities by Spellbinders and decorated the monogram with Kaiser Pearls.  I used an inexpensive corsage pin on both bows.  The tiny beads are from Wal-Mart or Michaels in the beading sections.

tlk-product-440.jpg

Here’s a photo of the product I actually used today. Since I’ve had them for awhile, they were sent to me without any packaging, but at least you can see the actual product contained in the 2″ Square Monogram Kit.  And actually, these products are available to you individually as well as in kits.  The Kit is the perfect choice for someone who has no font yet.  But if you have font already, then you have the option to purchase the 2″ Square Stamper alone, and you can also purchase a set of 2″ Square Decorative Frames for the 2″ Square Stamper.  There are 6 in that pack, four that come in the Kit plus 2 others.

30% Off JustRite Monogram Kits

Yes, that’s right — The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is offering 30% off the Damask, Curlz and Special Occassions Monogram Kits by JustRite while supplies last!  I think you all know how much I love these sets.  They were what originally drew my attention to JustRite Stampers in the first place and I’ve used them all repeatedly over the years, producing some of my most favorite projects.  I have these kits on hand for immediate shipment.  They are all in boxes, PERFECT for gift giving, so consider your Christmas gift list before ordering.  To order or ask questions just email me at  ssj@up.net, tell me what you’d like, then I’ll bill you via PayPal, and will ship to you upon receipt of payment.  Quick and easy!

Editing on Thursday a.m. — I woke up this a.m. to many, many email questions about the JustRite product.  I’ll answer the common questions coming in at the end of this post as many of you may have the same questions.  So scroll to the bottom to see if your question is answered, and this post may get very long (so sorry), but just hoping this gets the common questions answered most efficiently.  I’m going to edit with answers now, so have patience with me as I’m getting this updated.

But here’s the answer to the #1 question — YES, these kits are ready for you to use.  All you need to add is paper and ink and you can create.  They contain the Wood Stamper, the outside borders and the inside font (alphabet letters).  The Curlz and Special Occasions Kits also have 3 fun centers you can use!

#2 Question — YES, I ship internationally.  Let me know what you want and where you live and I’ll get back to you with shipping costs so you can decide.  My email is ssj@up.net

damask-kit-360.jpg

Was $18.95 - NOW $13.25

The Damask Monogram Kit is my favorite for quick, easy and classy single initial monograms.

The Damask Monogram Kit contains:  1 5/8″ Wood Stamper, Times New Roman 36 Character Font Set in uppercase 95 pt. font, plus bonus flourishes and symbols in a stackable type storage container, 3 interchangeable Damask borders.

k-all-cropped-480-wm-notime.jpg

This gift set of 6 cards and a box was made using the Damask Monogram Set, however, I used Special Occasions Font from the Special Occasions Monogram Set.  Times New Roman Font comes with the Damask Monogram Set, but as with all JustRite product, all fonts are interchangable, expanding your options.  I made this Gift Set last year for the JustRite Blog, and you can read directions to recreate this project here, complete with a tutorial on making the box!

curlz-kit-360.jpg

Was $24.95 - NOW $17.45

The Curlz Monogram Kit is a fun set with a whimsical font that I especially like when creating projects with a light-hearted feel!

The Curlz Monogram Kit contains:  1 5/8″ Wood Stamper, 3 interchangeable Borders, 3 interchangeable Centers, 1 95 pt. Curlz Alphabet Set with Symbols and Flourishes, 2 50 pt. Curlz Alphabet Sets with letters (including extra vowels), numbers and symbols, all in a stackable storage type container.  The centers are:  Happy Birthday to you!, Congrats! You did it! (graduation), and It’s a Party!

mono-100-trio-480-wm-notime.jpg

I created this fun monogrammed trio by once again combining kits. I used the same border again (gosh, think I like that border?) from the Damask Monogram Kit and combined it with Curlz Font from the Curlz Monogram KitYou can read more about how I made this project on my Blog here.  It even tells you how I did this bow treatment.  But this post give you photos of how I do this bow treatment, if you’d like to see.

spec-occ-kit-360.jpg

Was $24.95 - NOW $17.45

The Special Occasions Monogram Kit has an elegant font that I am especially fond of for use on weddings projects or anything a bit more formal - just lovely!

