Quilted Christmas

I’m so excited about this card.  It was an idea that popped in my head at 2:00 a.m. as I was trying to fall asleep, wishing I was in my stamp room!!!  LOL!!!!  I made a little quilted panel using my new Scor-Pal (such a fun toy!!! — actually, not a toy, a NECESSITY!!!).  I first embossed, with the Scor-Pal, the frame around the perimeter of my panel, then laying the paper at an angle on the Scor-Pal, I made the cross-wise embossed diamonds, then stamped my pretty little tree decorations in them.  All these decorations, and many more, are included in the set called O Christmas Tree! by Flourishes.  It’s the same set as the post below with the decorated tree.  Love this set!!!

The  images are stamped with Black Stazon and watercolored with reinkers and an Aquapainter.  Not much to explain about this simple card, it’s just my quilted panel that got me so excited!!!  I can just envision all sorts of things done with a similar quilted panel, only on a larger scale — can’t wait to find time to try it out!!!

  • Stamps:  O Christmas Tree! by Flourishes
  • Paper:  Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Wintergreen Designer Paper
  • Ink:  Black Stazon, Soft Sky, Sage Shadow, Purely Pomegranate
  • Accessories:  Aquapainter, Scor-Pal, Ticket Corner Punch, Satin Ribbon, Mounting Tape, Pop Dots, Dimensionals
  • Measurements:  Card is 5.5 x 4.25; White Quilted Panel is 2.5 x 4.5; Sentiment panel is 1.25 x 3.

Thanks much for looking!!!  Have you started your own Christmas cards?  It’s amazing how doing just 1 or 2 a day gets the job done!!!  Go for it!!!

Oh, I’m excited about this card, too, Sharon! I LOVE your quilted panel with all those cute, bright ornaments decorating it! The colors are great and the Wintergreen paper so pretty. I like it so much better than last year’s colors. Wonderful card!

This is fantastic! Love the quilting idea. I hope to get a Scor-pal for Christmas.

And…to answer your question - yes you can play my challenge without the paper. :)

Well, look at you putting your new Scor-Pal through its paces!!! Love that quilted panel idea! BTW, I wasn’t getting e-mail updates about your blog in the Feedblitz batch notices, but today I received my first individual Feedblitz notice for you. So, I think it’s working. Linda

I really appreciate your inspiration for another great way to use my Scor-Pal, even though you seem determined to ‘make’ me buy that Flourishes set that I didn’t used to like at all… lol

I am feeling behind……what is and where can you get a Scor-Pal? Can you take a photo of this new and apparently necessary tool? BTW, just love the simplicity and sharpness of your gorgeous card. TFS

Good golly - I’m new to your site and so glad I found it! This quilted design is great! I have a friend who is a quilter extraordinaire and I’ve been thinking about what kind of card I can make for her. This gets the wheels turning. I’m getting a Scor-Pal! TFS your beautiful work!

Oh sheesh, Sharon! I am such a dork! I forgot all about this beautiful card when I made my “sampler”! I honestly didn’t remember you doing this. And I even commented on it!

Now that I have a Scor-Pal, I’m going to try to do a valentine card using this as a model. I’m trying to figure out how far apart your scores are on the “quilt.” I really like how this turned out, Sharon.
