Hostess Club Project

pp-set-red-wm-notime.jpg

This is a little gift set I made for my Hostess Club girls to do this week.  This was a fun one!!!  The box in the center is a Star Box scored with the Scor-Pal, my newest toy — and what fun it is!!!!  Perfect scores every time, quick and easy, not much thinking and NO figuring — it’s totally awesome!!!  And your paper stays put, no slipping or sliding — I can’t say enough good things about the Scor-Pal and I’m anxious to have my friends try it out this week!

pp-set-box-red-wm-notime.jpg

I followed the SCS tutorial for this Star Box written by Diana Crick, creator of the Scor-Pal, only I made mine shorter.  My finished height is only 5″.  The box is very solid and rigid and holds its star shape nicely — I was worried that it wouldn’t, but — no worries!!!  This is just the cutest little box for some special, small treat!!!  I used all SU punches, papers and stamps.  The little tree tag on top opens and has a To: and From: on the inside.  I punched the white panel with the large tag punch and had to cut the Soft Sky paper around it.  My tag hangs by a Word Window Punch tag run though a slot made with the Horizontal Slot Punch.  The medallion is first a black Scalloped Punch, then the white/snowflake Scalloped Punched piece.  The blue words are punched with a 1 3/8″ round punch and the center snowflakes used a 3/4″ punch.  The medallion is held tight with the fatter pop dots and mounting tape.

You can’t  really see very well in the photo, but I embossed a row of small circles around the star, on the black, just above the “be merry” band with the setting part of the Crop-a-dile.  I’ve recently seen this done on several cards posted at SCS and was happy to read a little bit of instruction in the brand new Blog of Nancy Morgan – thanks much!!!  It sure is a fun thing to do!!!

This card is a 4.25″ square Joy Fold card.  I again used my new Scor-Pal.  The card is first scored in the center, like normal, and then the front is scored in 1/2, which would be the 2 1/8″ line on the Scor-Pal, and turned back.  The main image panel is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.  The penguin’s beak and feet are colored with the Only Orange Marker and the black and Soft Sky were colored with reinkers and an aquapainter.  It was punched with the large tag punch, then the black border was cut around it.  Another medallion was made, as above.  A photo turn from the Pewter Hodgepodge hardware holds the card closed.

The final piece to this set is a little 3 x 3.  Quick and simple.  The same medallion as above described with a ribbon run behind it.

  • Stamps:  Punch Pals, Warm Words and Many Merry Messages for inside sentiments
  • Paper:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Soft Sky, Soft Sky Prints Designer Paper
  • Ink:  Classic Black, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky.  Marker in Only Orange.
  • Punches:  Round Scallop, 1 3/8″ round, 3/4″ round, Large Tag, Horizontal Slot, Word Window.
  • Accessories:  Aquapainter, Scor-Pal, Crop-a-dile, Ribbon, Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, Silver Brads, Pop Dots, Mounting Tape, Mini Glue Dots, Crafter’s Tool Kit

That about does it — thanks much for looking!

A question to my FeedBlitz subscribers:  Are you getting the email notices you should about my uploads?  I am led to believe that none have gone out for about a week – I contacted FeedBlitz and they said they fixed it, but I’m still not so sure — so, if you are a subscriber, can you let me know if you have been getting the email notices of my uploads?  Thanks much!

And yes, the color scheme is wonderful. Great job!

Just to let you know, this time it didn’t arrive with the other that I subscribe to. Especially strange!