The Special Occasions Kit contains1 5/8″ Wood Stamper, 3 interchangeable Borders, 3 interchangeable Centers, 1 95 pt. Special Occasion Alphabet Set with Symbols and Flourishes, 2 50 pt. Special Occasion Alphabet Sets with letters (including extra vowels), numbers and symbols, all in a stackable storage type container.  The centers are:  Best Wishes, You’re Invited, Cherish.

sab-group-499-x-440-notime.jpg

I created this set for a gift about a year ago and oh yes, the same border again from the Damask Monogram Kit.  Honestly, I had NO idea I was using the same border over and over again — too funny!!!  This time I used the Special Occasions Font from the Special Occasions Monogram KitYou can read this post on my blog for further details and close up photos.

Thank you so much for stopping in today.  And if you do think you’d like some Monogram Kits either for yourself or as a gifts, remember that I have lots of pretty ribbon as well as Kaiser Pearls and Rhinestones to add to your monogrammed projects!   And I do ship internationally as well — in fact, I LOVE to ship to new countries — it’s fun!!!  Feel free to email me for postage quotes at ssj@up.net

Thanks much — hope to see you soon — I’ll post our Stamp Samply Challenge late on Thursday night as usual!!!  Have a GREAT day!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

#1)  YES, the above kits are complete.  Just add paper and ink and you can create!

#2)  YES, I do ship internationally.   Email me your list, your address and I’ll get back to you with a postage price.  My email is ssj@up.net.

#3) YES, you can use the 1 5/8″ Wood Stampers in these Monogram sets with other stamps.  Any stamp set made by JustRite that says it fits the 1 5/8″ Wood Stamper will work with the stampers in these Monogram Kits.  So, YES, A Merry Little Christmas Set, selling for $15.95 is a logical add-on so you can make Christmas cards.  Here it is:

a-merry-little-christmas-308-x-360.jpg

#4)  So, you want to make personalized Christmas cards or tags like these.  What else do you need to buy?

full-tag-230-w-notime.jpgpr-foc-trio-all-250-w-notime.jpg

Tag details can be seen here.  Card trio details can be seen here.

To make either of these projects you need to have:

1) 2″ Wood Stamper with Bonus 15 pt Font and Center - $14.95

2) Holiday  Demi Phrases - $12.95

3) A Merry Little Christmas - $15.95

The above three products are shown in the photo below.

product-focus-trio-product-250-w.jpg

#5) You purchased some Font Sets when JustRite had their huge Font Sale a while back.  Do you still need to purchase a Monogram Kit to make monograms?   No, you don’t — All you need is to have a 1 5/8″ Wood Stamper which can be purchased separately for $8.95, some font (which you have already purchased), and some borders for the finishing touch to the monogram look.  The 3 Damask Borders are available separately for $6.95.  Another option is the From the Desk of/Library of/Kitchen of Borders, also available separately for $6.95.  Here’s a picture of those sets.

borders-damask-and-3-desk-360.jpg

sej-desk-of-268-x-360.jpg

This sample shows the From The Desk of border with a monogram in the center using Times New Roman Front.  Purchasing this set gives more options to any of your monogram projects.  Also, I made this card before I owned any Nestabilities — just so you know, you CAN make monograms if your only cutting option is a paper cutter.  My favortie Nestabilities by Spellbinders have come to be the Petite Circle, Classic Oval and Petite Oval Nestability sets.  I sell them in the FULL sets of 2 ring sets and 2 scalloped sets per package — for a total of 4 sets per package.  I feel this is the best way to purchase them, giving you the most options and the most bang for your buck.  They are $79.99 per package. — photo coming –

candy-trompe-rec-480.jpg

Once again the Blog Candy I have to offer today is compliments of JustRite! Today we are offering a set of the Trompe Script Font (very elegant! - 3 sizes of font per set), and a set of the Harmony Rectangle Stampers (large and small rectangle stamper in a box, as shown). This is one of my favorite font sets for the pretty sets of monogrammed cards that I like to make. I did not use this set on my project today, but you can see it used on this project and this project for the monograms. Again, THANK YOU, JUSTRITE!

