BUTTONS

I have chosen two different brands and packaging for Buttons.  I LOVE buttons and I am blessed with numerous bottles, tins and baskets full of vintage buttons — so why did I need more?   Well, my vintage buttons are beautiful and very dear to me, but for the most part they lack in color.  And I just could NOT resist purchasing these buttons in such gorgeous colors that go so well with the papers, fabrics and ribbons we are all using today.

First up are the buttons by Basic Grey.  I love that there is an assortment of colors in each pack.  These are packaged to match up with the Basic Grey papers; however, I find the colors to be just lovely and they all work very well with most all the papers and ribbons I use.  66 buttons per package in great color assortments.

I also selected these fun Button Bottles by Rusty Pickle.  How could I resist these fun little glass canning jars filled with buttons? They evoke such feelings of down home country warmth and coziness.  There is a label on the front of each jar, but I took the photo of the jar backs so you could actually see the buttons inside.  One color per jar.  How adorable these would look all lined up in a row!  Or what a wonderful little gift for a crafty friend!  These little jars are near and dear to my heart!  The jars are 3″ high, about 2″ square and hold a heaping 1/3 cup of buttons.  The glass lids clamp tight with a rubber seal in between jar and lid.  Most definitely a reusable container.  Totally darling!!!

KAISER PEARLS and RHINESTONES

These packets of self-adhesive pearls and rhinestones are an absolute staple in my stamp room.  I use them often on Monogram Gift Sets, Wedding or Sympathy Cards — anywhere I want to add a touch of class.  They are sticky backed and pick up easily with tweezers.  Just place where you want and give a little press with your finger — couldn’t be any easier!  Each packet contains 50 pearls/rhinestones in 5 sizes — 10 of each size.  I love the varying sizes as there is always a size that is just perfect for my needs.

VELCRO SELF-ADHESIVE DOTS

These Velcro sticky backed Dots are my personal choice for closing Gift Card Holders.  They are inexpensive, easy to apply to your project, they stick 100% of the time to the paper and they are easy to open and close, are very durable over repeated use,  plus they are very light weight.  I have them in 3 color choices.

PERFECT PEARLS KITS

I’m so pleased to be offering these complete pigment powder embellishing kits by Ranger.  Perfect Pearls are pearlescent pigment powders that make it easy to add shimmering highlights to our projects.  The powders can be used in many ways, wet or dry, with tips provided on the product packaging.  I am offering these kits in 2 color ranges — the Metallics which I have used for years, and Aged Patina which I am just itching to try out! 

I chose to offer these in kit form so you can get right to work.  Each kit contains 4 tubs of pigment powder, 2 brushes, and a pad of Perfect Medium (similar to Versa Mark).  That’s all you need to produce my favorite type of project with Perfect Pearls, shown below.

I am not heavy into technique - I like things quick and easy.  Perfect Pearls gives me this FAB result with minimal effort as seen on this card I did several years ago:

Here’s what I did:

• Emboss paper in Cuttlebug

• Run Perfect Medium (or Versa Mark) over the embossed paper

• Using the larger, soft brush take a very small amount of Perfect Pearls in Pearl color and brush over the embossed paper, working in small sections, until done.

• Using a Swiffer cloth, wipe the paper to remove excess powder — done!

VersaFine Ink by Tsukineko

This is my personal choice for black and brown ink.  I love it!  And the primary reason is that it creates THE most crisp and sharp images you will find anywhere.  It is the ONLY ink I will use for stamping sentiments.  The text is always so crisp when using VersaFine.  And the second reason is that these VersaFine pads  are nice and wet and they stay that way it seems almost forever!  Truly, you won’t find a pad with a life span like these .  Also giving these pads a huge thumbs up for me are that the ink is fast drying (on uncoated papers such as cardstock) and it cleans up easily.  HUGE attributes!  This is an oil based pigment ink that is archivally safe.  The manufacturer says this pad lasts 5 times longer than any other pigment ink pad.  I can certainly attest to that!  For the last several years this is the ONLY black ink pad I have used (other than when Copic coloring).

Please note:  This ink DOES NOT work well with Copic Markers (it will bleed).

Memento Ink by Tsukineko

This is the ink recommended for use with Copics by representatives of Copic.  It is a fade resistant dye ink that will not run or bleed when used with Copics.  I have it available in Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa, along with the refills.
