No Internet Service

Published by notimetostamp under Uncategorized

Hi! This is Deb! Sharon asked me to open her blog and let you all know that she has had no internet service since late Friday afternoon. She has no idea when she will be back up, this being the weekend.

Those who have ordered via email from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, be rest assured that she will contact you as soon as she has service.

Thank you!

2Sketches4You Fun Monogram

This week JustRite Stampers is sponsoring the 2Sketches4You Challenge with a fabulous, HUGE prize giveaway.  You can read all about it at the 2Sketches 4You Blog.  I wanted to play along as it was a FUN sketch, and I decided I wanted to make a monogram card, but vary my style a bit.  I LOVE to do monogram projects, and when I do they typically lend themselves to more traditional or elegant styles, as in the project here.  Well, today took a different turn and it’s a fun-loving monogram for the younger set:

both-480-wm-notime.jpg

As you can see I also made an envelope to match, all using an older set of Crate Paper, Carnival I believe — I better go check on that to be sure.  This was rather easy because I used punchouts from the Crate Paper pack.

card-480-wm-notime.jpg

This is a standard 5.5 x 4.25″ card, but I cut my base card only 3.75″ wide so that I’d have room to adhere on my scalloped edges that were punchouts from the Crate paper.  They stick out 1/4″ on each side beyond the card edge.  My fun ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store by May Arts (links at end of post).

I used the Curlz Monogram Kit for my monogram, and I’m very pleased to tell you all that I am now carrying the full line of JustRite Monogram Kits in the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, Page 3.  I love them, use them often and thought they’d be a great addition!  The Curlz font included in the Curlz Kit is so whimsical, I just love it with this Crate Paper — very light hearted and fun!  The Monogram is Nestie cut, the scallop behind it is a SU Scallop Punch, the pink/blue layer behind that is a Crate punchout and the bottom scallop layer is a Nestie cut.  Buttons are attached with the 100% Jute String.

And here’s my coordinating envelope made in a few minutes with the Envelope-It by Scor-It.  Again, for a step-by-step how-to,  read this post. And no, I would not mail this envelope.  It is something I would hand deliver to a birthday party, or some such event.  However, minus the ribbon and popped up monogram, it is most definitely a mailable envelope!

The Incredible Edible Egg! Since Easter is fast approaching, I thought we would have some fun this week and take a look at the traditional Easter Egg. Let’s try to contain eggs in our creations this week– and you know me, I’m easy! Could be a beautifully decorated Easter egg, eggs in a birds nest, or in a frying pan, or a 3-D project containing jelly bean eggs or chocolate eggs. Let’s just get a bit *eggy* this week!!! No other rules - but to have FUN!!!

Heres my egg creation for today:

81-easter-egg-480-wm-notime.jpg

Can you tell it’s an all-dressed-up Easter Egg? I had nothing that was egg shaped, so I just used my Oval Nesties, and I think they work OK! My memories of Easter as a child are mostly of the outfits we would always get and wear — a fancy dress, complete with shoes, hat, gloves and a purse! It was so much fun. And to think I don’t even like to get dressed up any more — LOL!!! It was so much fun then!!!

My card has only a stamped sentiment — the rest is just playing with DP and ribbon to decorate my egg. And my Prima on top serves as my eggs *hat* for Easter — LOL!! All ribbons used are by May Arts and available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Storeabove my blog banner. The rick-rack is by Wright’s in the sewing section of Wal-Mart or other stores. My card base is 4.25 x 4.25 square and with the flower on top, it is 6″ tall.

Blog Candy Winner!

Published by notimetostamp under Uncategorized

And the winner picked by Random.org at just after midnight EST is #449 .

Here are your random numbers:

449

Timestamp: 2008-04-27 04:04:09 UTC

#449 was Paper Doll, and this is what she said:

It is surprising to me, because I am not really a pastel person, but the color lilac has been my favorite color this spring. I think my eyes are just hungry for color after a long, dark, colorless winter.

Congratulations to you , Paper Doll!!! You have won Define Your Life by SU!!! Just email your address to me and it’ll be on it’s way!!!

Thank you all so much for playing along. And the overwhelming color choice you are grabbing at this time of year is a pink and green combination — very spring like, for sure!!! That’s so much for that fun information!!!

Cleaning and Selling

Published by notimetostamp under Uncategorized

I’m still trying to work in my stamproom (the never-ending project!) I’ll be listing things here periodically in small lots as I go through the room. I just listed a small lot of stamps in my For Sale tab up on top — several are older SAB sets. This is a good lot for someone who doesn’t have a lot of stamps, is just getting started, or for kids to play with. Just email me if you’re interested!!!

Thanks much!!! Hope to get another 10 minute card or two up tonight.

Cards for the Blake Family

Published by notimetostamp under Uncategorized

Many of you have been asking about sending cards to the Blake Family who recently lost their son, Kurt. I have received permission to post their home address here, so you can mail cards directly to them:

Anna and Jerry Blake
126 Greenland Rd
Ontonagon, MI 49953

My previous post regarding this can be read here.

Kurt’s Blog can be read here. The deep, strong, committed and unwaveringChristian Faith of this family is so evident in a time of such tragedy. And it all starts with faith the size of a mustard seed — may we all aspire to be more like this family.