To be entered for this Blog Candy drawing, all you need to do is comment below nothing more than that today!!! Nice and simple!!! This post will be closed for Blog Candy entries at 6:00 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008. Shortly thereafter a random winner will be selected by random.org. The winner will be posted both on this thread and at Party Central. OK, now on to my project:

bin-set-supplies-360-smaller.jpg

For my small gift item today I decided to gussy up a package of cards from the $ bin at Michaels. I got the above8 cards and envelopes for $1. With a minimal amount of stamping, some ribbon, rhinestones and a box to present them in, I ended up with a rather nice little gift.

bin-set-480-wm-framed-notime.jpg

Here’s the 8 cards. I know I keep using this same sentiment from the Harmony Classic Circle Stamper III Ensemble, but I just love it and it is SO appropriate for a gift for a friend, so keep using itI will!!! LOL!!! I merely stamped it on white, no border, and cut and embossed with my Petite Circle Nestabilites by Spellbinders. A nice, clean and fresh look! The card is wrapped in a soft 1″ satin ribbon. After mounting the sentiment with Dimensionals, I added some rhinestones and called it done. It took very little time to make 8 of these and I think they make a nice little gift! Anyone can use generic cards like these!!! Please note: There isa sale at JustRite and the set linked and used above is currently at 25% off, until Dec 19th, so check it out! You can read more about the sale here.

bin-set-box-closed-480-wm-notime.jpg

And here’s the box I made to present them in. I used Prismatics Gray by Prism, textured side out, made a tag, wrapped the box with ribbon and hung on my tag! I think it’s pretty classy looking for what started as a $1 item!!!

bin-set-box-open-480-wm-notime.jpg

Here’s how the cards fit in the box. This is my favorite box design that you’ve seen me use a lot lately. I designed this one specifically to fit these cards, which are smaller than an A-2 size.

bin-set-score-480-notime.jpg

Again, a quick and easy job with my Scor-It. I think you can clearly see the measurements on the photo above. I have shown you this box process in photos so many times, I won’t tonight — I was really pressed for time. But if you’ve never seen the process of making this style box, you can view more pictures and directionson this postor this post. And if you are looking for a Scor-It, they are available at both Joan’s Garden and Marco’s Paper. It would make a GREAT Christmas Gift!!!

Dee Jackson - Stampin cuz I Luv 2 - Dee has some BLOG CANDY today!

Sharon Johnson - No Time To Stamp? - Me again, with more BLOG CANDY!

candy-rec-se-480-notime.jpg

The Blog Candy I have to offer you today was once again so very generously donated by the folks at JustRite. Today I have a box of Special Occasions Font (3 sizes per box, plus lots of extra pretty little do-dads!) and a set of Harmony Rectangle Stampers. There are 2 stampers in the box, a large and a small, as shown above. I’ve used the S from the Special Occasions Font in my project today.

To be entered for this Blog Candy drawing, all you need to do is comment below and tell me what you serve for a quick meal during this busy time of year. For me the busiest night, and when I want things to be calm rather than hectic, is Christmas Eve. We go to church and then come home and open gifts.I am always wrapping last minute gifts to bring to friends at church, etc. so I need a quick meal. For many years I’ve been cooking a Stouffer’s Frozen Lasagna on Christmas Eve for our dinner. I really love their Italian Lasagna - great flavor! I serve it with hot garlic bread and a salad, and it makes a great, warm and comforting, quick meal!!! Works for me!!! And now I know I’ll be totally embarrassed by all the wonderful meals you all are probably cooking up!!! LOL!!!

