Faith in Action

I have fallen one month behind again on the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge, so since the April upload is about due, thought I’d better get my March one done!    I had made a scripture box to hold my 4 x 6 index cards with verses on them.  If you missed the previous uploads and you are interested, you can click here  (and then after you click, scroll down, as this post will be at the top of the archive) to see them.   There is a tutorial there to make the box.  Anyone is welcome to join in this challenge, so please, if you are interested, just jump right in.   Anyway, here’s my index card with verse for March:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”  James 1:2-4

This afternoon when I decided to do my scripture card, I knew exactly where I wanted to go to find a verse of hope and encouragement.  As many of you will remember, several weeks back I put out a prayer request for a 13 year old boy who had been seriously injured in a skiing accident.  He has since passed away.  During the initial days of his hospitalization, a Blog was started to share news with his family and friends.  Posts continue to be added to Kurt’s Blog, and his Mom, Anna, shares from time to time; thus, the title of this post — Faith in Action.  The verse I used above is one that Anna used in her latest post.  Anna has experienced every mother’s worst nightmare, and the world should be comforting her, but it is she who has so much to offer all of us — truly, Faith in Action.  And all by the Grace of God!

Oh Sharon, that is a beautiful card, verse, and reason for choosing. How wonderful that Kurt’s parents have the comfort of the Lord.

Sharon, this is a wonderful card and you selected a powerful scripture. My pastor’s sermon was on this precise scripture a week ago and it was so very cathartic. I cried throughout the entire sermon, so you have picked a verse so close to my heart, in fact I thought I might use it this week. Well, my dear, you have certainly done it justice and I feel blessed all over again. You are so awesome!

This card is so beautiful Sharon, what a blessing to have our Lord and Savior at the helm! My prayers are with Kurtis’s family, losing a loved one, especially a child, is something I know I couldn’t cope with without the knowledge that it’s only for a short time, that soon we’ll all be together again. I do plan on joining this challenge, but it will have to wait a few more months, as I want to do something along the lines of the calendar, but on a smaller scale, that can be shared with the entire stamping community.

I like the verse … it really hits the heart, doesn’t it? I love how you set it up with the tab/papers!

I hadn’t checked the blog recently and so am saddened to hear of Kurt’s passing. The sadness is not for him, for he stands in the presence of the King of the Universe but rather, for his family who will miss him beyond belief. Thanks for the opportunity to pray, Sharon.

Anna sounds like an amazing woman. I’m so sorry for her loss. You’ve so beautifully displayed God’s word in your work. All of the elements together are a masterpiece!
