White Gold

Published by notimetostamp at 3:32 am under Christmas Cards, Stampin' Up! Projects

A few years back I was really into white and gold and that gorgeous combination resurfaced this evening — I STILL love that combination!!! Just a short post tonight — these cards don’t need a lot of explanation — I’ll just comment as we go.

I used Scandinavian Season by SU. All embossing is SU Gold Detail mixed with Dazzling Diamonds — very pretty IRL. Just playing with some clean and pretty cards!

This is the first card I made this evening. I used a Sanford Gold Paint Pen to line the edges. Things were not going well — I wasted several pieces of paper as my paint pen started leaking out big blops of paint — a real mess!!!! Time to change course — THEN I remembered an order I just got in of some fun paper from Marco’s Paper. My mirrored cardstock would be PERFECT!!!! That is another thing I used to use a lot of years ago, but for some reason I’ve had trouble finding it. I was so glad to stumble upon Marco’s!!! The elegance that this mirrored paper lends a project is beyond compare!!!

scand-1-480-wm-notime.jpg

Can you see my strip of mirrored gold — I LOVE it — super high gloss, mirrored finish!!! But WOW, was this a hard group of cards to get pictures of with all the glare — I finally gave up and realized getting these photos glare-free was WAY beyond my capabilities — LOL!!! So we have lots of glare — but that’s OK — you can still see the paper.

scand-tent-480-wm-notime.jpg

This card is done tent topper style , a la Michelle Wooderson — gee, but I love this style card — so fun!!! The only mirrored paper here is the matting behind the tree. On this card I used the wheel to coordinate with Scandinavian Season. And I’ll tell you, each time I use this set I love it more and more — it is ONE fabulous Christmas set!!!

scand-star-480-wm-notime.jpg

These cards are so simple — I really have nothing to say! Have you noticed the single pearl on each card? LOVE that!!!

I had that one little scrap of gold paper left, so I figured it would work on a 3 x 3, and I like it!!! This is just another image in Scandinavian Season. And if you’d like to check out this paper at Marco’s, it is called Mirricard and is sold by the full or 1/2 sheet. I was so happy to find this source for paper — WAIT until you see what else I got!!!! It’ll take me a bit to get something made, but it is a paper I never even heard of before, but the minute I saw it I KNEW I had to have some, and I LOVE it!!! Coming soon - LOL!!!

That about does it — hope you are enjoying your Sunday!!! See you tomorrow!!!

I so enjoyed your white and gold series! What you call “glare” is what gives these photos their elegance and shine. Your photos have accurately captured the sheen of the Marco’s paper and shows us how much they glow. Excellent cards - superb photography!

These cards are just stunning! I have a small stash of mirror card that I hoard feverishly (think Gollum in LOTR’s - definately “my precious…….”) but I might be able to let some go in honor of this deliciousness :) That said, I know I won’t be able to “waste” it on matting a card, but using it as an accent, that I can do. Thanks for the inspiration.