This post will be closed for Blog Candy entries at 6:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008. Shortly thereafter a random winner will be selected by random.org. The winner will be posted both on this thread and at Party Central. OK, now on to my project:

sab-group-480-wm-framed-notime.jpg

I played in Deb’s Challenge today, listed above. This is one more gift set that I needed to get done for a gift. I really love this combination of retired SU colors — Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi with Spring Silhouettes DP. I made 6 simple cards and a box to present them in.

sab-box-480-wm-notime.jpg

This is the box. The ribbon is just wrapped around it and tied. I just made the box top to look like one of the cards. The entire set is somewhat of a repeat of a pink and brown set I did 2 weeks over over at the JustRite blog. In fact, there is a tutorial with photos and measurements there on how to make this box which is sized perfectly to fit A-2 cards and envelopes. Click here to see that tutorial. But quickly, the box base is cut 8 3/8 x 7″ and scored on all 4 sides at 1 1/4″. The box top is cut 8.5″ x 7 1/8″ and scored on all 4 sides at 1 1/4″. Super easy and quick to do when you set the stopper guide on your Scor-It at 1 1/4″.

sab-card-1-480-wm-notime.jpg

I made 2 of this card. It’s my favorite top fold and I’ve rounded the bottom corners on all of these. I find it particularly quick to make cards when I cover the entire card front with DP, rather than make layers/mats. It’s probably not the most efficient use of DP, having to cut it to 4 1/4″, but I love the look and you can’t beat the ease.

sab-card-2-480-wm-notime.jpg

Here’s the next, and there are 2 of these as well. My monograms for this setwere made using the Damask Borders Deluxe Kit, only I switched out the initial. This kit comes with Times New Roman Font, but I wanted to use the bit more *pretty* Special Occasions Font today,so I did! That’s the great thing with the JustRite products — SO interchangeable!!! Most things work together, and you can’t beat that!!! Variety is the spice of life!!!

sab-card-3-480-wm-notime.jpg

And here’s the last of the cards. I made 2 of these as well. To actually stamp my monograms for this set, I did it the easy way. I inked my entire stamp in Baja Breeze ink, THEN with the Baja Breeze ink still on the initial S,I just colored over it with a Garden Green SU marker — quick, easy, no fuss and it worked like a charm!!! I got a 2-colored monogram with the least amount of effort - my kind of stamping!!! I then added some rhinestones to my monograms and mounted them with Dimensionals. OH, they were all cut, matted, framed and embossed with Petite Circle Nestabilities by Spellbinders — gosh, what did we all do before we got our Nesties!!!

If you need some gifts foryour crafty friends, consider a set from JustRite!!! The simple monogram starter kits are a GREAT first introduction to the JustRite products. Just click that link to see them. Everyone just LOVES a monogrammed project, and they are SO easy to use. They come complete with the wooden stamper, borders and alphabets!!! You can’t beat it for a WOW gift at a reasonable price!!! Editing to Add: I just noticed that the Damask Kit, in the older packaging (which is exactly what I used here), is ON SALE for $12.00 — just passing that on — GREAT PRICE!!!

And that wraps it up for another day!!!! Make sure you check out all the samples and entries for Deb’s challenge, linked above. There are sure to be a lot of great things to see and inspire!!! And THANK YOU so much for stopping in again!!! I SO appreciate all your visits. THANK YOU and hope you have a great day!!! Oh, our little bunch of local stamping friends is having our Christmas Party tonight — FUN!!! I’m bringing Chicken Wings — and they are GOOD!!! I did share the receipe here last year, but maybe I will again in the next day or two!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

Our Blog Candy winner is Debbie, and here’s what she had to say:

Debbie S

Your note cards are beautiful. My quick meal is spaghetti and meatballs. I use a prepared sauce, frozen meatballs, and I add some spices for added flavor. Thank you for the chance to win. The JustRite stamps are on my wish list.

Happy Holidays!

Debbie S.

JustRite and Gina K

I have two things to show you today. Here’s a little peek at a portion of my post over at the JustRite Blog – it is Day 4 for me over there — WHEW!!! That’s a busy place and I’m having a hard time keeping up — LOL!!! But what I did over there today is something very near and dear to my heart, a type of project I have long loved — here’s a portion of it:

k-box-480-wm-notime.jpg

And as much as I hate to be a tease, you’ll justhave to head over to the JustRite Blog to see the rest! Hope you do, but in the meantime, I havea Christmas card I’d like to share as well. Take a look:

poinsettia-2-480-wm-notime.jpg

That beautiful poinsettia is in a Gina K set by Melanie Muenchinger called A Year of Flowers. I stamped it three times, colored one image with a variety of red Copics and the other 2 images were colored with a number of green Copics. I then cut them out and layered them to form my poinsettia, highlighting them with Dazzling Diamonds anda rhinestone center. Such a pretty and fun set to play with!!!

