Masculine Sympathy with Dies

We attended a funeral yesterday and once again, I had no masculine card on hand.  Try as I might, sadly they go quicker than I can make them.  So, what to do when you’re in a rush?  Use DIES!  A quick way to make up a card.

Quite simple and appropriate, I hope, for a masculine sympathy card.

This card is a bit larger at 4.75 x 6.5″, made to fit perfectly into an A6 Clear Box.

Other than the rhinestones, this card is flat for mailing, but I’m just addicted to my Clear Boxes so that’s how we went today.

I used 2 different sheets from the pad for my foliage.  The stems on top are cut from a glossy sheet, then sponged, with the edges curled a bit with my fingers.  Just added a bit of interest and dimension to a rather flat card.  I liked the effect, which was more obvious in real life than in these photos.

Paper:  Kaisercraft Hunt and Gather – a great guy pad, kind of fishing/camping themed, but with classic sheets like this as well!

Stamps:  Sympathy Vintage Labels, a cling stamp set by JustRite (sentiment on front)

With Sympathy, a large clear stamp set by JustRite (inside sentiment)

Ink:  VersaFineVintage Sepia (text), Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tea Dye (sponging), Sponge Daubers

Dies:  Spellbinders Foliage, Framed Fancy Tags Two,

A2 Curved Matting Basics A

Miscellaneous:  Kaisercraft Rhinestones – Bronze

Here’s the inside.

I used the Curved Matting Basics A and With Sympathy.

And here’s my card all boxed and ready to go in an A6 Clear Box.

And here’s a quick visual of what I used today:

Kaisercraft Hunt and Gather

This is a great guy pad with a sort of camping/fishing theme, but plenty of classic sheets as well.  There is also a stamp to coordinate.

Spellbinders Foliage Die

I used the two largest dies today.  Linda Duke uses this die ALL the time when creating leaves for her floral clusters.

Spellbinders Framed Fancy Tags Two

I used the dies on the top right today.

I tell you, if I had to choose and only have a few dies, I would most definitely choose to have tag dies for my sentiments.  They add so much to the overall project.  We have a good selection of tag dies in stock.

See a variety of tag dies in stock here.

Spellbinders Curved Matting Basics – this is size A, it also comes in B.

Just like the Nestabilities, you can create 1/8″ layers when you have both sets.

The series of Matting Basics dies makes life so easy!  Cuts perfect layers, every time.  No measuring or figuring, and who doesn’t love that.

Find all the Matting Basics dies here.

And if you’re a bargain hunter, you can always find reduced items under Sale Bins or Specials.
