Football Scrap Pages

Published by notimetostamp at 8:32 pm under Scrapbook Pages

This is a 2 page, 12 x 12, layout I did for a class — they wanted to do football pages. I am not a football fan, so I hope I got it kind of right?!?!?!? I downloaded a picture of a football field from the net to follow. To get my ball the right shape, I did a Google search for a football coloring page, and that gave me the right size and shape. I often Google for coloring pages for shapes of images — works for me!!!

To make the field I merely cut strips of Garden Green 2″ wide x 8.5. I made a spacer, 3/16″ wide, of cardstock and that made it very quick and easy to lay the pieces down nice and straight. The numbers are die cut with the Cuttlebug and Olivia Alphabet die. The football helmet in the center is black embossed, punched with a 2″ punch andmatted with a 2.5″ punch.

The football was made using my Googled football coloring page for the shape, traced onto the reverse of this cool football paper I got from Michael’s. It’s just the same texture as a real football — very, very cool!!! I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the holes for the eyelets. The first row is punched 3/8″ in from the edge, and the next row is 1″ in from the edge. The seam (I guess that’s what it is) under the lacing is just a strip of paper. The lacing is 1/4″ grosgrain run through the eyelets that were set in the holes with my Crop-a-dile. The black seam acrossthe football is done with a black Sharpie. The white bands on the ends are also paper. Name and numbers are with the Cuttlebug and Olivia Alphabet die. GO VIKES! is done with Letterpress Alphabet in Elegant Eggplant. The school colors are purple and gold — I used Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard. The year was added in the lower right corner on a 2.5″ circle.

Hope the girls like this tomorrow!!! It really was fun to make — I love doing this type of scrapbook layout — just like doing a gigantic card front — LOL!!! Since I’m not a scrapper myself, I often wonder if there is too much “stuff” on these pages I design, so as to take away from the photos, but the girls I’m doing them for seem to like them, so I’ll keep it up until they want something different — I’m easy!!! The photos will be matted in Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard, Brown or White.

  • Stamps: Letterpress Alphabet, Sporting Goods
  • Paper: Whisper White, Garden Green, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Football paper by The Paper Co. from Michaels
  • Ink: Versa Mark, Elegant Eggplant, Black Sharpie Marker.
  • Accessories: Black Detail EP, 1/4″ White Grosgrain Ribbon, Crop-a-dile, Eyelets, Cuttlebug, Olivia Alphabet Dies, Marvy Circle Punches in 2″ and 2.5″.

Thanks much for looking!!! I have so many things on the table to be done — it’s just finding the time — slow and steady wins the race — or so they say!!! Hope to have some cards to post real soon!!!

Very cool, Sharon. That football is awesome. I’m glad you said the paper had texture or I would have thought I was seeing things. The ladies are going to love this.

These are great pages Sharon, they are not overdone. I just received two books yesterday from Scrapbook Trends and had an opportunity to go through them last night. If you want to surely see “overdone”, take a peek at these publications. I don’t know how some of the pages were even placed in print, totally not my style! Your pages are perfect because attention is not diverted from the photo images, your layout will enhance the photos!