The *Poinsettia* on the bottom of the card was done with 2 different JustRite Fonts — Trompe for the capital letter and Brayton for the rest. I used the Harmony Rectangle Stamper with my font sets. This was FUN!!! Can you just imagine all the wonderful floral images we all have, and now withJustRite’s easy-to-use snap in letters — oh how fun it’ll be to come up with all the flower names as we create our cards!!! I can’t wait to use my font sets for similar projects!!!

Stamps: A Year of Flowers by Gina K., Brayton Font and Trompe Font by JustRite, with the Harmony Rectangle Stamper Paper: White, Black Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, red and green Copics Accessories: Red Organdy, Pearls, Rhinestones, Ticket Corner Punch, Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

Thank you so much for looking!!! I really do appreciate it. I know I haven’t been around here much this week, but I’m back to normal real soon!!! Tomorrow we have our usual Friday Stamp Simply Challenge — and it’s a fun one that anyone can play!!! Hope to see you then. Thanks much!!!

A JustRite Note with Box

We attended a beautiful wedding this weekend for our niece and her new DH!!! The weather was just gorgeous, so all was well!!! We have company this week, so although I wanted to play today and get my *fix*, it needed to be quick, really quick. I was so pleased to see the TLC at SCS today was to make a Mini Pizza Box — that’s surely quick — and to go with it I decided to usea fewother sure-fired *quick fixes*!!! And those are a pre-inked stamper by JustRite, some Cuttlebug die cuts, and scored lines for interest using my Scor-It Mini. Here’s my project:

tlc189-just-a-note-480-wm-notime.jpg

The Mini Pizza Box measures 4″ square and you can find the template and directions here. I made the scores on my full sized Scor-It and was done in a jiffy — fun box!!! To decorate the box top and make the cards, I just stamped the *Just a Note* sentiment on the bottom using one of my 2 X Stampersby JustRite. As you can see in the photo, I stamped the sentiment on the box top and the card front, while I used the musical notes on the other side of the 2 X Stamperfor the inside of the card, which is opened and on the bottom of the photo. I then usedmy Scor-ItMini toscore 6 lines, spaced 1/4″ apart each, across the panel to mimic music (I know, I put one too many lines - LOL), and then I used my musical notes Cuttlebug dies to make my notes. I ran them through my little Xyron X which made is so easy to adhere them. I decorated around my box with 2 scraps of unknown ribbon and I was done!!! This box will easily hold at least 8 of these little notecards. My cards are cut 3.75″ square for a perfect fit inside the box!!! Fun project.

I’ll just add one thing about my 2 X stampers– I have many of them and when I got them, I thought I would be using them for my Sunday School class (how handy being pre-inked) and to make other little projects for our church/ladies group, etc. In all honesty, I didn’t think beyond that to realize how QUICK and FUN they are to use for all my normal stamping projects. I was extremely impressed with the perfect impression received every time I stamped, and I love that there is a little coordinating image to go along with each sentiment — how PERFECT for quick, little projects!!! Gift Box and Ornament

I made a project today that I am totally happy with — quick, simple, clean, fresh and something I can use for a gift!!! I was cruising Tammy’s blog earlier today, saw an adorable box/bag type thing, clicked the link and found a fabulous site I had never been at before — the 3-D Design Challenge Blog. How fun!!! A challenge was issued to create a One Sheet Box and a printable template was provided. This was one of those times when I just had to drop everything else and do it!!! I LOVE this little box — SO quick and easy — and just adorable!!! I know I’ll be making a lot more of these. I added a rounded top to my box, but it’s the same template, and then I made an ornament to coordinate with and put in the box. Here they are:

The box is made using a full 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. I followed the instructions exactly, except I did NOT score those diagonal lines for the corner folds. It was much easier to just fold it in my hand, easily lining it up, then crease that inside fold with my fingers. I then used tape to secure all those folds on the inside of the box (between the layers of paper). Adorable box!!! (Editing: I used a thinner DP that was 1 sided with a white back. The thinner DP allowed for crisp folds in the corners.) To decorate the box I decided I would make a large snowflake for the topto round it off and give it some extra height and stability. Once the snowflake was made, I thought it looked like an ornament so, there you go — a box AND a gift!!! Here’s how I made the snowflakes:

ice-crystal-pieces-420-notime.jpg

  • Using the Cuttlebug Ice Crystal die on about a 4″ square of white c/s, run it through and cut. Press out the snowflake and save for another project. We are going to use the negative part for this project. (Editing: I ordered this die from Jacksonbelle Embellisments, and to my surpise when it came there is ALSO a folder, same design, in the pacakge!!)

  • Using a Circle Nestability, center it over the negative snowflake, cut and emboss.

  • Using SU Bashful Blue c/s, apply double sided tape to one side, and using the same Circle Nestieas above to cut the snowflake, cut out the circle. It will have tape on one side. Those of you with Xyron’s large enough, could just run these through the Xyron instead. I just don’t have one.

  • Now take your circle negative snowflake and adhere it to the Bashful Bluecircle above, on the sticky side. The sticky tape will be exposed in the snowflake opening. Sprinkle with fine glitter. This technique is called a Glitter Window, and instructions can be seen on this SCS tutorial.

  • Using Prism Iced Cobalt, cut a Circle with the Nestability Die just a bit larger. This Iced Cobalt circle serves to frame the snowflake. When adhering to the box, the snowflake is on the front of the box front, while the Iced Colbalt frame is on the back of the box front, so the box appears finished both inside and out. Make 2 of these — one for both the front and back of the box. Here’s a good look at the box:

I just added a little tag with ribbon trim. The tag was cut and embossed on the Spellbinders die called Tag 5. It cuts 5 tags at a time — I like it a lot. These tags are a bit bigger than the other sets of Spellbinders tags I have, so it allows for sentiments a bit larger.

To make the ornament I made 2 more of the snowflakes and sandwiched the Iced Cobalt Circle in between them, punched a hole with the Cropadile punch (gosh that thing works great for going through so many layers!), then ran my ribbon through the hole. Done!!!

  • Stamps: Star Studded Season by SU

  • Paper: PTI White, SU Bashful Blue, Prism Iced Cobalt, very old DCWV Spring Stack DP

  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black

  • Accessories: Cuttlebug and Ice Crystal Die, Petite Circle Nesabilities and Tag 5 by Spellbinders, Double Sided Tape or Xyron, SU Dazzling Diamonds, Cropadile, SU Ribbon, Dimensionals

That’s it for this project! I’m sure you’d LOVE this box, too — give it a try. Once you do it once and figure out the corner thing, it’ll go together in just a minute or two — truly that simple!!!

Thanks for stopping in!!! Are you getting tired of the party yet — LOL!!! We’re about 1/2 way through!!!

JustRite $ Bin Gift Set

This evening I went down to my stamp room to create a card for the Sketch Challenge at SCS, and before I knew what happened I had this little gift set about done. Here it is:

sc-set-all-520-wm-notime.jpg

The card I did for the Sketch Challenge is on the upper right. This set was so quick, easy and cheap to make — it truly was amazing — LOL!!! All items are from the $ Bin at Michaels. The black and white cards were in a pack of 8, with envelopes, for $1, and the journal was also $1. I made the little pouch that the gift set of cards is in, and I’ll show you how below.

sc-set-card-480-wm-notime.jpg

Above is the card I did for the Sketch Challenge. This is the card to present to the recipient of this gift along with all the items. Can you see how the purchased card base is shorter in front and the scalloped circle main image is hanging over? I like that feature! These cards are a bit smaller than normal, at 5 x 3.75″. The circle image is stamped using the Harmony Classic Circle III Stamp Ensemble. This is the new 3.25″ round wooden stamper that will be available real soon — but it IS AVAILABLE to preoder now at the JustRite site. I stamped it in black ink. I then masked all but the center sentiment and then stamped the center sentimentin red on a scrap of paper, then cut and embossed it using the Double Ended Tag die by Spellbinders. Myimage was cut, embossed, matted in black and then framed with a red scallop, all using the Petite Circle Nestabilities by Spellbinders. I wrapped the card with red ribbon before adhering the sentiment circle.

sc-set-journal-480-wm-notime.jpg

And here’s the journal to coordinate. And this just couldn’t be any simpler! The white Journal was already on it, so I wanted to use it as is. I just added a monogram above it. This monogram was made using the Damask Monogram Stamper Kitand the Times New Roman font that comes with the kit. I used the same monogram on all of the gift cards in the pouch. Now this is the original round wooden stamper that so many of you already have. And what really pleases me is that this Damask border coordinates so well with the border I used on the 3.25″ stamper above, making it very easy to incorporate both stampers on the same project. The red ribbon is actually a book mark. It runs down the length of the inside back cover of the book, where is it adhered for the entire length with red sticky strip. It can be placed anywhere in the Journal to mark your place!

I made the little pouch to hold the set of 4 monogrammed cards and 4 envelopes. Now, granted, this is not the fanciest of pouches or card holders, but it’ll do the trick in a pinch for a quick little gift. It is merely made from 2 of the cards that were in the set of 8. I’ll try to show you:

sc-set-pouch-const-420-wm-notime.jpg

Using 2 sided tape, I securely attached 2 card together to a length I thought would be adequate. I then took red ribbon and ran it around the card covering the seam that was showing on the outside of the card. There is red sticky strip holding the ribbon on in the card inside. The seam you are seeing on the right is not on the outside, only on the inside, so it doesn’t matter. Then I adhered more red sticky strip to the ends to hold it closed and together.

sc-set-pouch-done-420-wm-notime.jpg

This is what the pouch looks like on the outside when complete. This pouch easily holds 4 of the gift cards I made using the monogram and 4 envelopes. I forgot to photo the gift cards separately, but I think you can see them in the pouch and in the first photo.

sc-set-pouch-full-480-wm-notime.jpg

And here we have all 4 gift cards plus the 4 envelopes in the pouch. Easy peasy as they say!!!

Thank you all so much for stopping in today!!! I hope you can all come back tomorrow to join in the festivities of the week to come in celebration of my 1 yr Blog Anniversary. A bit of detail is included in the post prior to this — just scroll down!!! Hope you are all having a wonderful week!!! Thanks so much — see you soon!!!!

First Fruits Blessings

I got to play with new stamps today - how fun!!! And for as long as I’ve been stamping I’ve only had odds and ends of stamps for autumn, never a full coordinatedset. The moment I saw Papertrey’s new fall set, First Fruits, I knew it was just what I was wishing for — beautiful, yet simple, images along with a fabulous combination of words to take me through the fall and Thanksgiving season. I don’t have the designer paper that so beautifully coordinates with this set, but I found a small Fall Harvest pad by K & Co. in Michaels that I think works well. Here’s my first project with First Fruits:

1st-fr-blessings-set-500-wm-notime.jpg

I made a simple card using Petite Oval Nestabilities to frame the sheaf of grain as well asalabel attached to a band running around the bottle of Roasted Red Pepper Vinaigrette. I also stamped an envelope to match as well as the inside of the card.

1st-fr-blessings-dressing-420-189-wm-notime.jpg1st-fr-blessings-card-420-335-wm-notime.jpg

This really was quite the easy project. The Blessings sentiment is cut and embossed using a label die, also by Spellbinders. My ribbon is an old scrap, and my original plan was to make more pieces to this little gift, but I ran out of this ribbon, sothis is it!!! I’m sure I’ll be making many more little gift type items with this set, so I’ll be sure I have enough ribbon next time before I start — LOL!!!

  • Stamps: First Fruits by Papertrey Ink
  • Paper: SU Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Morning Marigold, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive. Fall Harvest Mat Pad by K & Co.
  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black, Morning Marigold, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive.
  • Accessories: Ribbon, Petite Circle, Petite Oval and Labels Trio all by Spellbinders, Mounting Tape, Glue Dots.

And today is Monday, so you know what THAT means — it’s the Every Monday Sale over at Joan’s Garden — check it out — I think she has Scor-It’s this week — both full sized and Mini!!!! I’ll have to pop on over and see what else she has, too!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in!!! I do so appreciate it!!! Hope you enjoy your week –it sounds like good weather for us — and today it IS beautiful!!! Hope to see you soon — thank you so much!!!
